Oceans in the Desert

It is God’s great pleasure to bring you and all of His people into a place of prosperity and success. Like any good father, He takes no joy in watching His children struggle, fall or live in lack. From the time of creation onward, God has continually been giving His people guidelines that will lead them into abundance.

In the first chapter of Joshua we read these words,

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.” JOSHUA‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The guidelines of God’s Word are not there to oppress you or burden you but to guide His people into the fullness of all that He has. It is no different than when children play in a fenced yard where they have absolutely freedom to abandon themselves to the joys of childhood and yet if you put those same children on a grassy medium between a two-way interstate with cars speeding nearby they would be at high risk of injury or death if they played freely. Fear removes the freedom.

His Word, His ways, His instruction and His commandments are your freedom! They are also the compass that will lead you into success and prosperity. All the way back to the time of Abraham, Moses and Joshua the Lord spoke of inheritances, land and wealth that He had for His people. This has not changed but neither has the condition that we are to keep and obey His Word and “then” we would prosper and walk into the promised inheritance.

It is not too late to move into living in His ways and obeying His voice. The Lord makes it clear that if we lack wisdom that He is happy to reveal it to us.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5

Repentance is like an amazing invitation to breakthrough and change. When men and women leave the place of disobedience (even rebellion) that have robbed them of their very inheritance and submit their lives to the path of obedience then they receive restoration and success.

Let today be the day that all disobedience and rebellion against God and His ways are put aside. What a joy it is when a parent sees their child walk in wisdom and obedience. Their heart is at rest and it brings them great joy. The same is true with our Heavenly Father! What joy it brings Him to see His children walking in His ways and raising up their children in His ways. It creates a generational blessing of abundance, wisdom, success and prosperity.

Far too often do we see young children who are out of control; even within the body of Christ. This is because disobedience breeds disobedience. When we are out of control and view discipline as harsh or cruel (or controlling) rather than as love and the path to inheritance then we create a generational cycle of pain and hardship where people “labor in vain.” Parents who withhold discipline; who view teaching their children wisdom and self control, are actually robbing them of their inheritance. How will they know how to obey the Lord if they have never learned to obey their father and mother? But it’s not too late!

You may not have been raised up by parents who taught you to walk in the safety and beauty of an obedient life; but it’s not too late to learn. We have a wonderful Spirit living within us that reveals our amazing Father. He will train you up in the way you should go so that you and your children can gain the inheritance of favor and blessing that He has planned for you. Peace will follow you, joy will fill you and your children will rise up and bless you.

There is an invitation to all today, it is the invitation into to come into your promise land, into your inheritance and into the fullness of sonship. Invite God to search your life and adjust every place that opposes His ways and His truth. Watch as He turns your mourning into dancing as you walk in the guidelines of God that will prosper you in every way. This could be the first day of breakthrough for you and your loved ones!
