In February 1989 my husband and I were a part of the pastoral team at a northern California Vineyard church. That month a prophet by the name of Paul Cain released a word at the Anaheim Vineyard; a prophecy that became known as the vision of the “nameless and faceless generation.” It deeply impacted and shaped many of us in the Vineyard movement. We began to pray and declare that our sons and daughters would be that generation.
Here is how Paul Cain describes the vision he had exactly thirty years ago,
“In February 1989, at the Anaheim Vineyard during a conference, I prophesied a time when athletic stadiums and arenas would be filled with God’s people preaching the gospel and healing the sick in extraordinary fashion. In my vision I saw ambulances bringing in the worst medical cases, the local hospitals being emptied to deliver their patients to these events, and the dead (dead people!) being raised by an army of nameless and faceless Christians releasing a wave of miraculous healings and conversions. This vision encompassed multiple venues over an extended period and spoke of God’s glory being released in an unprecedented manner and on a scale that had not been witnessed before. In short, this work was not the result of men; this was the work of the Father himself!
In my vision, the international media were reporting the amazing events as they took place. This was the news of the day: every channel, every station, and every nation. This was not an isolated Christian event, the kind that is well known and publicized in the Christian community, yet even the immediate neighbours of the event have no clue what is happening inside; rather, this was a series of events that would affect the world and the communities around the stadiums and arenas.” (Paul Cain)
Last month, on February 12, 2019,exactly thirty years to the month after Paul released this revelation, he passed away. The Lord had told me to pay attention on February 12 & 13 because it would be a “demarcation mark in time.”
When I woke up on the 13th and read that Paul had passed away during the night hours, I knew that a new day was dawning on earth.
Since that day I have been pondering the vision of the nameless and faceless generation that we all carried so close to our hearts from 1989 onward. I believe that Paul’s passing was a marker that signals the unveiling of this generation.
A few nights ago we were out to dinner with some dear friends. The Lord had been so present in our conversations, and we were surprised when it unexpectedly began to snow outside (this is not common this time of year in the Portland, Oregon area). Within minutes the ground was covered with a white blanket. As this happened I began to share with our friends about the “nameless and faceless generation,” and as I did the Lord took me into an encounter where I saw a thirty-year assignment against identity that the enemy sent when Paul Cain’s vision was released.
I was taken into a brief but profound vision where I saw a white haired man (Paul Cain) speaking forth the vision, and as he did the enemy grabbed hold of it in terror and sent orders to bring about a demonic demonstration of a “nameless and faceless generation” by bringing such deception and confusion about their identity that they wouldn’t even know their gender. He would use fatherlessness, the media, Hollywood, the education system, and every means possible to release confusion in the lives of the younger generation so that the pure and holy vision would be snatched away. The enemy has relentlessly unfolded his plan for identity confusion over the past thirty years. I recently had a thirty-year-old tell me that she identified as “Z.” When I asked her what that meant she said, “It means nothing. I have no identity!”
Then the Lord said to me,
“Kathi, if my people will gather together and begin to decree over the earth the true identity of this generation that is loved by their heavenly Father, then they will be redeemed. Call for the nameless and faceless generation to emerge with purity and holiness unto the Lord. Surround and support them as mothers and fathers until they come into such oneness with Me that My name and face is all that is seen.”
It is time for the Abraham, Issac, and Jacob generations to be joined as one generation that will carry the bold courage and spirit of Joshua and Caleb. I believe that this nameless and faceless generation will bring forth life from death! God will send fire upon their sacrifice and it will show all the world that He alone is God! It will displace the idols of Baal and the false prophets of the secular world that have deceived our children and brought great confusion resulting in lost identity.
It is now time for us to gather and call forth God’s plans and purposes for this time and this generation. This thirty-year-old prophesy is for now and is being made new. The old and new, the young and old, the ancient paths and the future paths are converging for the sake of the pure emerging. The fear of the Lord will be the standard and the longing for holiness is even now resting upon many individuals. Heart motives are being purified, restoring first love and a desire for Jesus’ name to be heard and His face to be seen.
It is time!
