Oceans in the Desert

I wrote this word on May 1, 2002 (12 years ago today).  I felt that is a word for NOW and was to be released today May 1, 2014.

The original word was published on The Elijah List on May 3, 2002.

MAYDAY! MAYDAY!”

Original Date: May 01, 2002

On April 30, the Lord told me to pay attention to May 1^st—May Day. I watched and listened all that day, but nothing significant seemed to happen.

THE SHIP, TOSSED VIOLENTLY

That night I was taken into a vision. I saw a ship violently tossed upon a turbulent sea. It was very dark and fog was so thick that you could not see a foot in front of you. As I was taken closer to the ship, I was aware that it had been storm-tossed for some time.

The ship was lost at sea. There was no way for the crew to find their way back to where they had been, and yet they also could not see ahead to know where they were going. It appeared they were at the mercy of the storm, which seemed it would never end.

Nothing upon this ship was secure; everything was being tossed into the sea except the crew. Then I was taken into the midst of the ship, where I saw one of the crewmembers speaking into the radio, saying over and over: “Mayday, Mayday, Mayday!” I heard no response.

THE LORD WAS ASKING ME TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE DISTRESS CALL

At this point I came out of the vision and realized that the Lord wasn’t asking me to pay attention to “May Day” (the date, May 1st) but He was asking me to pay attention to the distress call: “Mayday, mayday!”

I asked the Lord what this meant and He told me that many lives and ministries had recently been in the middle of a storm. Their vision had been blocked, and their lives and plans tossed upon the rough sea. They had used up every means of self effort to find their way back to safety, but the storm and lack of vision had left them lost at sea.

The Lord then told me He has heard our distress calls. He has heard our call to Him: “Mayday, Mayday, Mayday!”

RESCUE HOST IS ON THEIR WAY

Though we do not yet see it, a rescue host is on the way. God has commissioned a great rescue host to come to us with all the provision we need to get us to safe harbor. This harbor will not be the place we started from, because we cannot go back, but it will be a new place, with new ships, new cargo, new crew members, new scenery, new life.

It was necessary to have everything tossed into the sea so that “new orders” could come. We have new orders, and this host will bring to each one of us those orders. We have new passages that we have not known about, but these will also be revealed to us.

We will have new vision; clearer vision.

We have new provisions that are on their way: provisions we have not known before because they are not coming by our efforts, but by His grace and help.

Our distress call has been heard. Help is on the way!
