The King of Glory
1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; 2 for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
3 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? 4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior. 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob.
7 Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 10 Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty- he is the King of glory.
Earlier this week, my husband returned from the recent “Hobbit” film, and he began to tell me about a scene with an utterance that impacted him with prophetic significance. Late in the movie, during the climactic battle; warriors for good, charge out against their wicked enemy. They went forth attacking them in a “V” formation with their king at the front. One of the characters then shouts: “They are rallying behind their King!” It hit his spirit deeply when that line was said, and as he recounted it to me it had the same effect upon me.
This is the shout from Heaven at this time, “They are rallying behind their King!” As we rally in a V formation behind our King, He becomes the tip of the arrow that will break through every barrier that stands before us. We will move behind Him with shouts of joy and shouts of victory as His power and strength break through for His people.
For many, it has looked as though the enemy has hit the bull’s-eye in the target of your life and your circumstances, but the Lord’s arrow is about to split the arrow of His enemy and suddenly gain the victory that you desperately need. You merely need to rally behind His strength and power.
His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
Who among us do not wish to delight our Lord? This passage explains that He delights in those who hope in Him alone. This is to be our posture! It is time, once again, to open the gates of our hearts, our homes and our nations for the King of Glory to come in. It is God alone who is mighty in battle, and we must rally behind the Lord of Hosts.
Dressed for a New Terrain
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
As we passed through the Hanukkah season this year—which ended right before the celebration of the birth of our Savior—I was shown a vision of God’s people walking out of a dark, dense wilderness full of thick trees and into an expansive terrain, containing open skies, bright light, and unobstructed vision for a straight road that lay ahead of them.
I saw individuals remove their clothing from the past season. They began shedding heavy hiking boots, cumbersome jackets, gloves, backpacks—the sort of gear necessary to travel the wilderness. Then each person was presented a new pair of brightly colored running shoes, a light-weight jacket, and running gear. As they dressed in their new attire I heard a voice: “Run Forrest Run.” (This is a well-known line from the popular movie “Forrest Gump”). I saw the Lord begin to run and then His people started following behind Him. As they ran, the sun shone on their faces and a breeze blew at their back. I saw many join in, and all ran together on this open road with a clear view ahead.
I was aware that they could run shoulder to shoulder, together in unity, on this road. The past season’s terrain had so many trees that it had been very difficult to walk together in unobstructed unity. The strongest had led in the previous season; but on this new open road, the Lord led the way with His people in unity behind Him.
Also, as I saw the people begin running, it suddenly became like the scene I mentioned in “Forrest Gump,” when Forrest was a child and ran from tormentors who mocked him. As he began running, the braces he was wearing came apart and flew off his legs. We will see everything that hinders and entangles us spin away from us as we position ourselves behind our King to run the race ahead. This run will be a run of deliverance and victory for us.
A Year of Light and Miracles
2015 is the year to come out of the shadows, out of the wilderness, and out of darkness and into a great light.
…the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”
During 2014 I found myself drawn to lanterns, and began placing them all around our home. I wrote about this in “Hanukkah: A Gateway to Miracles.” In that article I shared a dream from the Lord that pointed to Hanukkah 2014 as a gateway to an era of light and miracles. I initially wanted to refer to this time as a season of miracles, but each time I did, I felt God correct me; He was calling this an era or an age of miracles. The word era is a period of time marked by character, events and changes on earth. It is always an extended period of time.
During the final days of this past Hanukkah season, my husband and I were traveling home from a ministry trip. During that time, we received a miracle of provision that had been promised to us by God. I was texting one of our team members with the news, and as I pressed the button to send my message, a scripture was sent rather than what I had written. It was not a verse I had previously written, or researched, or received on my phone from any other source. It was completely miraculous! Here is the verse:
… to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. Luke 1:74-74
Here is a screenshot of that text.
I believe that the Lord was giving us a promise about this new era. As stated, He has come to rescue us from the hand of our enemies so that we can serve him without fear in holiness and righteousness for the rest of our days! The grip of fear is being loosened, and God’s people will move forth in great joy. The joy of the Lord is our strength and our song. No longer will we be persuaded by fear but instead we will be pursued by Love.
Faith, Hope and Love= MIRACLES
Enter 2015 with faith, hope and love; let love be the greatest of these. These three qualities will birth miracles throughout the year. Many desires will be fulfilled as you live in expectation of seeing the “goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”.
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Living in fear is like flooding our souls with ice water instead of dwelling in the warmth of faith, hope and love. That is the reason God is promising us that we will no longer live in the fear of our enemies but we will now serve Him without fear. This is a great gift to those who belong to the Lord.
There are miracles happening in many places throughout the earth. But still, many have wondered for a long time: where are the miracles such as those we read of in times past? I believe that we are about to see unprecedented miracles throughout the world. Expect to see miracles with both physical, mental and emotional healings, expect to see miraculous resources coming your way that enable you to do all that the Lord is asking of you, expect to receive wisdom and revelation through dreams, visions and visitations, expect miracles that restore broken relationships and bring prodigals home. Salvations, restoration and resources are going to be released miraculously in 2015!
Vision of Boxing Day and the Double Portion Blessing
But your many enemies will become like fine dust, the ruthless hordes like blown chaff.
Suddenly, in an instant, the Lord Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest and flames of a devouring fire. Isaiah 29:5
Many of you will experience a SUDDENLY! You will look around you and say, “Where has my enemy gone?” It will be as if you are in a dream because you will be loosed from your captors. Not only will your enemy be like dust but you will receive full recompense for all that has been lost.
The day after Christmas is known as Boxing Day in some parts of the world. On Boxing Day 2014 I saw a vision of people boxing up old things and laying them at the feet of Jesus. When these boxes were laid at His feet all the dross (pain, failures, sin, and brokenness) was burned up in an instant and what was left was GOLD. Jesus picked up the gold, put it into His chest and it became a gift in His hand that He gave back to those who gave Him their old “stuff”. Within the gift was a double portion blessing.
Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. Isaiah 61:7
Joy and Peace
He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you. He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat. Psalm 147:13-14
Joy and peace will be your song this year. God is granting peace to the borders of your life. You can be sure that if you begin to strive or feel anxiety, then you are moving out of the borders God has for you and into your own strength. Peace will be like a GPS system for your soul. Live within the borders of the peace that He is giving to you and rely only upon His strength and wisdom.
And joy! Every year our family takes a vacation in November. This is the time of the year when the Lord gives me a single word that will mark my next year. This year the Lord highlighted the word JOY.
Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place. 1 Chronicles 16:27
He dwells in our joy! God is happy and joyful and as we enter into His dwelling place we become a dwelling place for His strength and joy. Be joyful and you will gain strength. Enter 2015 with great joy!
