~ A Quick Word ~
Last night I was playing hide and go seek with a group of kids. We created a fort for them to hide in and they loved it. They put blankets and pillows in the fort. As I watched this group of 4 and 5 year olds cuddle and giggle under the covering of this fort I was reminded that we, too, have a place to go for comfort and covering. It is in the shelter and hiding place of His wing (Psalm 91).
The enemy is always seeking to bring confusion, fear, harm and pain to those who walk with God but we truly have a hiding place in Him. It is the eye of the storm where we can find safety and refuge as spoken of in Psalm 91.
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.
Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
If the enemy has sent a flood of adversity upon your life then go into the shadow of His wing where he cannot touch you. The Lord will protect you and He will turn the tide back in your favor. The enemy will wish that he had never sent this storm upon you because God will send it back upon him. Verse 15 of Psalm 91 says that when we call upon Him, He will answer us, He will deliver us and He will honor us. You may come face to face with the lion or cobra but He will make a way for us to tread upon them and be rescued from every snare.
Remember Isaiah 59:19,
When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
Today, call upon His name in your distress…He will deliver you and return honor to you.
