Our weather forecast for our area’s Easter morning was rain and cloudy skies. But we awoke to the most beautiful sunrise that cut through the chill in the air like a knife through butter. I stood on our deck just letting my face soak in the warmth of the sun. I then snapped a photo on my phone just because I wanted to remember how God promises His Son and is faithful to deliver. We were told that no sun would show that day but God gave us His announcement that truly the Son had risen.
As I stood on our deck, letting the warmth and light permeate my being I felt like all my “cloudy” expectations were melting away. God was arising and His enemies were scattering. Not even the cold morning air could penetrate the warmth of His presence.
Whether you are facing a morning of grey skies, snow covered streets or just feel overwhelmed with another Monday morning grind, take a moment to let the Son release His warmth and light upon your face. Let God arise on the scene of your life and scatter all of your cloudy thoughts and expectations. Let Him permeate your very being until all you see is the Son. Then, go out and face this new day with hope and joy.
Psalm 68: 1-3
May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2 May you blow them away like smoke—
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.
3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.
