Rivers in the Desert

Behold, I Do a New Thing…

For many months the Lord has been speaking to me out of Isaiah 43:18-19,

18 Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

I knew that when we entered the new year, we also entered a new season. The Holy Spirit was very specific about the fact that this was not only a new season but an entirely new way of walking and living. I knew we could not take any old baggage into this new season. What I didn’t realized is how much “baggage” I was carrying from former days; how many unnecessary “extras” I was towing behind me.

Since January God seems to be going after all those things that will bog us down if brought into the activation and fullness of the new season. Strongholds and beliefs that have not been fully aligned with His truth are being broken off us. In His great love and mercy, He is revealing things that we have not even been aware of. Just this past week God brought me into a deeper healing regarding a great loss that I experienced in the past couple of years. I didn’t realize how deeply it had affected me until God removed the deep root of trauma that it had caused

If you are aware that you crossed into this new season and yet it feels as though you’ve been in a holding pattern for months now, it may be because He is holding you until all the “dross” has risen so that He can remove it. This has been a time a preparation to walk and live fully activated in the new (will we perceive it?). Do not be disillusioned if you have been going through deeper levels of healing, because we are never too old or too mature to receive more freedom. You are not going backwards (even though you may feel as though you are), you are advancing and being prepared to move into the new without having baggage that will harm you or others. This is His goodness and kindness upon your life.

He is making a way in the wilderness and rivers in every area of desert in your life…and mine! Embrace the new and receive the healing.
