Do You Feel Like You’ve Labored But Not Given Birth?

By Kathi Pelton

I have sensed a deep travail upon many in the body of Christ in the past months. I can almost hear in my spirit the groans of pain as they intensify. Although there are moments of relief between contractions that have caused some to believe that their breakthrough had come; but then the pain and intensity built again with even greater force. This is part of the transition stage of laboring. We are laboring what the Lord is birthing.
It is very important in physical labor to stay focused and at peace. Fighting against the pain of contractions merely intensifies it and prolongs the duration of the labor. Pushing too soon can harm both the mother and the baby. This is a time to focus on God’s face and His truth, to enter into peace, to work with the pain (knowing that the pain is producing the preparation in the body for the birthing) and not to push before it is time. You will know when the time is right.
This spiritual labor is for individuals, ministries, businesses, governments, regions and nations. We are transitioning into the new era that the Lord has brought us to. I believe that during the Jewish New Year last September many became pregnant with God’s purposes for the new era that we entered and now nine months later (June) we are laboring to bring forth the birthing. We don’t know what it looks like but we know that we will love it, embrace it, steward it and be parents to it.
Do not be discouraged if you are in pain and the waves of intensity are increasing. You are almost there! You will give birth and hold the promise very soon. Remember the promise in Isaiah 66:9
Do I bring to the moment of birth
and not give delivery?” says the Lord.
“Do I close up the womb
when I bring to delivery?” says your God.
I know that this is referring to Zion but it also applies to “The People of God”. I hear Him speaking these words once again to those of you who are in pain. He will bring forth delivery and deliverance. The Lord spoke to me in December that His word for this new season is JOY. I believe that in the midst of the world becoming darker that the body of Christ will birth great joy for all to see. This joy will be contagious and will bring many into the family. They will be birthed in joy.
This birthing is both personal and corporate. It is for you and what you have been promised and it is for nations and the people of the world. It is not either/or but both/and. The PUSH is coming and it will come quickly so breathe, rest between the pain, focus on truth, be at peace and know that you are almost there.
Prayerfully consider supporting our ministry financially so that we can continue to publish encouraging words. If you are interested in our ministry update letter please contact us at
