Last night I was watching a bit of the show “Dancing with the Stars”. As I watched the professional dancers teach the dances to these amateur dancers it reminded me of our “dance through life” with Christ.
This dance of life with the Son often has us stumbling over the steps, stretches us as we learn to follow and goes against how we have learned to moved in the past season.
The key to dancing through this life with the Son is to yield to His lead. We want to be taught the steps and then memorize them but the Lord’s ways (steps) are not law or predictable so dependency is vital because He rarely moves in the way we would have thought He would take us.
I have received many powerful prophesies in my life but in EVERY one of them I was completely wrong in how I thought that they would manifest in my life. The steps to the fulfillment of these prophesies took me in directions and through steps that I had never imagined. Had I tried to memorize steps from past journeys I would have stumbled.
Once again, the key is to yield to His lead. Step by step you must let Him hold you close and allow His feet to lead the way. Or better yet, like a small child dancing with their father, put your feet on top of His and just enjoy the dance.
As once again we have transitioned into a new season and new dance it is vital to allow the Son to lead you…step by step. We have never been this way before or danced this dance. Ease comes in rest and surrendering the control to know the steps ahead.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
