I saw a vision today that resembled the story of “The Three Little Pigs” where the big, bad wolf came to blow a house down. In my vision the enemy was going to the lives and homes of God’s people and blowing adverse circumstances and winds upon them to cause destruction to come upon them.
Just like in the story of The Three Little Pigs these attacks caused them to recognize the places in their lives that gave this wolf access to destruction. They were forced to look at how they built their homes and how this gave the enemy access. Eventually they realized that a house of bricks could not be blown down.
My sense from this vision is that God has allowed these winds of adversity in order to reveal areas of weakness and access to the enemy’s onslaughts. It reminded me of when Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall.
“But now I said to them, “You know very well what trouble we are in. Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire. Let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and end this disgrace!””
The enemy has sent assignments that have brought both destruction and disgrace to God’s people. But God is rebuilding the walls and gates in order to fortify His people.
In the Book of Nehemiah we read that the repairs began with the gateways. I believe that God has been securing the doorways (gateways) of our lives and homes. He is purifying what we allow in and the broken down places that the enemy enters through. These can be lies that we have believed (agreed with), sin that we have allowed in and words that have allowed to come forth from our mouths (our physical gateway) that bring death rather than life. It can also be doubt and unbelief.
The walls are repaired next and God is repairing the walls of your life and home with His truth, His righteousness and His strength. We are clothes in Christ and ALL that He is. Our walls break down when we rely on our own strength, wisdom and goodness. He is the Chief Cornerstone of our life and house (temple). He is the beginning and the end of all, the Author and Finisher of our faith. He must be the builder of our lives and homes.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”
God is shoring up our foundations so that the enemy cannot “blow our houses down”. He is securing our foundations that were on sinking sand so that we may have our full foundation upon the Rock of Christ (our Solid Rock).
This rebuilding is happening in individual lives, churches/ministries, cities and nations. It is not “either/or but both/and”. God is raising up His global family and at the same time allowing support to come around individual families and lives that need support, healing and rebuilding.
The Book of Nehemiah is a blueprint of what God is doing once again in this hour. He wants you to know that He is securing your home and life from the winds that the enemy has been blowing upon you in order to disgrace you.
Restoration and God’s security is coming upon you as you allow Him to repair the broken down areas. What a good Father He is! What a faithful God we serve.
“…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
