The story is about a little boy who has begun the validity of the existence of Santa Claus because he is leaving the realm of childlike faith and entering the place of only believing what he can see and perceive by natural sight. The book and movie take you through his journey beyond all of his doubts to truly learning to believe again.
As we watched it once again it reminded me of the hundreds of letters I’ve received throughout 2016 from those suffering from the same thing that this boy in the movie suffered from…DOUBT! There eyes have seen natural things and experienced natural circumstances that have taken them from the realm of childlike faith to suspicion and doubt in the prophetic, in hope for their futures and mainly in God.
I understand how there are seasons in life that batter the shores of belief like a tsunami wave. It causes even the most faithful one to question of God cares or loves you like you once believed. But the truth is that He does and that does not ever shift or change with the shadows that darken or hide the light of His goodness. They truly are just “shifting shadows”.
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
I love the verse reference of this scripture! 1:17 or 1/17…I sense that January 2017 will cause many of those shifting shadows to cease and many will experience a year of your Father’s good and perfect gifts coming upon your life. 2016 has been like a wild ride that has caused many to stop looking at the shifting shadows but to believe again. They may not have received the breakthrough that they’ve longed to see or in the way that they hoped to see it but they broke through the doubt and like the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 they believed! What a victory that SO many have believed without seeing the manifestation of what they hoped for! This is changing the spiritual atmosphere in ways we do not fully comprehend. Maybe God allowed His children to be a part of a victory that shifted faith in a way that has prepared the way for the future generation? What if this seemingly long period of faith without seeing (for once you see faith is no longer required) has tipped the scales?
The personal sufferings may have produced a far greater reward than a mere breakthrough would have done. Your breakthrough may have merely benefitted you but the corporate victory of standing in faith without the breakthrough has done a far greater good for the whole.
The Polar Express movie concludes with the boy having his ticket punched (at the end of his journey of faith) and it is punched with the word, “BELIEVE”! You are about to get your ticket punched!
THANK YOU to all who sowed into our December end of the year need. We reached over half of our goal/need. We are praying for each one who gave by name. We are believing and declaring Ephesians 3:20 for you! We are so grateful for you.
It is not too late to get in on the “season of giving”! You can give a gift at:
