I’ve been asked many times what one of the main keys to living in the peace of God is. Aligning with God’s truth and instructions of rejoicing in the day that I am living in and not allowing anxious thoughts of tomorrow to overrule the mercy given for today.
“The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!””
Lamentations 3:22-24
The dawn of each new day introduces mercies anew, His faithfulness and His promised inheritance…therefore we have hope.
Each day is a gateway into His presence and His faithfulness. He has victory for His sons and daughters with each new sunrise.
“Open for me the gates where the righteous enter, and I will go in and thank the LORD. These gates lead to the presence of the LORD, and the godly enter there. I thank you for answering my prayer and giving me victory! The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone. This is the LORD’s doing, and it is wonderful to see. This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalms 118:19-24
Peace is found in the presence of God and staying present in the day that He has made and in the mercies given for that day. It is also found in the deep and abiding trust that I do not have to be anxious or worried about tomorrow because our God will be there when we arrive.
This does not mean that there won’t be trials, pain and days that we need answers in; but there is breakthrough into peace that is found in the “day that He has made”. It is a breakthrough into His mercies and presence that ushers us into hope for tomorrow rather than anxiety and worry about tomorrow.
““So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
MATTHEW 6:34
Anchor yourself in the day that He has made and let hope arise for tomorrow…for tomorrow will once again be the today that He has made!
