The Rooster is Crowing: “It’s a New Day”

By Kathi Pelton

Today is the Chinese New Year and it is the year of the rooster. The spirit made me aware of this earlier this month and then began to make it more pronounced in my spirit the other day while I was outside playing with my 3-year old grandson. It was 10 am and a rooster began to crow on a neighboring property and my grandson began to crow with it. Immediately I remembered a prophetic word that I had written about a rooster crowing that was announcing a new day during the midnight hour.

I went onto The Elijah List site and looked up the word and found that it was written in 2007. This word called that year (2007) a new day “but the midnight hour of a new day”. This is ten years later and the rooster that crowed the other day was at 10 am (ten hours into the new day).

Ten is the number of completion and the first double digit number which announces the time of the double portion.

I will share that word now because I believe that it is a now word in which we are now in the 10th hour of.

Here is that word:

“The Roosters Are Crowing, ‘It’s a New Day!’”

Kathi Pelton

The Lord first began to speak to me regarding a new day back in February of this year. In January our family lost our house in a fire.

A month after the fire, a Mennonite couple from Pennsylvania heard about our tragedy. The Lord asked them to send us a “prophetic gift.” They went on a treasure hunt with the Lord to see what He wanted to say to us and to give to us. Then they found it. A rooster!

A very large box arrived at our address with a Pennsylvania postmark. When I opened it I found a beautifully crafted (very large) ceramic rooster. As I began to lift it from its box the Spirit of the Lord immediately spoke to me,

“A new day is dawning!”

At that time it was the very message of hope that I needed in the midst of personal loss and extreme weariness. I needed an announcement of hope and light in the midst of the ashes of loss.
It’s Both Personal and Corporate

Throughout the next few months I kept that word near to my heart. It was a personal prophetic word that spoke to me each morning when I would wake up and see our rooster.

It was a promise that was repeated, again and again to my weary soul. It was a personal word to our family but I sensed that it was also for many more.

Recently, a friend who is an intercessory leader in Newfoundland, Canada asked me if I would look at some notes that she had written and help her to write an article about the “midnight watch.”

As I read through her notes I was deeply moved by the insight she had received and the studying she had done about the midnight hour. As I sat down to begin to write the article the Lord spoke a prophetic word to me. He said,

“A new day has already begun. The midnight hour has passed! Though the darkness tarries, declare to the people that a new day has dawned.”

A new day begins at midnight (when it is still dark for seven more hours). The enemy recognizes this new day and is attempting to take advantage of the darkness that still lingers. He always tries to take full advantage of the darkness but God sees through it all. God has called you to walk by faith not by sight. If you will move forward He will bring the plans of the enemy to nothing.

This is a new day, a day that the Lord has made and you must have eyes to see and ears to hear His declaration the emergence of this new day. Do not look back; do not say that the darkness has overtaken you, for even the darkness is light to Him.

The Lord says,

“You are My witnesses that I have declared that a new day has begun. I will bring forth new things that you never expected to happen, things that only I can do. Enter into this new day with the expectation of a child; with hopes, dreams, and excitement.
I will accomplish all that I have said I will do, and you will look on as My witnesses. This is a work of grace that comes by My Spirit, not by human strength. It has been grace alone that has ushered you into this new day and it will be by grace that you will live and accomplish more than you ever could ask or imagined. By grace many will be healed and saved.”

At the end of hearing this word I could hear, in my spirit, roosters crowing all throughout the world declaring, “It is a new day!”

Noises in the Night

A couple of years ago, my family was on holiday, and we were given a small cottage to stay in. Right outside of our bedroom window, there was a chicken pen, and within that pen was a very loud rooster that would begin crowing right about midnight. My husband and I thought we were going to go crazy with this annoying bird! It would awaken us from our sleep well before the light of day was appearing.

As I’ve been pondering this hour that we are in and the sound of the rooster that crowed at the midnight hour. It has become quite prophetic for me to say,

“The roosters are crowing at the midnight hour to announce the new day!”

Just as in the story of the rooster awakening us at midnight with its constant crowing, so are the prophetic voices throughout the nations crowing while it is still dark outside–to awaken the Church to the awareness of a new day.

The New Day Begins At Midnight

Though the new day has begun, it is still dark and just past the midnight hour. There are always those “early risers” who function best in the darkness of a new day.

These early risers are quite busy at this time. This is not just any new day, it is a day that is announcing a whole new way of living. The best way I can say it, is that it is like “the Kingdom of Heaven is coming to Earth.”

In this new day many will suddenly come into the Kingdom and be a part of the 11th hour awakening. The parable of the workers in the field, even those who came in the 11th hour, where they will receive the same pay as those who came in the first hour is fitting for this time,
Matthew 20:1-16

“For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire men to work in his vineyard. He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard
About the third hour he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ So they went.

“He went out again about the sixth hour and the ninth hour and did the same thing. About the eleventh hour he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’

“‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered,

“He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’

“When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman,
Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’

“The workers who were hired about the eleventh hour came and each received a denarius. So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. ‘These men who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’

“But he answered one of them,
‘Friend, I am not being unfair to you. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? Take your pay and go. I want to give the man who was hired last the same as I gave you. Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

“So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”

Miracles Are Coming

This new day will be marked by the miraculous. I believe that we will see miracles like never before–physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Those who have been on the wrong path will suddenly “come to their senses” because of what God is releasing in this new day. Prayers that have been dormant for years will all of a sudden be answered. In this time of awakening, we will see the lost saved, the sick healed, and the prodigals return. This is the day that this generation has been longing for. We have crossed the Jordan after 40 years in the desert, and we are being circumcised and consecrated in this hour to possess the Promised Land.

The Sabbath Day of Rest

I also feel that in this new day which we have entered will be a Sabbath Day of rest for God’s people. This is a day of rest when we will come into seeing the sovereignty of God manifest as we invest time with Him and with one another. There has been a great preparation for this day, some of the preparations were of God and others were initiated by men, but all that was “God” will remain and everything else will fall away.

Though we are being awakened, we are awakening in a day of rest. God is asking us to cease striving; it is time to be still and know that HE IS GOD.
Psalm 46:10

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

This rest will be very intimate! Though the activities of God will be seen throughout the world, His people will be enjoying the deepest intimacy with Him and one another that they have ever experienced.

He Leads Me Beside Still Waters

The backdrop for this day is Psalm 23…it will be a backdrop of green pastures and still waters. It is a day where His people have restoration for their souls. It is also a day that He sets a table before us in the presence of our enemies. Will our enemy be present? YES…but we are to rest in Him, knowing that God is preparing a feast for us and He will not be stopped. Not by power, nor by might but by His Spirit the victories will come.

Psalms 23

“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

Awaken to the new day, Bride of Christ. This is a Sabbath Day of rest for your soul. His restoration is here for you, His comfort is here for you, and His goodness and love will follow you all the days of your life. The rooster is announcing the dawning of a new day!

“Good Morning”
