There is such a tangible invitation to come into the intimacy of God’s presence and goodness at this time. There is an open door with a red carpet laid out. This invitation is for the lost, the weary, the broken and disheartened. It is for the overcomer, the warrior and the bride.
I hear the words,
“Come as you are!”
There is no spiritual “dress code” for this invitation; it is merely an invitation into His deep longing for intimacy with you. When you enter in you will be given new robes, you will be washed in His love and you will be transformed by His grace.
I continue to have the Lord remind me of a time many years ago when my oldest son was 4 years old. We were a part of a church staff and on Sunday morning there was an invitation for anyone who might feel they have a word of knowledge to come forward. Our four year old son quickly arose and went onto the stage. When he was handed the microphone this is what he said,
“God wants someone to know that He likes your shoes and your shirt and that He loves you.”
We all thought it was very sweet and patted him on the back for being brave. What we didn’t know, but later found out was that a homeless man had just walked into the service. He was sitting in the back row and looking at how his shoes were worn and shirt was dirty. He was about to leave because of the shame he was feeling about his clothing.
Right then, out of the mouth of a child, the sweetest words this man had ever heard came forth and he not only stayed but he gave his heart to Jesus that day. We watch his life turn around because of the kindness of God.
The message and invitation to him was, “Come as you are.”
Like the woman caught in adulatory, like Paul on the road to Damascus, like Peter after he betrayed His Lord and like the woman with the issue of blood…come as you are and be transformed. There is grace!
There is a deep longing that is sounding a Heavenly bell that signals the open door. It is calling, calling, calling! Deep is calling out to deep for the lost to come home and the prodigal to return. Deep is calling out to deep for the weary to come and be refreshed by the fresh wind of His love. Deep is calling out to deep for the desperate and broken to come under the waterfall of His goodness and love. Come as you are.
Come into the breaker wave that is now being released that will revive you and awaken you anew. This is an invitation to go from the shoreline or from the shallows into the deep places but you must pass through the breaker wave. It will not harm you but rather revive you.
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
Ephesians 3:18-19
His love makes you complete! It gives you fullness of life and power. It is time to “experience” the depths of His love.
June is a bridal month and the bells are ringing to invite you to come as you are. Come into His chambers and experience Ephesians 3:18-19.
