Keys for Victory

Kathi Pelton

In the world you will often hear the word, “Karma“. This word means that what you do today will effect what happens tomorrow (or in your future). Though this “cause and effect” has roots in Hinduism and Buddhism there is truth found that our actions and beliefs can affect our futures. We don’t call it karma but rather truth.

There are keys that we have been given through the Word of God to open the way of victory before us.

I have found these keys to be effective to open the way forward in every aspect of my life.

Let Truth Grace Your Lips

One of those keys are found in the Book of Joshua,

““Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:7-8‬ ‭

His Word is a lamp for your feet (steps) and the truth of His Word is like a bank account filled with all that you will ever need. You can withdrawal truth, wisdom and light both day and night. Walking in His ways and letting truth grace our lips is vital in the life of every believer.

Though I do not believe in karma or even the practice of “name it and claim it”, I do believe in the power of truth! When I meet a believer who’s lips drip with negative speech that is aligned with defeat, it is heartbreaking. Their “faith” (dread) that they believe and speak becomes a demonic counsel that leads them to exactly what they have dreaded. Meditating on what the enemy has done or what you dread is to align yourself with more defeat to manifest in your life.

Joshua 1:8 says that as you meditate on the truth of God’s Word and allow that truth to be upon your lips that your will be prosperous and successful. Truth will renew your mind and order your steps according to His perfect will.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭

Stand with the Wise

“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13:20‬ ‭

One of the greatest gifts in my life have been the people who have surrounded me and given me Godly wisdom throughout the years. When I meet someone who walks in truth and wisdom I know that I am being given a gift. I have nurtured and held onto these relationships as I would a gift of great value. Those relationships have been keys in my life and brought invaluable counsel as I discern His steps and will.

If you don’t have a circle of “wise men” in your life then begin to ask the Lord to add them to you. Fellowship with believers (church, home groups, small groups, etc) is a good place to find wise men and women!

“Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:14‬

The Bank of Trust

I recently saw a TV commercial where a bank robbery was being thwarted and the name of the bank was “Bank of Trust“. The Spirit of the Lord immediately highlighted it to me and said this,

“My people can always bank on investing all that they have in the trust of the Lord.”

“Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:8‬ ‭

Here in the United States our money has the words upon it, “In God We Trust”. Though this is not true for many of our citizens, I believe that this truth upon our currency is a a divine exchange made millions of times each day in our nation that keeps this truth alive. Just like these words are engraved upon our currency they should also be engraved upon every aspect of the believer’s life.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭20:7‬ ‭

God is your “Bank of Trust” that will never fail but always increase your investment. It is key to invest ALL in Him. This is a key to victory in every aspect of your life.

When things look bad or circumstances appear negative we do not withdrawal our trust but rather we look for any place that we may have withheld investing all. In hardship we trust all the more with assurance and expectation of increase and blessings. Trust in Him with all of your heart and seek Him first!

Do Not Worry…Do Not Dread!

“And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:29-32‬ ‭

A key in my life is to remain in the grace and mercy of today. Though I dream with great expectation and joy of tomorrow, I don’t allow my mind to become fixated or consumed with worry or dread. I spent many years in anxiety as I focused on what warfare would come next. When we first began to sell all that we had to follow Christ I found myself trying to figure out how God would provide which left me worrying and filled with dread. This stole my joy and caused me to withdrawal trust.

When I finally was able to allow the Spirit to renew my mind with truth, it brought me to a place where I could remain in the day that the Lord had made and truly rejoice.

“This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭118:24‬ ‭

THIS is the day He has made so rejoice in it. He will cause tomorrow to awaken with new mercies and provisions unknown to man. Invest your tomorrows in the “Bank of Trust“. Engrave upon your future the words, “In God We Trust“.

Rejoice today because you can trust Him for your tomorrow. These are keys for victorious living.

Amen
