His Ways Will Make a Way for All That You Need

Kathi Pelton

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:8-9

If I have learned anything as I’ve journeyed with the Lord it is truly that my ways are not His ways; they are so much higher! It took me many years to truly yield to the truth of His ways while living in a world that counseled me in “ways that made sense”.

From the first time that God asked me to leave the “security” of my home and family to the times that He asked me to give abundantly out of my own need, I had to face an inward fight against the natural ways in order to walk in His supernatural ways.

It takes time and trust to allow your life to be ruled by His Spirit rather than your soul. Each time that you yield to the leading of the Spirit rather than the fears of the flesh, your soul comes into greater alignment with truth. It renews your mind so that His ways no longer trigger an emotional war but they are embraced with joy and excitement.

Obeying His ways will take you higher and upgrade your life each and every time. My life is living proof that obedience, even when it looks foolish, releases blessings and upgrades.

In 1 Samuel 15 we read the story of the Lord asking King Saul (through Samuel) to completely destroy the Amalekites; sparing nothing and no one. Instead, Saul does what is best in his own eyes and spares the king of Amalek and takes the best of all of their herds back to Israel. Saul tells Samuel that he spared the best of the herds (spoil) to sacrifice to the Lord; although the Lord never asked for sacrifice, He asked for obedience.

But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.”

‭‭1 SAMUEL‬ ‭15:22-23‬ ‭

Because Saul did not fully obey the Lord, God rejected him as King over Israel. This story is a perfect example of how God’s ways are not our ways. Had Saul done all that the Lord asked of him, he would have been blessed and upgraded.

This is part of the alignment that the Lord is bringing His people into. He is aligning our lives to fully obey His voice and truth so that we will be blessed and see the breakthrough that is needed. Individual and families will breakthrough into great blessings as they fully obey His ways. Nations will be blessed as His people walk in His ways, obeying ALL that He asks.

I remember a time, many years ago, that our family was living in another country and our mission support was not covering our living expenses. One month was especially hard and we were very short of what we needed financially. During that time the Lord asked me to give all that we had, not some but all

Although our “all” wasn’t much, it still left us with nothing. We obeyed and gave it all. We told no one of our need but trusted that God’s ways would make a way. The next Sunday, at our church, we were surprised to be called up on stage and people were asked to “dump coins into our laps“. They not only put coins in our laps but dollars and checks that amounted to over $7000.00!!

HIS WAY MADE A WAY FOR US!!

Obeying His voice and His ways will always make a way for you. This is not a time to hold back in fear. This is a time to align your steps with the ordering of His steps and your ways with His ways. Trust Him! Whether it is a physical move, a change that doesn’t make sense, giving out of your own need or any other act of faith in obedience to His voice…you will be blessed as you obey.

He is faithful and true. His ways are higher than our ways and they will take you higher. This is the way…walk in it.
