Oceans in the Desert

On August 21, 2017 a total eclipse of the sun will be seen across the United States of America. It is being calling “The Great American Eclipse”. Though the sky will go dark for only a few minutes, as the sun, moon and Earth align,, people have been preparing for this months in advance and are traveling from all over the world to witness it. 

It is no coincidence that August 21st is also the first day of the Jewish season of Teshuvah, a 40 day season of repentance and return to God leading up to the Day of Atonement, also known as Yom Kippur. This is the day where the rituals were performed that removed the sins of the nation (Israel) “as far as the east is from the west, to be remembered no more”. This total eclipse will darken the sky from the east to the west of the United States as a signpost of this very thing.

Many prophetic voices have been speaking about alignments, preparations, repentance and many turning back to the Lord. Often we will see things in the natural speak of things in the Spirit. I personally believe that this is one of those times.  

As we entered 2017 the Spirit spoke to me and said that the first half of this year would prepare God’s people to begin to align in unity with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and begin to moved them into unity (oneness) as Jesus prayed for in John 17:20 (17:20 in 2017). Just as the sun, moon and Earth will align and the Father, Son and Spirit are fully aligned as One, we will move as a family in that alignment and unity. God’s alignment will not be momentary but rather eternal. 

July was a month of completion that ushered God’s people into resurrection, restoration and true repentance. I keep finding myself saying the words,

 “Repentance is freedom from wrong alignments.” 

When I began to hear about the “Great American Eclipse” I knew in my spirit that it was a prophetic sign in the sky of a spiritual manifestation on Earth; specifically for America. In the months since our presidential elections we have been in what I consider a momentary darkness that is aligning our nation and God’s people to move into unity, restoration and the resurrection of God’s original intent. This is why intercession for our president and leaders has been so vital. 

The 40 day season of Teshuvah will be the culmination of alignments, preparation and repentance to enter into authority for both our nation and God’s people across the nations. Repentance produces humility and authority is a product of Godly-humility.

Just over a week after these “40 days of repentance” will come an event on the Washington D.C. Mall called, “Awaken the Dawn- America’s Tent of Meeting. From October 6-9th 50 tents from all 50 states will be set up on the Washington Mall to pour forth prayer and worship 24/7 for three days straight. I believe that this will be a time that will be a divine reset for our nation after the 40 days of repentance. 

Just as over a million people are arriving in Oregon alone (specifically the State Capital area of Salem, Oregon, on the West Coast) to view the August 21st total eclipse, may we see a million people gather on the DC Mall this October to see darkness turn to light in our nations capital. 

“Even the darkness is not dark ]to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.”

Psalm 139:12

It is time to align with the Light of our God, even in the midst of Earthly darkness. Then darkness will not be dark to the people of God. They will be the light of Christ to a world in darkness that is searching for relief. This is a time to truly take the season’s of God seriously. His Spirit is calling and asking us to “Come up higher” to discern the times and seasons. It is not “status quo” any longer; now is the time to see a nations turn back to God.
