Your Wrestle Will Produce a Great Reward

Kathi Pelton

I heard the Lord speak this morning the words,

“Tell My people that their wrestle will produce a great reward.”

For those of you who have been going through a wrestle with pressures and circumstances that are overwhelming you; know that your wrestle is not in vain. Do not give up, do not lose faith and do not give into despair.

The wrestle that many are facing with discouragement, depression and anxiety is for the sake of receiving your promised blessing. Grab hold of His truth and promises in the midst of what you are feeling. This will strengthen your spirit to lead you in forward in all that God has for you. God is breaking emotional and mental strongholds that have been like mountains to keep individuals from moving forward into the land and future that He has promised you and your descendants.

There are times in every life that I call “the dark night of the soul”. These can last a single night or over a night season. I personally went through a night season (twenty years ago) that lasted for three long years. I wrestled against a spirit of death and it ended my entire life changed. The reward was worth the wrestle. This was a stronghold that was keeping me from embracing and moving into all that God had for me. My soul wounds and trauma were dictating and usurping my spiritual identity and calling.

Your current wrestle will yield a great reward! Whenever I hear the word “wrestle” I remember the story in Genesis 32 of when Jacob wrestled God throughout the night. To refresh your memory, Jacob was obeying the instructions of the Lord and returning to the land of his family. Jacob greatly feared his brother, Esau (who lived in the land), and prepared all who were with him to be overtaken by him and his men. God had promised to bless him and his descendants in the land, but still, Jacob struggled with great fear that his brother and his people would attack him and his family. The night before he was to face his brother he wrestled with God,

“Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” So He said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.””

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭32:24-28‬ ‭

You may be struggling with God and with man (and with your own fears) but may God prevail so that you can enter into the blessing and reward that He has promised you.

The name “Israel” means, “May God Prevail“. As you wrestle against your fears, your flesh and the enemy of your soul, you will be given a new name that testifies and declares, “May God prevail“.

God’s promises will prevail over every fear, sin and circumstances that you face as you dare to wrestle through the dark night in order to enter the new day.

The story of Jacob’s wrestle ends with these words,

“So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.””

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭32:30‬

My personal three year wrestle ended with a thirty day encounter with God that transformed my life. I saw God and my life was preserved.

The Lord is wanting you to hear His words to you once again,

“Tell My people that their wrestle will produce a great reward.”

May God prevail!!
