Each morning I begin my day with personal time with Jesus. It always begins with offerings of gratitude and praise for all He has done, all He is doing and all He will do. And for who He is— Holy, worthy, faithful and Savior.
Then I pray for my family— my husband, my children, their spouses and my grandchildren. I am very specific in this portion of my prayers and I felt to share with you my prayers for them so that you can pray, decree and cover your family in the same way.
Here is how I pray each day for my family:
DAILY PRAYERS OVER MY HUSBAND, CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN—
Ephesians 3 Blessing
“I pray that from Your glorious, unlimited resources You will empower my family with inner strength through Your Spirit. Jesus, make Your home in their hearts and help them to trust in You. I decree that their roots will grow down into Your love and keep them strong. And may they have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love is. May they experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then they will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
Based upon Ephesians 3:16-19
Clothe them with God’s Armor:
In faith I place upon their heads salvation, as a helmet of protection and as their eternal hope. This brings to their lives the ongoing and unlimited graces of salvation and the heavenly blessings that are their’s as being His sons and daughters. It provides protection over their minds that are being transformed and renewed in Christ.
In faith I place upon their chests the breastplate of the righteous of Christ that guards their hearts and keeps them safe within His righteousness. This is their hiding place and wing of protection over their hearts.
In faith I place the truth upon them as a belt that keeps them from stumbling throughout their day. They are held up by the truth of God and by His Spirit of Truth.
In faith I place upon them the shoes of peace. The peace of Christ that guards their hearts and minds. The peace that has joined them to God and divided them from the chaos of sin. An untouchable peace that confounds and repels the enemy— keeping them in perfect trust.
In faith, I place in their hand the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Every Word that proceeds from God belongs to them, every promise, all authority through Christ and all of salvations blessings. They can pierce the darkness with this sword of light and cut through every battle or enemy that stands before them.
In faith, I put in their other hand the shield of their faith in You. It is over them and it goes before them— extinguishing EVERY fiery dart of the evil one and his demons. No weapon will prosper and no arrow will touch or harm them in any way. They go forth unexposed and fully covered by faith in Jesus.
Covenant Promises:
I release every covenant promises made throughout the scriptures upon my family. Mainly the new covenant promise that fulfills every other one. A covenant of grace that comes from the sacrifice of Jesus’ blood and body. Forgiveness of sins, release from the captivity of sin, eternal life, personal relationship with God, right standing with God.
They will inherit the land, the covenant blessings of offspring, of being co-heirs with God to redeem the earth and creation, they will live under the rule of Christ which is executed with love and mercy, they and their children will live under God’s blessings wherever they go.
I call to You and ask that from the heavenly storehouses You would release spiritual provisions that come with being adopted into Your household— and being sons and daughters of the Most High God. Release physical provisions for health and wholeness, soul provisions for a sound mind and soft hearts, and financial provisions to prosper and lack no good thing. I call forth land and wealth to be transferred to my family as part of Your covenant blessings and inheritance. More than enough in every area.
