Yesterday I woke up from a vivid dream where I was looking out over a vast area of land and throughout the land tigers had been set loose. I was alarmed and turned to leave the place where I stood. As I turned, standing directly behind me was one of the large and powerful tigers. I stood absolutely still and it began sniffing me intently.
I heard the Lord say, “Do not react or it will attack.” Then I woke up from this dream.
As I’ve prayed into this dream, I felt that it is a warning to believers. The enemy has sent out prowling tigers that are seeking prey that they can devour. They are sniffing out those who react in fear or anger.
They are looking for a “trigger reaction” (tiger reaction) that says, “I am fearful, weak and ruled by my emotions; not by the Spirit of the Lord.”
These tigers may come in the form of some sort of provocation— such as an insult, a threat, jealousy, an accusation, a sudden crisis, etc. The enemy knows the scent of peace and faith that responds in wisdom and he understands that this is more powerful then these “tigers.” He knows the stillness of those who have put their full trust in the Lord and how that posture puts the enemy on the defense.
As these tigers sniff out their prey they are quick to attack those who say they belong to the Lord but still live apart from His truth, peace and strength.
Fear has a scent. Doubt has a scent. Anger has a scent. Judgment has a scent. It is the scent of weakness and limited human strength.
The fear of the Lord has a fragrance. Faith has a fragrance. Peace has a fragrance. And mercy has a fragrance. This is the fragrance of strength and the power of God.
It is time to douse yourself in the fragrance of heaven. The scent of mixture is this tigers favorite scent. It will be provoke a reaction that gives way to a great attack. Ask the Lord to remove every hindrance that is reactive to this threat. Receive the fragrance of faith, hope and love.
The tiger is on the move seeking who he might devour but the Lion of Judah is about to roar through you and devour the devourer!
