Notes From Your Father

By Kathi Pelton

If there is one thing that I know beyond a shadow of doubt, it is that God’s love and affections for us are extraordinarily greater than we can ever imagine. I believe that when we finally stand before Him and begin to comprehend the depth and heights of His love— we will wish that we had understood this reality while we lived this life.

Most people like to have “post it” notes on hand. We write reminders to ourselves on them, scriptures on them and love notes to our kids and spouses on them. Social media is like an online post-it note to all of our friends and acquaintances out there where we can post something to make others smile (well, not all use it for that but that is another subject).

I have discovered that God loves to post messages to us all of the time. They are his personal love notes to each one of His kids that say, “I love you, I know you, I see you and I am sending a kiss from above to you.”

I love finding these notes and want to encourage you to begin to look for them and receive them— not as just coincidences or happenstances— but as notes from above. Directly from God to you.

I have one friend who absolutely loves rainbows. Each time she sees one she feels God’s presence and love. And because of this, she sees more rainbows than any other person that I know. Everywhere she goes a rainbow appears. It’s like rainbows follow her. It is God’s love note to her.

For me, God leaves these love notes in nature. I am always finding His very personal notes to me that cause my heart to leap for joy.

It takes childlike faith to receive these messages of love but if you dare to believe, you will soon be convinced because you’ll discover that there is no way that so many coincidences can happen to you.

For example— one day I was walking with my daughter-in-law and we were talking about how pretty clovers are. I told her that when I was a child I would lay in large patches of clover and search for a four leafed one— because I knew that they were rare and hard to find. Yet, I never found one. Within a few minutes of our discussion we came upon a patch of clovers and she jokingly said, “Maybe you’ll find one now.” I looked down as we laughed and right in front of one of my feet was a large four leafed clover! Or, a post it note from God just to make me smile and to remind me that He answers the desires of my heart. These things happen to me all of the time but I believe it’s because I’ve learned to look and expect— and believe that He loves us like a good father.

I have a photo on my phone from this very date,November 19, a couple of years ago. It is from a walk I took with my husband and another couple. We were visiting the most magical Christmas town in Washington State and experiencing His love in the sweetest ways when we came upon a puddle of water in the shape of a heart and when we stood at it, it reflected our faces.

I felt Him remind me that we are always in His heart and how clearly He sees us.

That photo came up on my memories today and it made me want to remind each of you of how much you are loved. Begin to look for notes from above— post it notes from heaven that will bring you joy.

You are not only loved but His deep affections are toward you always. Even when you stumble, your desire to get up and try again wins His affections toward you. Your longing for Him, your reaching for Him and your persistence in following Him is not only noticed but stirs His affections. He wants you to know how much you are on His mind. Watch for notes from above— notes that say, “I see you and I love you!”

We are deeply grateful for all who have supported us throughout the years. We pray continuously for each of you and your families.

Will you take a moment to pray for us? We have had an unusual amount of sickness and unexpected urgent expenses that have come in the past two months.

If you would also sow into us at this time it would be greatly appreciated and would help us immensely.

Thank you and wishing our fellow American friends a very happy Thanksgiving. We are praying for the peace of Jerusalem and peace on earth— good will toward all.
