The Lord brought back to my heart and mind a vision that I had of people breaking their watches and pouring all of the pieces over the feet of Jesus.
Why?
During a worship service a couple of years ago, someone began sharing about bringing a gift before our King. He saw these gifts likened to the alabaster jar that was poured out over the feet of Jesus. He shared how he heard in his spirit people saying, “What can I give to my king?” As he spoke these words I went into a vision.
The vision was of people reaching into their pockets to look for something to offer the Lord. They sought for a gift to give to their king. As the people searched through their pockets, each one of them unexpectedly found a pocket watch. Immediately they seemed to understand the significance of this being the perfect gift to bring and put at the feet of Jesus. But they didn’t just lay down these pocket watches— they began breaking them and putting every piece at His feet.
They broke the glass front, the watch hands then fell out upon his feet, the face of the watch fell upon His felt and then the clock wheels fell at his feet— every part of it. Then finally the chain that connected them to their personal time.
These people were giving Jesus their time. Every moment, every minute, every hour and every day— every cycle and every chain that bound them to time being their own. They were giving him the most precious thing they possessed…their time.
Every moment was being offered to him as a gift and it was as precious as the perfume poured out so very long ago.
What a perfect gift from those of us who value our time so highly and hold onto our personal time so tightly. As we finished this final month of the year— could we enter the new year by laying down our time and all that chains us to ownership of that time at His feet?
TIME! A gift to our King who gave His all for us so that we will be given endless time— eternity!
