Oceans in the Desert

This article was written one year ago today but the Lord brought it back to my remembrance because we are once again seeing the plumb line of heavenly alignment sent down; first upon His house. It is measuring the standard of the Lord (the fear of the Lord) upon those who have been entrusted with much. I see a “changing of the guards” in this hour as God removes those who have not aligned with the fear of the Lord as their standard. It is His mercy upon them and upon the church. Many “unknowns” or those who have been faithfully allowing alignment and purity to come upon their lives will be raised up in this time but you will “see the Lord” when you see them.

Do not be alarmed at the sifting and purging because God always cleans His house first. Holiness and the fear of the Lord is the standard. None of us are exempt from this and we all must go low and ask the Lord to search our hearts for any place that does not align. Do not be discouraged by the exposing of sin in the family of God because it is unto alignment (if those exposed are willing). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and be sure to not get too caught up in what is being exposed but rather invite His plumb line to measure your character; the standard that you live by.

Here is the word from one year ago today:

Our Heavenly Father is looking for sons and daughters that He can trust. As a parent, it always brings me great joy to watch my children grow into mature and trustworthy adults. As they grow in Godly character, integrity, wisdom, humility and a strong work ethic, I know that they will be entrusted with more and more.

God is raising up children that He can entrust with His house and His household. Wise children, who heed the wisdom of their father and mother, become a blessing to the whole family but foolish children, who are reckless and careless, bring hardship upon the whole family. The foolish ones do not act as sons but live independent from the wisdom once taught to them.

In Luke 12:42-45 the Lord tells us a story that paints this picture,

“A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.”

He then goes on to tell about the servant who does not heed the instructions of the master but instead acts foolishly while he is away; that servant is banished and not trusted with what belongs to the master.

Just as in this story, the Lord is looking for “faithful and sensible” servants (sons and daughters) who will be rewarded and given charge over more. It is important to be faithful and wise with the small things so that you can be trusting with the more! We must not despise the time of small beginnings because that is where we prove ourselves trustworthy.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” Zechariah 4:10

The plumb line is the tool that checks vertical alignment. In the scriptures it is a term used to keep God’s people from crooked ways. As we allow the plumb line of God’s ways and truth to become the plumb line of our life we will be found faithful and sensible in all that we do; whether small or large.

I believe that the Lord is raising up a generation that will walk according to His righteousness plumb line and they will be entrusted with “the more”. Many want more but have yet to be found faithful with the small. This is a time for the sons and daughters who heed His voice, His instructions and His plumb line to receive their reward and to be given more. It is also a time for the gift of repentance to be received by those who have not been rightly aligned; it is not too late.

“…When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.” Luke‬ ‭12:48‬ ‭

I see in my spirit the Lord preparing to “entrust more to faithful sons and daughters”. His plumb line is being held over many lives and ministries (even businesses) in order to bring alignment for the sake of promotions with “the more.” Now is the time to ask for the Spirit of the Lord to align you (and all that you have been entrusted with) with His perfect ways. It is time for the crooked ways to be made straight because there is a great work ahead.

Allow His plumb line to be held over you so that a vertical alignment will come upon you and all that you are building on this earth.

Just as Jesus prayed this over His disciples, I pray it over you today,

“Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.” John‬ ‭17:17‬ ‭
