Oceans in the Desert

Yesterday I was spending time in worship and one of my favorite songs came on— “Lean Back.” As it played I found myself leaning back into the loving arms of my Heavenly Father and as I did— every burden, every anxious thought, every urge to take control just washed away.
I was taken into a place of rest and peaceful joy in his presence that has not left me. I was brought into the present moment (rather than running ahead with my thoughts), as the Father held me close.

As this happened, I felt his comfort, compassion and his love for all
of his children in such a tangible way. I felt his invitation extended to each of you— take time to “lean back into the arms of your loving Father.” The song goes on to say, “Breathe deep and know that He is good— He’s a love like no other.”

It is time for you to breathe deep and take in all of his goodness and love— for he truly is a love like no other. He will refresh you, renew you, strengthen you and comfort you. He will also remove every anxious thought from you and replace it with a peace that guards your heart and mind.

It’s time to get still and take the time to lean back! Time in “Daddy’s lap” is always the best time. You are never too old or too mature to become like a child and rest in his love. He is inviting into his loving arms— it’s a love like no others!
