“Why Not Us?”

Why Not Us?
by Kathi Pelton

As most of us witness from afar the outpouring of God’s Spirit at Asbury University and other college campuses, we yearn for these first fruits of revival to overflow from city to city. At Lee University, in Cleveland, Tennessee— a handful of students thought, “Why not us?” So they gathered in the chapel and began to pray together until His Spirit fell upon them and another outpouring began.

On February 1st at 4:44 am, the Lord spoke to me that February would be the month that the outpouring of His Spirit on our offspring would begin. He then took me to Isaiah 44:4,

“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.” Isaiah‬ ‭44‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭

I want to say to those of all ages— “Why not us?” Will we dare to believe that if we come, He will pour out His Spirit upon our dry and thirsty ground? Will we gather with no agenda, no time restraints, no pressure to please an audience and wait for His Spirit to be poured out?

Why not us? Why not you? Why not your city, your campus, your church or even your family?

Salvations are being reported, people are being supernaturally delivered from oppression and addiction. Repentance is falling upon people and it is breaking down walls of separation between them and God. And God’s love is being poured out— poured out like rain upon dry ground.

This is how it is supposed to be so will you ask, “Why not me?” Isaiah 44:3-4 is for you and your descendants— your offspring— YOU!

There is a mighty rushing wind blowing and it is blowing life upon His people. It is like receiving spiritual CPR that revives, restores and resurrects. Cycles of death are being replaced by God’s “Ruah”— Ruah is translated by three primary words: wind, breath, and spirit. Anxiety, panic, depression, trauma, grief and death will be swallowed up in resurrection life as His breath and the outpouring of His Spirit come upon us.

We call for the wind, the breath and the Spirit to come— “even so come!” Why not us?

My husband, Jeffrey and I are currently in the Washington D.C. region on a prayer assignment. Last night we began to experience the breathe of His Spirit being poured out upon those who have been working in some of the darkest parts of government in Washington D.C.. It was so powerful and it is merely beginning!

We will be here through February 24th— praying, ministering and following His Spirit as He leads us. Please consider covering us in prayer and supporting this assignment financially— the costs are great. Thank you. To send a financial gift, go to:
