A Word For The Weary

A Word for the Weary
Kathi Pelton

As I sat down to pray and write, Papa God began to pour out His deep compassion for His sons and daughters who are battle-weary. The compassion that flowed was like strong arms reaching out to hold and lift up the weary ones. As I experienced this embrace from Father God for His weary ones, I heard the words from Matthew 11:28-30:

“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’”

If you are weary, allow all of the weariness, the heaviness, and the pain to fall at His feet as you fall into His outstretched arms. He will take the burden that is too heavy for you to carry. As your Heavenly Father holds you, Jesus’ light burden will come upon you to comfort you and to give you rest.

Do not worry about what is ahead or what lies behind because He is before you and behind you— He is FOR you! He is surrounding you with His love and kindness. He is blanketing you with warmth and protection. His angels have been sent to stand guard around you and to minister to you— even to battle for you.

Your Daddy loves you so very much. His goodness and tenderness is with you, right where you are today. He is the lifter of your head. There is nothing that you have done to diminish His love for you or to separate you from His outstretched arms.

The words from Psalm 3 are for you today,

So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. I cried out to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy mountain. I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me. I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. Arise, O Lord! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked! Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people. ” Psalm 3:2-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

‭‭You are not alone and He is with you to carry that which has become too heavy for you to bear the weight of. He will not only carry the burden but He will carry you.

  1. Oh Kathi, thank you for the Ecouraging Words. It was this afternoon I cried out to the Lord that He would help me out of this wilderness – telling Him that I’m so tired – when a call came through from one of my cousins who I’ve been praying for about getting her own place.. She called to say that she will be closing on a condo in a month. That news surely lifted my spirit. Being so happy for her I had forgotten how I was feeling and went back to my reading. With that said I pray my change is near.. God bless you Kathi.
