Oceans in the Desert

In many nations the first of May is set aside as a day honoring workers (laborers)— the struggles and gains of those who labor. Although some of it’s origins are rooted in a pagan fertility goddess— the Lord has often spoke to me on May 1st about a blessing coming upon His people. I love how He redeems the days that He created.

I wondered if the Lord would have anything to say regarding May 1st, 2023 but heard nothing throughout the majority of the day. Then at 4 pm I heard the Spirit of the Lord say,

“Though many of my people have labored and worked tirelessly for what I have placed before them, some have wondered if they have labored in vain. They see their life as endless work resulting in what looks to them like an empty basket. Tell My faithful ones that I am preparing baskets filled with abundance to deliver to them.”

The traditional gift given on May Day to friends and neighbors are baskets with flowers, gifts, sweets and provisions. As I recalled this, I saw a vision of heavenly baskets being prepared and filled with surprises for God’s faithful workers— even answers to their prayers.

I also heard the sound of many “May Day” distress calls and yet, even before you called out He heard your heart cry and began preparing your answer. Your faithful work has NOT been in vain— the Lord sees you and will reward you. As you have been obedient to follow Him, honor His call upon your life and walk in the fear of the Lord— He has ordered a time of celebrating you and rewarding you.

Where you have felt boxed in or in a narrow place— I see stall doors being opened to a wide pasture before you. You will step out into vibrant green grasslands with the sun breaking through the clouds providing warmth and joy for you. You will have room to grow and to live in a more abundant way— for you and your family.

I hear the words, “You will bear fruit and you will multiply again and again.” Your posture of trusting in His faithfulness, even amid struggling, has been recognized and you are at a threshold or gateway of entering new spiritual territory and surprising blessings.

Mark your calendar— MAY 1st, 2023! May Day will not be merely a distress call from your mouth but a day marking with joyful praise. A turnaround and blessings from your Heavenly Father will come to many of you. You will dance before Him with joy as you declare His faithfulness and goodness.

“‘May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’” Numbers‬ ‭6‬:‭24‬-‭26‬ ‭
