It’s Time To Uncage The Lion Within
Kathi Pelton
This past Sunday during our worship service we were singing the song “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake. There is a line in the song that says, “Come on my soul, don’t you get shy on me, lift up your song cause you’ve got a lion inside of your lungs, so get up and praise the Lord.” As soon as we entered into that part of the song, the Holy Spirit took me into a vision that I’d like to share with you.
Vision:
I was shown many believers who had the Lion of Judah living in their hearts but he was in a cage like an animal in a zoo. He was pawing at the ground with his front foot, greatly desiring to be freed. Then I saw that the cage door was unlocked but the lion would only leave if the person whose heart he was living in willingly opened it. Although he could force his way out— he would not. Then I saw these believers begin to open the door to this cage to loose the lion within. I heard the Lord ask them, “Can I also dismantle the cage and remove it from your heart altogether?” As they said yes the Lion of Judah began to move like a lion on the hunt through every part of their life. He was searching out every save enemy of their soul— for these enemies had taken up residence in their lives and were illegally trespassing in them. The Lion of Judah would not share the life of his son or daughter with demons. As each enemy was destroyed and removed, the lion would roar a deafening roar of freedom over that person and out of them would come extravagant praise.
End of vision.
Is there a cage in your heart that keeps the Lion of Judah contained and controlled? Is there a cage of fear that has been erected around the Lion in your heart that you haven’t been ready to surrender— or open up? Is there a cage of distrust or doubt in his faithfulness that has stopped him from having free reign? Has shame or pride caged him?
If so, the Lord (who is the Lion) is deeply desiring to defend you, to fight for you and to protect you from the enemies that have tormented you and kept you from your true identity— and from your freedom and joy. It is time to open the gate of that cage and let him out! Then go one step further and allow the cage to be dismantled and removed.
Give him free reign in every part of you and then watch freedom come, courage come, victories come, joy come and extravagant praise come like a roar of victory!
“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
