By Kathi Pelton
I have been meditating on Psalm 34 for the past few weeks. It is full of hope, the promises of God’s goodness, help and deliverance.
One verse stood out to me this morning as I sought the Lord,
“Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” Psalms 34:5
As I read this verse I saw a picture/vision of mounting circumstances becoming like tall mountains before God’s people. These mounting circumstances were casting shadows upon people and causing their perspective to be skewed. I saw them beginning to bow down their heads in shame as the shadows of these mountains (mounting circumstances) darkened their view.
Then I began hearing the sound of a massive bulldozer start. I asked the Spirit what he was saying and I heard,
“I am about to remove the mountains of impossible circumstances that are casting dark shadows and shame on my people.”
We look to the Lord for our help. Psalm 34:5 says that those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy. When I saw the numbers 3,4,5 (Ps. 34:5) I saw it as a sequence of steps:
- Look to the Lord for help
- Radiant joy comes upon you
- No shadow of shame darkens your face
Though circumstances have mounted in front of you, there is a posture that takes you above the natural circumstances and restores you to your Heavenly position; seated with Christ Jesus. There peace prevails and his promises are sure.
“For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:6
From this posture you will not be subject to any shadow of shame. For there is the fullness of joy in his presence and no lack of any good thing.
Watch as God’s heavenly bulldozer removes the mountain that stands before you. Your joy will be radiant as you watch the faithfulness and steadfast love of God come to your rescue.
For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him. Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the LORD, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.” Psalms 34:6-9
Call to the Lord in your desperation; He will save you. He will surround you and defend you. You will have all that you need as you fear the Lord more than the circumstances that have mounted before you. You will taste and see that the Lord is good and no shadow will darken you from the light of his presence.

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Luke 6:38
