Do You Feel Like You In A Free Fall?YOU WILL FLY!

By Kathi Pelton

Have you ever had one of those dreams where you are in a free fall and then wake up right before you hit the ground? Some of you feel like your actual life is this like that dream and you are wondering if you will be saved before you hit the ground.

The Spirit of the Lord knows every aspect of your life and though it feels like you’re in a free fall with no one to catch you, know this— at the perfect moment the wind of the Spirit will come and lift you up in order to carry you to where you are to land.

You will be rescued and saved!

You may be in a time that you’re leaving an old place to enter into a new place. Transitions, adjustments and changes are hard and often we need a bit of a push or most of us would not take the jump. Just like a baby bird that has had the gentle push from its mother to leave the nest; your Heavenly Father is right there with you to assure that you do not hit the ground or be taken out by those who would seek to devour you.

The fear of free falling can trigger tumbling, grasping, screaming and a sense of feeling out of control. The feeling is real but the outcome will not be as you might suppose. The Lord is with you and has imparted to you what you need to fly. So, spread out your arms and watch them become wings. As you extend your arms in faith and trust, the wind of the Spirit will catch you and carry you. Remember, panic will merely serve to increase the tumbling and spinning but surrender will posture you to fly and enjoy the ride.

If you feel like you’re in a free fall due to an adverse event or situation that has been thrust upon you— again, God will never leave you or forsake you. You are not given over to the storms of life— God will teach you to use the winds of adversity to fly— taking you faster and further than you ever dreamed. The One who has overcome all adversity, suffering and even death will send the wind of his Spirit to lift you up and carry you to the place of His safety and deliverance— even great blessings. Even the angels have been given charge concerning your well being.

Do not fear! He will rescue you, honor you and save you.

“Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”” Psalm‬ ‭91:3-16‬ ‭

If you took a step of faith to move out of one place and advanced into a new place but now you feel like you stepped off a cliff and are falling— this is where you trust beyond what you feel. It is time to use your faith wings to stop the free fall and begin to fly.

God is with you and he will uphold you. He will get you to where you need to be as you trust in him. He’s training you to fly and to know how to maneuver (live and move) in a new way.

YOU ARE NOT FALLING— YOU ARE FLYING!

Some of you are in a season of stepping out of comfortable places that you have outgrown. You will have to use the faith you have grown to ride the wind of his Spirit. Just as a baby bird feels as though it’s in a free fall when it leaves the nest for the first time but then it begins to flap its wings in desperation and realized that during it’s time in the nest it grew flight feathers— and now it can fly. You have grown faith, trust and an obedient heart in your past season that will now carry you in the new way.

YOU ARE NOT FALLING— YOU ARE FLYING!

It is time to exercise your faith and to fly into the unknown with a trust in God that lifts you to new heights.
