Yesterday as I was driving through the vineyards of Sonoma County, California I was admiring the beauty of the rows of green vines when suddenly I noticed that one field was no longer green but had already begun turning the magnificent colors of Fall. It stood out among all of the green vineyards with all of its golden hues and beauty. There were miles and miles of green vineyards but this one stood out like a glorious golden field of vines.
If you’ve ever seen the wine country in the early Fall— you’ll agree that it is breathtaking. The colors of gold, red, orange and browns glow in radiant light on hill after hill. Yet today, all were green except the one field that stood out like an announcement,
“Get ready, the seasons are changing.”
My family is definitely in an early season change as we just moved our home, family and ministry back to the wine country of Northern California after twelve years away. It’s an interesting season change for us because in one respect everything looks almost the same as when we left and yet we know that everything is also different— a dozen years have passed and the land and people have changed with the years that we have been gone— and we have changed too. We have been pruned, refined and had the Master gardener tending to our vines.
As I looked on that one singular vineyard that stood out among the rest with its vibrant colors I felt like the Lord said,
“My vines (people) will stand out among the rest in this next season.”
We have gone through years of refining and pruning as his people and we are now going to see HIS VINEYARD on full display as we wear the robes of HIS righteousness and the light of HIS glory. There has been a shedding of “our righteousness” (which is merely filthy rags and self-righteousness) and a repentance of taking credit or glory for ourselves. This has made room for the purity of his righteousness and his glory to be seen upon his people…his vineyard.
I saw his people like that one vineyard that was displaying all the golden hues of Fall amid the miles and miles of green vineyards. We are the planting of the Lord and he has been tending to his vines and will bring forth a new wine that will be like no other before!
But this season will be one that displays HIS GLORY. His gold, his light, his purity and his beauty will shine through his vineyard— his people.
Where there has been a darkness cast upon the church through years of exposures — now a change of season is upon us and the display of his beauty will shine forth removing the shadows of darkness from the past seasons.
This beauty will capture the attention of those who pass by because his church will stand out in radiant beauty and light. There will be a noticeable distinction and it will represent the Lord in a way that draws men unto him like never before. The world will know that something different is upon his church— something that draws them and awakens spiritual hunger for truth, purity, and freedom from sins darkness.
As Fall approaches we will see his church arise. It will surprise even us— because it will be something we cannot produce in ourselves but that comes upon us like a robe of glory placed upon his church— his vineyard.
The season is changing and it will be glorious as the beauty and glory of the Lord is revealed through his people.
“In that day— “Sing about a fruitful vineyard: I, the LORD, watch over it; I water it continually. I guard it day and night so that no one may harm it.”
Isaiah 27:2-3 NIV

We have entered a new season as a ministry— we believe that God has planted us in a new land to be fruitful and spiritually prosperous.
Prayerfully sow into this new season for Inscribe Ministries. Thank you!
