As I awoke in the very early hours of the morning today the Holy Spirit began to speak to me about this day. He said that He has given us the “manna of grace for this day”. I was a bit confused in hearing the words “manna of grace” but then He began to reveal His meaning behind these words.
In Exodus 16 we read about how God provided manna for His people each morning during their years in the desert. The manna was only good for that one day (other than on the 6th day when they could gather double for the Sabbath). If the people tried to hoard it or save the manna for another day it would spoil. Each day they were able to eat all that was provided and believe that the next morning God would provide once again.
This is true with our daily lives regarding grace. God provides the grace and provision for each day. Often we try to figure out tomorrow and put today’s grace onto tomorrow and it spoils it. The Holy Spirit is giving you the promise that you will be provided for each and every day. DO NOT WORRY LITTLE FLOCK!
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Then Luke 12:32 goes on to say,
32“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
God has today covered! He has provided the manna called grace for this day. Eat of it and do not worry about tomorrow. There will be new grace and provision for tomorrow. You are His precious flock and He is your Good Shepherd. Your Heavenly Father will provide for you, clothe you and shelter you. Allow Him to wash all the worry away. Today is your day of grace and peace. His promise is true and you can rest assured that tomorrow is in His hands.
Have a beautiful, worry-free day!
