This past Sunday I was taken into a vision where I saw a wall that protected each of God’s people from the thief (the enemy). This wall was built out of stones that declared His faithfulness. They were like colored stones (or precious stones) that represented the different aspects of His faithfulness and promises. It was a high wall that was fortified by the faith of the believer that it was placed there to protect and it was built upon the timeline of their lives.
As I looked out upon each of these amazing walls (each individual had their own wall), I began to notice places that were broken down and darkened. They were gaps where I saw that breaches had been created and the thief could enter in through. I asked the Lord what had created these gaps (or broken places) and immediately He showed me moments or seasons in these individuals lives where a hardship or trial had come and in great discouragement they aligned with lies that declared that “God was not faithful”. Whether through agreeing with doubt, despair, accusations against God’s character or words that compromised the truth of His faithfulness; that place in their wall had a gap and the colorful stones were knocked down and dark (blackened).
Then I heard Him speak these words,
“I am repairing the walls of my people’s lives so that the enemy can no longer breach it and rob them of my promise of abundant life. Tell them to declare My faithfulness and the attributes of My faithfulness over the timeline of their lives.”
I shared this with the people of our church this past Sunday and then I had them stand up and together we began to declare God’s faithfulness into the gaps and broken places in the wall of our lives (history and timeline). These declarations, along with repentance for agreeing with the enemy, were rebuilding the wall of His faithfulness and bringing back the color to these precious stones. The wall of His faithfulness that protected them from the thief (John 10:10) was being fortified so that they could live in abundant life.
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” John 10:10 AMP
We all have had battles with doubt and unbelief, but if there have been times and seasons where you allowed words of agreement that declared something other than His absolute faithfulness then now is the time to renounce and repent of those agreements and to declare His faithfulness! Shout out the words of His faithfulness and character over the places of compromised truth that allowed gaps in the wall of your life that the enemy has been breaching.
• Over every agreement with doubt we declare, “I believe in Your faithfulness with unwavering confidence!”
• Over every agreement that blamed God for things we experienced, we repent and declare, “You are blameless!”
• Over every accusation that was spoken by our mouths or entertained in our hearts, that stood against God and His character; we renounce those words and nullify their power. We declare, “You are faithful and true, pure and holy, good and kind, abounding in perfect love!”
• Over every moment or season in our past that we have aligned with a compromise regarding the faithfulness of God; we repent and declare over those times, “You are and have always been faithful to me!”
We now evict the thief and his cohorts who have used these gaps in the walls of our lives to rob us of the fullness of the abundant life that God intended for us. We receive the grace and mercy that the cross has provided. We declare that our lives will testify of the faithfulness of our God and the world will see the manifestation of God’s faithfulness resting upon His Bride. Then they will know that HE IS LORD!
Declare it! “Faithful You are! Faithful, forever You will be!” Declare it daily, declare it in the storm, declare it in the battle, declare it in the victory. It is your testimony and your truth!

What an amazing reality to know that when you wake up each morning that His presence is right there with you. Then, when you lay down at night He remains present— and in every moment throughout each day.
When I was a young believer and newly married I got up one morning to see my young husband prostate on the floor in prayer. I could tell that he was weeping and I was deeply moved by the tenderness in my husband’s heart. When he finally got up from the floor I looking at his tear stained face and said,
“Wow, you must have had a powerful time with Jesus!”
He shocked me because he responded by saying, “No, I wasn’t able to breakthrough into His presence.”
I stood before him utterly confused because I had read the verse from Deuteronomy 31:6-8 that says,
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
I had only been a believer a short time but I was sure that we didn’t have to “breakthrough into His presence!” Somewhere in my young husband’s sensitive conscience and desire to “be holy” he had come to believe that he had to work to gain access into the presence of God; the enemy was only too happy to convince him that he’d never done enough to arrive (thankfully, God set him free of that lie!).
We may have to “strive to enter into rest”; not because we have to earn it but because we have to train our souls to surrender to trust and peace; but His presence is with us always. He’s not absent, distant, mad or critical— He waits, watches and does not ever waver in His faithfulness to be with us always.
The knowledge that He is always with me and His Spirit (which is Him!) dwells within me changes everything. The God who spoke the entirety of creation into existence is with us always! There is nothing that you will go through or face alone. NOTHING!
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2
You continually have all that you need because He is with you. Your comforter, deliverer, provider, protector, friend, warrior, counselor, teacher, helper, lover, King and Savior is present with you day and every night. Not because you did anything to earn it but because His death on the cross tore the veil that separated us. It is grace that opened up the way. He paid the full price for His presence to be opened up to us. We can boldly and confidently go before His throne!
I want to say it again…HIS PRESENCE CHANGES EVERYTHING!! He is before you, behind you and beside you. He’s been where you are going and He’s been where you have already gone.
I am continually in awe when I look back on my life at how at every turn He’s prepared the way for me. Of course I’ve faced my share of hard times and even seasons of deep grief, but He was always present to comfort me and make a way through the wilderness. The older I get the more I can look back on my own journey as a living testimony that declares, “He has never left me, nor forsaken me!”
I woke up today with such a tangible awareness of His presence with me and around me. It filled me with such expectation of wondering what He will do next— because everything changes in His presence!
“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11
What amazing and unfathomable thing will He surprise us with today? Yesterday He surprised dear friends of ours with a testimony that left me in such awe! When I heard the testimony of what God did, I wanted to run into the arms of Jesus and embrace Him for being so very good and faithful. His faithfulness toward them overflowed onto me like a flood of joy.
He is with you and in His presence is joy (Ps. 16:11) , peace and rest (Ex. 33:14), refreshing (Acts 3:20-21), help (John14:26), wisdom and instruction (Ps. 25:5-9), mercy and grace (Heb. 4:16), salvation (Zep. 3:17), justice (Ps. 37:5-6), fruitfulness (Jer. 17:7-8)…and so much more!
Release His presence into all that is around you…and watch as it changes everything.

Each Friday I write a prayer and declaration for a ministry organization that we are a part of. Today, as I wrote the declaration, I felt to share it with you as well.
God is dealing with the opposition and resistance that has come against His people. He is giving you a “spirit of overcoming” as you stand firm in His Word as absolute truth. Put all doubt, fear and unbelief under your feet and declare the words below. Break the cycles of wavering between two opinions according to circumstances and stand firm and unwavering upon His truth and promises. Often the open doors that allows the “thief” to in come is a door of doubt. God is a god of abundance and we are being asked to close and lock the doors of doubt and wavering about His goodness.
Here is the prayer and declaration for you. Declare it everyday until you have overcome and until it repairs the gaps in wall around your life. It’s time to fortify the walls of truth that guard you.
Prayer and Declaration
“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
“ I prophesy out of 2 Corinthians 9:8, declaring that God’s abundant blessings will manifest upon me and my family. I say with confident assurance that me, my family and my household will have all that we need at all times. We will lack no good thing and the work of the Kingdom will not be hindered or thwarted by the opposition that comes in the form of lack.
The Spirit is speak saying that He will prosper my “Yes!” I say yes to Him once again and I say “Yes and amen” to His promise to prosper my “yes.”
I break all agreements with thoughts, expectation and fears of lack, doubt and poverty. I enter into the confident faith and assurance that God will abundantly bless me and my household with all that we need in each season so that we abound in every good work.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
I come to you Father right now, in both prayer and petition, bringing my requests for financial provision and supernatural resources, so that we all abound in every good work. I thank you that the promised provision of abundant blessings in all that I need is being made manifest even now. I also bring my prayers and petitions on behalf of every Kingdom work being done in the body of Christ before you. Thank you that the work will prosper and abound; lacking nothing but prospering in response to every yes! You are good and forever faithful to keep your promise and to bless the work of our hands. Thank you Father for your Son, for making us heirs of salvation and for being our help in times of trouble. -Amen-
Now go forth in praise and thanksgiving, knowing that He is the God of more than enough. You will overcome the cycles of wavering, doubt and lack. You will walk and live in the abundant life promised to you in John 10:10!

Last night a group of seven of us went to a very oppressed area of downtown Portland to do a prayer-walk (we’ve been prayer walking this area for the past six months). Though we had a very effectual night with amazing breakthrough, what our eyes had to look upon could grieve even the hardest heart. There were so many lives snared in the net of demonic oppression and addiction. Yet, as we stood on a particularly dark corner one of our team members said that the song, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, was running through his mind the whole night but the word “turn” was changed to “fix.” We all stood in the midst of the darkness (even people screaming at us) and began to sing,
Fix your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace…
As we sang, prayed and declared we watched as the things of earth grew dim. We fixed our gaze on the beauty of Jesus and the darkness was dispelled in the midst of His light. From that point on we had miraculous breakthroughs that we had been praying for over many months.
I share this testimony with you because the change and freedom came when we “fixed our gaze upon Jesus” in the midst of darkness.
“I have asked one thing from the Lord; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the Lord and seeking [Him] in His temple.” Psalm 27:4
As we fixed our gaze upon His beauty the darkness around us began to tremble. There were physical and natural happenings that we witnessed in response to the light and beauty being brought into the midst of darkness and depravity. We honestly stood in awe at what we witnessed last night because it was supernatural.
Though we shouldn’t have been surprised, honestly we were greatly shocked and surprised at the turn of events. I should know this truth well because in my personal life I strive to continually “fix my gaze” on Jesus and His beauty day and night. The sight of Him and “dwelling in His temple” has become my refuge and my fortress.
When trials or storms come, fixing my gaze upon Him becomes the place where my perspective is aligned with truth and victory. Fixing my eyes upon His beauty lifts me out of the circumstance that seek to “steal my gaze.” It lifts me from the captivity of fear into the freedom of the finished work of Christ.
If you are going through a storm and all you can see is the wind and waves, then now is the time to turn your eyes upon Jesus and fix your gaze upon His beauty. It will not only lift you above the storm but it will also calm the storm.
Often we empower storms or assignments sent against us when we fix our focus on them. The enemy seeks to steal our gaze and our light through darkness and fear. When this happens, we actually become a force that strengthens the storm rather than calms the storm. As you refocus your gaze upon Jesus it releases His power to calm the storm and moves you into freedom.
“For all creation, gazing eagerly as if with outstretched neck, is waiting and longing to see the manifestation of the sons of God.” Romans 8:19
As we fixed our gaze on Jesus last night we saw creation respond. Creation was waiting for the sons and daughters of God to arrive on the scene in a place where darkness was given dominion. Though there is still much work to do, we found that as we fixed our gaze upon His beauty and released what we saw, the mountains trembled and demons began to flee. Light dispels darkness, beauty transforms depravity, love overcomes hate! This works in our personal lives as well as in our cities and nations.
If you need freedom from oppression and circumstances that have left you captive; turn your gaze! Refocus your attention and your eyes upon His beauty and watch as peace comes upon you and the storm is stilled. Your perspective will change but circumstances will shift as well.
Fix your gaze and watch freedom come!

I hear the Lord’s whispering to His Bride today saying, “Will you draw near to Me?”
Life pulls at us to give our time, energy and focus to everything but stillness. It truly is the greatest wrestle for people. Taking time daily to be still and draw near to God is immediately met with a battle of distraction in the mind and heart.
I often begin my “drawing near time” by praying out of Philippians 4:7,
“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
His peace comes to guard my heart and mind from distraction so that I can draw near.
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…” James 4:8(a)
To draw near to someone takes intentionality. When I was a young mom in ministry, I had to set days aside to draw near to my children, to my husband and to my source of life, Jesus.
There was the constant “need of others” vying for my time and attention. It took time and a maturing process but I had to learn that I was not other’s “Savior” and that when I drew away from the crowds to draw near to God or my family, I was not neglecting or abandoning the call of God upon my life or my commitment to others.
There were times that I faced criticism and judgements when I drew back but even Jesus knew when to leave the crowds to draw near to His Father or to His family (the disciples).
A number of months ago I heard the Lord calling me to “come away with Him to draw near to Him for an extended time.” It was at a time that my entire family was leaving to go to an important family event in another state. I wrestled with the invitation to “draw near” because I knew that this time with our extended family was a once in a lifetime experience. But the Spirit was persistent and continued to whisper an invitation to “stay behind and draw near to Him.”
Finally, I spoke with my family and they quickly blessed me to stay behind. When they drove away I went directly to my bedroom with my Bible and my journal to lay down on the floor to draw near to God.
Over the next three days God drew near to me in deep, constant intimacy. As I accepted His invitation to draw near to Him, He drew near to me with profound presence, amazing affections, deep intercession, refreshing and renewal. This time truly reset my life and my intimacy with Him.
The same is true with my husband and children. I tend to be very “single focused” and yet my life is always juggling a hundred different things. When I am doing a task it usually gets all of my attention and focus. This can be a good trait but for my family, who also needs my attention, it can be challenging. My kids (who are all young adults now) have taken to calling me by my full name (rather than Mom) when they can’t get my attention. When I hear the name, “Kathleen” by one of my kids it somehow jolts me out of my ultra focused state and back onto them.
I never want Jesus to have to work hard to get my attention off the work of the Kingdom and back onto the King.
Intimacy is forged as we get still and draw near. I am a very early riser because it is in the quiet of the dawn that I draw near to Him. Yet even then I must be intentional to not allow distractions to draw my mind and heart away.
“…fixing our attention on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of the faith, who, in view of the joy set before him, endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
We must take time to fix our attention on Jesus. We are being invited to draw near and give our undivided attention and affections to the One who gave His all for us.
“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
It is vital to set our minds upon Jesus and intentionally devote time to drawing near to Him. It is then that you will find that He draws near to you in ways that sustain you, renew you, refresh you and draw you into abundant living.
He’s whispering an invitation to you, “Will you draw near to Me today?”
As you say yes, know that He will draw near to you!

Dear Ministry Friends & Partners,
First, thank you all for standing with us, praying for us and supporting us in all that the Lord has asked us to do and the places He has asked us to go. It truly takes a “family” and you are that to us!
Our ministry and family has entered a time of great acceleration where we are seeing our young adult children sent out like arrows shot forth from our quiver. Dreams and prophetic words that we have carried for decades are suddenly coming upon us and upon our children.
God has put a deep call and longing in our hearts throughout the years to walk with the younger generation; to see them thrive in the midst of family. We live this out in our immediate family and with our spiritual sons and daughters locally, nationally and internationally.
Jeffrey and I have expanded our walk with the younger generation as we partner with the Awaken the Dawn movement (http://www.awakenthedawn.org/). This is a company and family of amazing Levite’s (musicians, prayer leaders and sold-out sons and daughters) that have given their “Yes” to the Lord to make the worth of Jesus known throughout our nation while hosting His presence in different states and cities. We are stepping in to carry the baton with them and to disciple them as they run. It is the fathers and mothers and sons and daughters running together as one family.
We will continue to be a part of our global team that is walking with many nations to see God’s family joined in the unity and oneness that Jesus prayed for in John 17:20-23. We also will continue to be the young adults pastors to our “Third Watch” young adults team here in Portland, Oregon that is part of the city transformation and focusing on Portland State University’s reformation.
Lastly, we will continue to encourage the body of Christ through our writings, prophesy, teachings and books. Inscribing the vision is one of our greatest passions.
Due to all that God is opening up before us, our travel schedule has increased immensely in this season. This has also increased our need for prayer and financial partners who will commit to support us on a monthly basis.
We would like to invite you to be a part of our ministry family by becoming a financial partner with us.
We need to raise an additional $4000 per month to cover travel expenses, ministry expenses and personal expenses as we give our full focus to the work of the Kingdom.
We are now preparing to have two months of continual travel throughout North America. We will be going to Idaho, Utah, Montana, Boston, Vermont, Ottawa (Canada), Washington DC, Virginia and further between now and September. If you would like to sow into this extended trip, we would be so very grateful.
If you believe in what we are doing and would like to become a ministry partner through prayer and monthly financial support; go to: https://www.inscribeministries.com/
You can set up an automatic monthly payment through pressing our donation button on the homepage. You can also write to us at: email@example.com to let us know that you have committed to partner with us.
We commit to pray for you and your loved ones. We will host quarterly ZOOM calls with our supporters so that we truly become “family” and can pray with you.
Thank you for your love and “yes” to Jesus! He has spoken to me clearly in this season by saying that He is “Prospering His people’s, ‘YES’.” We say, “Yes!”
With Love and Gratitude, Jeffrey & Kathi Pelton

“My soul yearns for you in the night, and in the morning my spirit searches and looks out for you” Isaiah 26:9
Are you facing a darkness that has left you without sight or light? Throughout my life I have often found that right before the dawn breaks through, the darkness will appear as though it will swallow me alive. I have also learned through those dark moments to stand on the truth that I know rather than on what I see (or in those moments…what I can’t see!).
We often throw around these little quotes such as, “It’s always darkest before the dawn.” or “The end is merely signaling your new beginning.” after we’ve come through the darkness. But if you are standing in the midst of the darkest hour, I’d like to encourage you to make that place a holy place. Allow the yearning of your soul in the dark night to become the sound of surrender. Cry out to the One who is the Light of the World and in the midst of the darkness declare that you have been given a great light.
Rather than let the darkness swallow you, let the light of Christ swallow the darkness. The times in life that leave you standing in the dark can become the most holy moments as you learn to declare His faithfulness and goodness in the face of opposing circumstances. As you declare the truth of who He is and offer the worship that He is due, the darkness suddenly becomes swallowed up in victory.
“Death is swallowed up in victory.” “
O death, where is your victory? O death where is your sting?”” 1 Corinthians 15:55
What if you replace the word death with darkness? Surely darkness is swallowed up in victory when we declare His glorious goodness and light.
Some of my greatest victories have been won in my darkest hours. As I learned to allow His light to shine forth in the darkness, I was given victory over the power of darkness that was seeking to swallow me up. It is time to gain victory over the power that darkness has had over you!
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.” Psalm 40:1-3
The dawn will come and it will illuminate the testimony of Jesus that was forged in the darkness! Just like in Daniel 3 when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego walked in the fire and came forth victorious; so will you!
Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out from the fire. And the satraps, the prefects, the governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together and saw that the fire had not had any power over the bodies of those men. The hair of their heads was not singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and no smell of fire had come upon them. Daniel 3:26-27
The power of darkness will not have consumed you, singed you nor harmed you because you know that the Light of the World is standing there with you. Just like the smell of fire was not found upon these three who walked in the flames, neither will despair, depression or hopelessness come upon you as you recognize that you are not alone in the darkness…for there is another standing with you and there is NO darkness in Him!
Now is the time to raise your hallelujah! Yes, right in the midst of the darkness and in the presence of your enemy. That is when you raise your voice and sing a little louder until you see the darkness flee. The power of the cross will swallow up the power of darkness!
The dawn of victory is about to rise. Let the light of the new day reveal the testimony of Jesus that is being formed in the darkness, while no one is looking. Let darkness hear the sound of your victory song and see the dance of the overcomer. Darkness can not withstand the light…so let your light shine.
This just might be your finest hour!

Some of you have been going through a time of deep pain, deep longing and what you’d describe as a wilderness time. Many years ago I went through such a time and during those few years I honestly wondered if I’d survive the pain and darkness that surrounded my soul.
During that time I was often awake in the middle of the night trying to find my way through the unrelenting pain. One night, in the midst of the thick wilderness, I began to hear the words from the Book of Hosea flowing through my heart like a stream of hope upon my dry and thirsty soul. The words are from Hosea 2:14-23,
““Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will respond as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. “In that day,” declares the Lord, “you will call me ‘my husband’; you will no longer call me ‘my master. ’ I will remove the names of the Baals from her lips; no longer will their names be invoked. In that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky and the creatures that move along the ground. Bow and sword and battle I will abolish from the land, so that all may lie down in safety. I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord. “In that day I will respond,” declares the Lord — “I will respond to the skies, and they will respond to the earth; and the earth will respond to the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, and they will respond to Jezreel. I will plant her for myself in the land; I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one. ’ I will say to those called ‘Not my people, ’ ‘You are my people’; and they will say, ‘You are my God.’ ””
These verses became my lifeline! They gave me purpose in the pain and points for prayer. God hadn’t taken me into the wilderness to ruin me but rather to restore me! In His incredible mercy, He drew me into a place that was set apart because He loved me too much to leave me content with less than the fullness of what He intended for my life.
There, in the wilderness, I became aware of all the “masters of my soul” and I became keenly aware of the captivity that the busyness of my life had hidden in the locked closets of my soul. I was laid bare and in the midst of naked vulnerability He covered me with His love, He healed my wounds, dressed me in His righteousness and He betrothed me to Him; changing my identity to, “I am my Beloved’s and He is mine.” (Songs of Solomon 6:3)
Though it was the most painful time of my life; it was the most important time in my life. I am forever grateful that He “allured me into the wilderness to speak tenderly to me and to restore me.” During that three year wilderness my life was saved and everything changed. I was set free to truly live, truly be loved and truly breathe in the beauty of salvation.
The wilderness is not without purpose! Rarely is it only a moment but rather a journey. My wilderness changed when I began to understand that there was a divine purpose in it. Prior to that it was merely agonizing pain that was leaving me stuck. As soon as I found the purpose through the verses in Hosea, I began to partner with God to walk into freedom upon the path He had forged for me.
Your wilderness is not without purpose. Winter is for only for a season but you must go through that season to get to the springtime. If you are in a wilderness season; you are not in the wilderness alone. God is with you there. You are surrounded by angelic hosts that have been assigned to you— to minister to you. Holy Spirit is with you to reveal the purpose and the path to you. It’s not a place to build homes or remain but a place to journey “through.”
It is a place of redemption! It is a place where you are set free and a place where you are betrothed. My life truly began in the wilderness when I discovered He was there with me. From that point onward I moved forward and left behind the masters I had served and the chains that had held me captive. Some call it, “the dark night of the soul” but I call it the “door of hope.” My valley of weeping became the threshold of true joy and freedom.
When I emerged from this season into my springtime my husband gave me a gift. It was the verses from Songs of Solomon 2:10-13 engraved on slate. They read,
“My beloved spoke and said to me, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me. See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.””
Don’t stop moving forward because the purpose of your wilderness is redemption! The winter will pass and flowers will appear. The sound of the dove’s song will be heard once again. You will bear fruit once again and intimacy will surround you like the fragrance of a garden in full bloom.
You are in a doorway of hope. Though weeping lasts a night…joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).
