There is a popular worship song called, “Nothing Else”, it’s chorus says,
I just want You Nothing else, nothing else Nothing else will do I just want You Nothing else, nothing else Nothing else will do
There may be no truer words ever written. No matter what you think will fill or satisfy your life— if you are not first satisfied with Jesus then you will be left wanting. No place, no person and no desire will ever fill this place.
The longer that I live the more real this truth has become to me. As I’ve realized the fulfillment of many of the promises and prophetic words over my life I find that “I just want him!” As I’ve traveled to other nations, written books, spoken at conferences and raised a beautiful family— the true joy was that my “want” was being met in Christ first!
Seasons come and go, desires come and go and even people come and go…but Jesus remains forever. Nothing else will do!
Blessings are beautiful and they are gifts from God— he truly gives us what we do not deserve. But apart from fully knowing him and being satisfied in him we are still left wanting and lacking.
No one can take him from you and no one can forbid you to have constant (face to face) fellowship with him. No virus, no government, no demon, no lack— not even death! He is constant and faithful through every season and circumstance. His faithfulness does not change and he gives us freedom to soar even when the world removes the freedoms we have known.
So…get caught up in his presence, sit at his feet and experience those holy moments that fill our greatest longings. Nothing else will do!
“Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will show him the way he should choose. He will live a good life, and his descendants will inherit the land. The secret counsel of the Lord is for those who fear Him, and He reveals His covenant to them. My eyes are always on the Lord, for He will pull my feet out of the net.” Psalms 25:12-15
These verses from Psalm 25:12-15 are so great!
This is why the Bible says that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). The fear of the Lord actually means, “reverential awe” (reverence: deep respect and honor). We stand and live in the deepest honor and respect of His awesome love and wonders!
Verse 14 of Psalm 25 says that those who fear Him will receive his secret counsel. This is the wisdom that is given and spoken of in Proverbs 9:10. Jesus walked in the secret counsel of His Father during his time on earth and we can do that too. We can live in WONDER rather than in “wondering and confusion.”
Psalm 25 promises that as we live in this deep reverence and awe that we will be shown the way we should choose and we will have a good life (that will be passed onto our children). It also guarantees that he will rescue us from any snare our feet get caught in. This is COVENANT and cannot be broken!
I am continually asking the Lord to help me to live in a greater awe, reverence, honor and respect for him in EVERYTHING I do— that this would be the standard that I uphold.
I am asking today, “What in my life is usurping the awe and reverence? Where do I need to lift up the standard of the fear of the Lord in my life?”
These are the question that align us with the Holy One and his secret counsel…his wisdom and his ways. It’s good to ask the Holy Spirit to search your life and to find the areas that lack this standard of awe and honor. Then ask for his help to make the adjustments so that you have all that he desires to give to you today and every day to come!
It brings him such joy to answer us and to align us with the outpouring of his love, counsel and covenant blessings. What joy it is to be loved so deeply and to walk in a standard that honors God and reaps a harvest of blessings!
There is such attention being drawn in this hour to all the negative and the display of evil on earth. I often wonder if we have turned our attention away from the sacred and to focus our attention on the display of the profane?
Today I awoke with a renewed realization of “the God of wonders” in our midst. It is time to turn our eyes, our thoughts and our attention back to who he is and what he does rather than watching the display of the wicked. He is calling us to watch the wonder and turn away from the wicked.
Our God will display his wonders in the midst of the wicked and his hand will be the one that is proven to rescue and save. He is the one that shakes the earth, makes the mountains tremble and is an all consuming fire that comes to purify.
Psalm 17:7 says, “Display the wonders of Your faithful love…”
We say, “Yes Lord! We turn our eyes toward your faithful love where we will see your wonders displayed.”
He is our portion and our cup of blessing (Psalm 16:5) and in him there is no lack. It is time to stop looking at the lack that the world displays and begin delighting in the full portion and overflowing cup that we have been given. May this cup overflow from the lives that have been lavished by his unfailing and faithful love. May his faithfulness be poured out upon a world in desperate need of a drink of pure love.
This refocusing will allow our lives to be conduits of the overflow. As we surrender, as we worship and as we give ourselves fully to him we make room for his glory to be displayed and his wonders to fill the earth.
We silence our tongues from the constant testimonies of what the wicked are doing and we ask the Spirit of the Lord to loose our tongues with the sounds of his love. May the testimonies of Jesus pour forth and prophesy to the dry bones. May the songs of wonder and sounds of awe be released that overcome the shock and awe of the evil that has been displayed. And may our “laid down lives” become the posture of seeing Jesus high and lifted up for all to see.
The God of Wonders has not changed and his arm of salvation has not shortened. Our eyes have too often been pulled to look upon the profane rather than focus on the holy. It has clouded our vision for far too long.
We are not to be unaware of what is happening in the world but let us be far more aware of his wonders and his faithful love. We are “heaven’s journalists”, heaven’s sound, heaven’s reporters and citizens of heaven. Even the world is waiting for a good report and longing to see the miraculous. Many are longing for a savior and for something to give them hope. We carry that hope within us.
Isn’t it time to display the God of Wonders and become yielded vessels of his heavenly overflow?
“Yahweh, our Lord, how magnificent is Your name throughout the earth.” Psalm 8:9
Thank you to all of my faithful readers and followers who have so generously prayed for us financially supported us. You are our heroes!
A couple of years ago I had an experience with the Lord where I saw needs, lack, circumstances and warfare brought to a Heavenly place where these things were exchanged for the “Goodness of God”.
In this experience I saw Jesus extending His hand and it was filled with His goodness. He was offering it as a type of Heavenly currency. I was led to bring all of my needs and exchange them for the “currency of His goodness”. It reminded me of when I travel internationally and have to go an exchange my currency for the currency of the nation that I am traveling to.
The moment I placed my needs into His goodness I felt the exchange take place. His goodness washed over me and my faith soared. I was immediately lifted above the storm and winds of adverse circumstances.
“Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!” Psalms 31:19
At the time of this experience, my husband and I had just been praying for God’s people— that the fear of the Lord would be exchanged for the spirit of fear that has been plaguing so many. Psalm 31:19 says that His goodness is laid up for those who fear the Lord.
The “Fear of the Lord” means to have reverence, respect, awe, and to submit to a deity, This fear speaks of God’s good intentions toward us. I was surprised that this experience regarding the “currency of His goodness” happened as we prayed for the fear of the Lord. Then I began to realize that the fear of the Lord and His goodness are joined together in the scriptures.
“Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You. Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgments are good.” Psalms 119:38-39
“Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the LORD, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.” Psalms 34:8-9
Isn’t it amazing how God confirms these experiences through the truth of His Word!
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. As we prayed for the fear of the Lord, wisdom came through a revelation of how we can exchange our needs and lack for the currency of His goodness.
This was not merely an experience for me but for you too. The Lord’s hand is filled with His goodness. He is offering a divine exchange; this will provide you with a Heavenly currency that will supply His goodness in exchange for your needs. It will exchange peace for fear and wisdom for the questions that need answers. Today, taste and see that the Lord is good for those who fear Him will lack no good thing.
Though 2021 has been a challenging year for many already, I have watched the Lord use this time to bring reconciliation to many broken and divided relationships. Our Heavenly Father is passionate about restoring and healing relationships and it seems that this year is an especially appointed time to allow God to restore what you thought was lost forever.
I have witnessed this in my own extended family as love broke walls of division. I have watched it happen among friends that separated from one another in pain and offense. And, just this month I witnessed a restoration and reconciliation in a nation. Many leaders, who once walked as brothers, were divided a decade ago but in the mercy of God a miracle occurred that restored them in humility and love. Today they stand not only reconciled, but the bonds are even deeper than the divide had been.
What we are beginning to see is the beauty spoken of in Psalm 133,
“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!
It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes!
It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.”
Humility is key for seeing this restoration occur in both individuals and in corporate settings. I believe that we are about to see some of the greatest testimonies of reconciliations that we have ever witnessed. The strongholds of pride and even the “right to be right” is being broken. We have all sinned and fallen short of his glory and it is in that posture that we will come. It is a level place where the righteousness of Jesus and his love covers a multitude of sins.
There may have been wrongs done but in humility we will say, “I repent of my wrong and I forgive you for wronging me so that together we may be restored to the righteousness of Christ. I will own your sin as my own and will you own my sin as your own— in this place we receive forgiveness, healing, reconciliation and his righteousness.”
Romans 3 says, “There is none righteous, not even one.” Therefore, we can come as one family, one man, one race— and in humility receive justification through Christ.
“…and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:24
The measuring rod is Christ alone and we have all fallen short. But oh, how the love of God has come to be poured out over us in order to redeem us— not by works or our “righteousness” (since the word confirms that none are righteous apart from Christ) but by grace through the blood of Jesus.
It is not about Jew or Gentile, race or creed, male or female, young or old…it is about being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
This is the time to leave our sacrifice at the altar and go be reconciled with our brothers and sisters.
“So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.” Matthew 5:23-24
I believe that there is a release of restoration and reconciliation beginning to happen in the body of Christ that will spread and have a ripple effect across the nations. Where racial and political divisions marked 2020, reconciliations will mark 2021.
I keep seeing mountains brought low and valleys raised up to create a level field to meet on. We have all fallen short and must be reconciled and justified by Christ alone. No more pointing of the finger at another, no more rehashing the rights and wrongs of past issues, no more looking at the speck in our brother’s eye when there is a log of offense in our own— ALL have fallen short and therefore we humble ourselves before one another and before the Lord to receive his grace and redemption.
“Then when you call, the LORD will answer. ‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply. ‘Remove the heavy yoke of oppression. Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors! Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes.’” Isaiah 58:9-12
It is time to allow the Spirit of the Lord to repair the breaches and rebuild the ruined cities! If only we will bow in humility and allow his grace to remove the oppression. Let us be reconciled to one another in love and humility. This will cause our offering (gift) to be pure and undefiled by arrogance and offense.
Maybe before we lead another prayer meeting, sing another worship set or serve another communion— we should stop and be reconciled to our brother or sister, our neighbor, our child or our spouse. Then, together we can bring our gift before him— and watch the precious oil and dew wash over all.
How good it will be when we dwell together in unity!
Thank you for standing with us in prayer and financial support— you are heroes to us!
As I waited upon the Lord I saw the month of April before me. A wind blew upon it and it suddenly became an open door into a beautiful fragrant garden that brought an immediate sense of hope and joy to my soul.
As this April door blew open I heard the verse from Song of Solomon 4:16,
Awake, north wind! Rise up, south wind! Blow on my garden and spread its fragrance all around. Come into your garden, my love; taste its finest fruits.
I saw the wind as the breath of God, the Ruach— as his breath was released upon his sons and daughters— new life, even resurrection life, came upon them. A fragrance, like a garden in full bloom, came forth from them that filled the earth. I saw each son and daughter take their place as a part of this garden that was filled with fragrant blossoms and sweet fruits. The smell went beyond the garden into the world.
When I saw this I was suddenly aware that most of the world had lost their sense of smell and their sense of taste (just like what happens when many contract Covid). They had lost their sense of smell and taste for God. The Lord created every man and woman with the senses to seek after him but the thief had stolen their senses.
When the wind blew this door open, not only did God’s children come into full bloom but the fragrance and taste of the Lord upon their lives began to awaken the senses of those who had lost their senses.
I saw prodigals returning as they “came to their senses.” I saw “seekers” suddenly finding their scent and finding what they were seeking. They were like dogs who had been following a scent but had lost it and were walking in circles— but suddenly they found the scent once again and it led them to salvation.
I saw many of God’s sons and daughters longing for passion and purpose. When this wind blew, it awakened them like a wind coming upon a smoldering ember that was very near to going out. But this wind caused it to turn bright amber with the glow and burning of his love and presence. Suddenly the dry and barren place that they had been in caught fire and they burned with passion and purpose to carry his glory, his fragrance and his fire. They became a great fire that could not be contained.
Fragrance, fruit and fire will mark the days ahead as we walk through the open door of April. The breath (wind) of God will sovereignly open this door and it will be like when the stone was rolled away from the tomb of our Savior. His Ecclesia will come forth with fragrance, fruitfulness and great fire. Resurrection power will be upon us once again.
Where much of the world viewed the church as a tomb with a stone at its entrance— they will begin to see an open door that is releasing the scent that they have longed for and they will find the treasure that they have been searching for. No longer will it be a place that represents dead works but it will be a garden of life full of the choicest fruits and a fire that will ignite passion and purpose within them. Even tongues of fire will fall once again and salvation will fall upon people as they merely walk into the fragrant atmosphere.
Altars will be so full in the days to come that his people will create altars in barns, tents, fields, farms, parking lots and even in theaters. Living rooms will become altars where salvation comes to the young and the old. Even front yards will become churches where entire neighborhoods are transformed by the fire falling upon them.
“Not by power, not by might but by my Spirit” says the Lord Zechariah 4:6
Begin to call for the wind of the Spirit to blow! Call for the fire of the Spirit to fall and to ignite! Call for the the Spirit and the bride to say, “Come!”
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life. Revelation 22:17
Come, north wind! Rise up, south wind! Blow on my garden and spread its fragrance all around!
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:10-12
Throughout scripture rain symbolizes a blessing. It comes after a drought to give life and cause new growth. Even in the flood, rain came for forty days to wash sin away from the earth that the Lord had created. God’s people are about to see a “rain of blessings” and showers of cleansing come upon them. The past twelve months have been like living in a waiting room but there is a great roar from heaven that will thunder and release a downpour of blessings, suddenlies and breakthroughs upon you (physically, emotionally and spiritually). This will touch both the individual and the corporate remnant of God.
His voice will thunder in response to the intercession, the worship and the cries of his people. In the midst of waiting and amid a global drought his people have not ceased to declare, “Our God Reigns!” Watch as he responds with his reign! March will “Go out like a Lion” (see my word on The Elijah List) because there will be a mighty roar that sounds like thunder and releases the heavy rain of blessings as his word goes forth to accomplish all that he has purposed.
Even the earth will respond with songs from the mountaintops and trees that clap with joy. A renewed peace will lead his people in the way they should go and they too, will sing a new song and clap their hands in joy.
“…See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come away with me.” Song of Solomon 2:11-13
Though this verse says that the “rains are over and gone”— in this instance I hear the Spirit saying that the storms and gray skies that have blocked the Son are over and gone. The rains that are coming will reveal the blossoms, the early fruit and allow you to breathe in the fragrance of refreshing new life. You will run with him through the garden of life and among the orchards of fragrant fruits. You will find that he has set a table for you in the presence of your enemies. They will look and be ashamed while you feast upon the goodness of the Lord and rejoice of the intimacy that you share.
I prophesy and declare a heavy rain of blessings to come over your life and your household. I stand in agreement with the Lord for a continuous downpour that saturates your dry and barren land. I pray comfort, healing, cleansing and renewed joy upon you. May miracles mark the land of your life. May the early fruit that drips with sweetness satisfies your hunger and may the fragrance that is pleasing to your senses fill your nostrils. Breath it in while you taste and see that the Lord is good to you. The wilderness of waiting is about to turn into a green valley where still waters are always nearby to refresh you and cool you. Look up because your waiting has not been in vain.
“…these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:10
For many days I have been hearing a groaning in my spirit that cries out to His Spirit, “Oh, reveal the depths of God to me!”
In response I feel a swell of the Holy Spirit releasing revelation and encounters into the depths of God. It feels like we are being ushered from the “outer courts” of His heart into the “inner courts.” I believe that many are about to encounter and receive revelation of the depths, heights and width of His love— which contains deep compassion, waves of healing, freedom, wisdom from above and an ability to surrender that lifts us to places in the spirit that we never even dreamed of going to on this side of heaven.
The Spirit of God has searched the depths of the Father and Son— and now He lives within us with that revelation that we can experience. There is a birthing that is taking many from living according to the soul, with occasional spiritual experiences, to living out of their spirit (where His Spirit dwells in us). Our souls will align to the depths of His Spirit which will cause everything to change.
I just keep hearing our beautiful Holy Spirit say, “Come in, come into the depths! Let me submerge you in the depths of the unlimited love of God.”
This is a fresh baptism in the depths of the love of God! It has resurrection power in it and on it. Every dead place will come to life as you yield to this submersion. We were never meant to live in a divided state of being— split identities of sons and orphans that leave us longing for sonship but still eating from the crumbs under the Father’s table when we’ve been invited to come as sons and daughters to eat of the best of His bounty.
We say, “Yes, Spirit of God. Baptize us anew and afresh in the depths of the love of God! We yield to the submersion of our lives into the inner courts of the heart of God. Do what only You can do and resurrect us into sons and daughters that no longer live as orphans.”
