The Awakening

By Kathi Pelton

Do you feel the “awakening” that is beginning to take place? If you don’t, then get ready to! God is awakening His church and He’s waking up those who have not been awakened to the unconditional love of the Father.

I hear the Lord speaking the words from John 11:11,

“Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but now I will go and wake him up.”

I began hearing words like, “My friend __ (fill in the blank) has fallen asleep but now I will go and wake him up.”

I hear it over sons, daughters, cities and nations.

“My friend America has fallen asleep but now I will go and wake her up.”

It has been like an echo resounding in my spirit for many days now. Only, within the echo the name changes each time it goes forth.

There is a great awakening! In the places that a spirit of lethargy or even death has come to put even those in Christ to sleep (or in a grave); God is kissing His bride and awakening her to be His bride.

There are prodigals that are waking up and many sons and daughters will suddenly come to their senses; they will be overwhelmed with WHO HE IS! Deceptions will fall away, lies will be replaced by truth and true identity will be restored. They will suddenly understand and be awakened to the depth, height and lengths of the love of God for them.

There are people, churches, cities and even nations that have been like Lazarus; dead and stinking in a sealed grave but Jesus will arrive on the scene to “Awaken His friend.”

I believe that we are about to enter a time where we will even see the dead raised. Not merely the spiritually dead but the physically dead. He will be glorified through the raising of the dead and many will believe because of these miracles.

Unbelief is like the death of faith and God is about to display His unbelievable power that will break this death and unbelief off of many. They will believe and put their trust in God once more.

There is an old and very loved Christmas movie called “Miracle On 34th Street” where the young Natalie Woods is trying to have faith and belief for the first time. In one scene toward the end of the movie she is riding in a car on Christmas Day repeating the words, “I believe, I believe…” over and over. Her miracle not only comes but it far exceeds her wildest dreams. I keep seeing this scene in my mind and the great joy she experiences when her childlike faith “to believe in the impossible” is finally realized.

We may be in for a “Miracle On 34th Street” type of experience for many who have lost their childlike faith. The death of dreams and desires will be awakened and great joy will fill hearts once again. The Lord took me to Exodus 34 while I was pondering the title “34th Street” and this is what I read,

“Listen, I am making a covenant with you in the presence of all your people. I will perform miracles that have never been performed anywhere in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people around you will see the power of the Lord —the awesome power I will display for you.” Exodus 34:10

Miracles! Awakening! Resurrections! He is going to awaken His friends. Begin to declare, “I believe, I believe!!” Let it ring through the atmosphere and into the places where unbelief has brought death to your faith. Let it rise like the sound of a bell ringing or the sound of life coming back into a dead man. “I BELIEVE!” Shout it, sing it, declare it over every dead thing.

Miracles are coming and all the people around you will see the awesome power of your God!

An Angelic Rousing in March

By Kathi Pelton

On March 1st I began to feel something stirring in my spirit and in the atmosphere that was like an awakening or a “rousing”—a stirring—in my spirit to rise up and begin to march once again. As I woke up on March 2nd I felt the strong sense of angelic presence— as if they’d come to rouse, awaken, and recommission those who have been waiting and watching.

I live in the Washington DC region and since the beginning of the year it has been a time of waiting, worshipping, watching, and washing. It has felt like being cocooned during a transition and personal metamorphosis. Yet, I have been so aware of the evil that has been taking place from DC and from those who have taken residence there to lead our nation away from God and His statutes. Even so, many have not been released to do anything but wait, worship, and be washed.

But suddenly I sense this “spiritual rousing” is stirring in the atmosphere and I sense that it looks a bit like the breath that comes upon the dry bones, causing them to gather together, stand up, and receive muscles, flesh, and life; then they march forth as an army.

Do you feel the mountains that have stood before you, to block your way and your vision, beginning to tremble? Do you feel the ocean that pulled you under it’s mighty strength beginning to roar with the voice of the Lion of Judah, who is calling you to rise and walk upon the surface of what fiercely pulled you under? Do you sense the presence of His heavenly host coming to rouse and commission His army that has been waiting in caves?

Something is stirring. Something is trembling. Something is rousing and something will rise. It is as if a moment of great silence descended on us, and God’s people entered into a holy hush as they became “still.” It has been a “Be still and know that I am God” posture of pure and unadulterated trust in Him. All we have known to do is to stand, because we did all that we knew to do already.

I hear in my spirit a unified and unbreakable sound in the distance coming from a great army arising; not from one nation or one people but from His global family. As I listen intently for the words they are carrying I hear one line repeated again and again. It is the words, “In God We Trust!”

No longer will these words belong to America or merely be words on American currency, but they belong to the people who have been called by His name and who have stood in His faithfulness alone. These words have now been written on their hearts and upon their lives.

They know one another by the spirit and have been joined spirit to spirit by His Holy Spirit. They have been forged in fire; their lips have been purified with coals from the altar; their hands have been cleansed with the pure water of His Word, and their hearts have become fully His. They will trust in no other and follow no other but the One who is King of Kings.

Respond to His angelic rousing— deep calls unto deep as He stirs a great awakening.

Receiving Esther’s Garments

By Kathi Pelton

During this time of Purim, I have been meditating on the Book of Esther. As I have read this book over and over again. The part that has stood out to me more than any other part begins in Esther 2:15.

“Esther was the daughter of Abihail, who was Mordecai’s uncle. (Mordecai had adopted his younger cousin Esther.) When it was Esther’s turn to go to the king, she accepted the advice of Hegai, the eunuch in charge of the harem. She asked for nothing except what he suggested, and she was admired by everyone who saw her.

Esther was taken to King Xerxes at the royal palace in early winter[a] of the seventh year of his reign. And the king loved Esther more than any of the other young women. He was so delighted with her that he set the royal crown on her head and declared her queen instead of Vashti.” Esther 2:15-17

After the twelve months of beauty treatments, each virgin was to pick what they wanted to wear and adorn themselves with before being brought into the king’s chambers. But Esther decided to deferred to the counsel of the king’s trusted official, Hegai, who would know what the king truly desired. She wore only what he suggested; rather than clothing herself with what she desired, she clothed herself in the King’s desire.

This is what I have felt that the Holy Spirit has been doing with the us in these days. The Holy Spirit is like Yeshua’s trusted official to mankind (though so much more- He is One with the Father and the Son). He knows the desire of our King. The bride has been longing to rid herself of all “her choosing” so that she can be fully clothed in her Beloved’s desire; just as Esther was clothed in nothing except what would fulfill King Xerxes desire. When he looked upon her he fell deeply in love with her and took her as his queen; placing the royal crown upon her head. I believe that as we yield to the desire of our our King, settling for nothing less, there is a crown of bridal (queenly) authority that is placed upon our head. His bride will go before the King and she will receive favor– even to the point of being used to reverse evil decrees that have been put in place.

The desire to please our King has been awakened like never before in His bride. There is a holy desperation to rid our lives of any other thing- except His desire. Every other name is being removed (even our own names). We long to take His name as our identity and our crown.

“There I will give her vineyards back to her and make the Valley of Achor (Trouble) into a gateway of hope. There she will respond as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came out of Egypt. In that day- this is the Lord’s declaration– you will call Me, ‘My husband,’ and no longer call Me, ‘My Baal.’ For I will remove the names of the Baals (Masters) from her mouth; they will no longer be remembered by their names.” Hosea 2:15-17

Isn’t it interesting that these scriptures are from Esther 2:15-17 and from Hosea 2:15-17? Esther is presenting herself in purity to become a bride and Hosea is redeeming his wayward bride so that she can be made pure.

There is a bride being prepared, to stand as an Esther before her King and there is also a redeeming of every wayward place that has sought out other “lovers” and become enslaved to their name and harsh rule over her. God is redeeming His bride so that she will be clothed in His desire alone and reign with Him in purity and authority. She is taking His name and every other name (Baal or master) is being removed from her.

As we are in the time of Purim, let us ask the Holy Spirit to instruct us how we are to clothe ourselves. Let us lay aside our thoughts and be clothed with His desire. Let every name but His be removed from our lives so that we become “His desire.”

“I will give them a desire to know me and to be my people. They will want me to be their God, and they will turn back to me with all their heart.” Jeremiah 24:7

“Clothe and adorn us, Holy Spirit, in all that our King desires. May He be our whole desire and may we be ‘His desire.’ We long to turn back to You with our whole heart. We will call you ‘Husband’ and we thank you for removing the names of Baal from us and redeeming us as your own.” Amen

Messengers of Hope Are Coming

By Kathi Pelton

I saw in my spirit God sending His angels as “messengers of hope” to the earth in this hour. They are coming with messages of hope, promise, truth, comfort and love. These messages are being poured into His “messengers on earth.” These earthly messengers are to be voices of peace and hope to those who are hurting and lacking strength (their hope is fading). Words of edification will be like a glass of cool water in the heat of summer during this time. They will be more desirable than wealth, for they will refresh, comfort and strengthen the souls of men.

Proverbs 25:11-13 says,

“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. Like a gold ring or an ornament of gold is a wise reprover to a listening ear. Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest is a faithful messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the soul of his masters.”

What does it mean when it says, “Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest…”? Snow is known to be catastrophic upon a harvest so why does this proverb compare snow at harvest to a messenger that refreshes the soul of his master?

Solomon is referring to the practice in Lebanon of storing up the winter snow in the clefts of the rocks (mountains) to be distributed in the heat of harvest time. They would use this “storehouse of snow” to bring cold drinks to the people during the hot months. It symbolizes a welcomed refreshing and quenching of thirst.

As I write this, I am looking out at a snow-covered land. The beauty and peace is like a visual drink of cool water in a time of the colorless landscape of winter. Out of the storehouse of heaven— a message of hope has covered my yard…and covered all of Washington D.C. as well. It speaks to me the words, “Be still and know that I am God.” He will refresh our land with hope.

His angelic messengers are coming to give messages of hope and life to those who are struggling to hold onto hope. They are appointing messengers who will bring words that edify, encourage and strengthen during this difficult time. These messages will be like a cold drink on a scorching day. They will refresh and bring renewed life to many.

These “Messengers of Hope” will be like Joseph when he fed his family and the nation in a time of great famine. They will be storehouses of hope to the hungry and thirsty. In a time of famine (global pandemic, injustice, division and losses) these messengers will feed and refresh the multitudes. Their words will be water to the thirsty soul as they pour out truth and God’s good report.

It is said that the word “hope” is commonly used in the world to signify a wish; its strength being the strength of the person’s desire. But in the Bible hope is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness. The messages of hope coming will carry an anointing to give confident expectation to all that God has promised and an anointing that comes directly from His unwavering faithfulness.

The world will long to hear words of true Biblical hope as the desires of men are found greatly wanting. The Church will become the storehouse of snow that was preserved in the cleft of the Rock as we come into the time of the harvest of souls. We will be used to clothe men in white garments of purity and to give a glass of cool refreshing “living water” to the thirsty and parched.

Come to us heavenly messengers of hope! Make us the storehouse of hope in a dry and thirsty land.

“O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1

Testing 1, 2, 3, 4

By Kathi Pelton

The words, “Testing 1, 2, 3, 4” are most often heard when a person is doing a microphone sound check. It is to check clarity, levels and balance. So, it was interesting to wake up hearing these words. It is like a heavenly sound check is taking place. I then heard these words from the Book of James, chapter 1, verses 2, 3 & 4,

“2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

I wonder if too many of God’s people are trying to figure out what is going on by gauging the world around us? I hear statements like, “This is what I heard but this is what I see.” I surely understand and I get why there are questions, concerns and confusion. Personally, my world has been altered on so many levels but then I remind myself of Bible story after Bible story where absolute defeat turned into a greater victory than expected when the narration of events was written by God and not man. Here are just a few…

Young Joseph was given a dream and a coat of many colors that promised him authority, honor and favor but the promise did not play out like Joseph thought they would in his young mind. God’s narrative quite honestly seemed at best cruel and harsh; betrayal, slavery, isolation, abandonment, false accusation, imprisonments— but then the promise came to pass. The journey looked nothing like the dream but the outcome was so much greater and saved a nation in a time of great famine!

Then there was Moses. He went to Egypt as a deliverer of the Israelites but I guarantee you that each time he told Pharaoh to “Let my people go!” and the Israelites labor was increased and plagues came upon the land that they most likely not only questioned his authenticity but also did not view him as a deliverer. I imagine the accusations against Moses and Aaron were numerous. But God’s narrative once again played out much differently than even Moses expected. Not only were they delivered but their enemies were defeated.

Let’s not forget Lazarus! He was a personal friend of Jesus; a family friend where he found a home. Basically, Lazarus was an “insider” and counted among Jesus’ inner circle. When he gets sick his sisters know what to do…go get Jesus! Surely he will not let his personal friend die. He will come quickly and heal his friend. But no. He delays and almost seemingly strolls without any urgency to the home of his friend. He’s not only late, but Lazarus has been in the grave for days. The pain felt by all is real and raw. The questions of “where were you” and “if only you had been here” were intermingled with such deep grief. Yet, once again our God was not late but He was narrating a different story than anyone understood. The natural was not going to dictate the sovereignty of God or His ways. Although Lazarus was dead and it appeared final (nothing could be done)— then Jesus showed up and spoke, “Come forth!”

Last, Jesus came through a virgin birth, lived a sinless life, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, fed thousands with only a small lunch and raised the dead. His disciples knew He was their long awaited Messiah. They had such hope, such promise and so much confidence in Him. They had seen the miracles and watched power flow from His hands. They knew that victory had come into a world of oppression. But then their precious Jesus was arrested, betrayed, beaten, crucified and put into a gave. Can you imagine the grief, the shock, the confusion and the questions. I am sure that there were many moments of great division as His disciples and followers tried to figure out what had just happened and who was at fault. I would imagine that there were fingers pointed at one another and accusations made. Pain often looks for a reason or for “what went wrong and who is to blame?” It was not a pretty sight…where had love and unity gone? But then the third day came…God’s narrative once again prevailed in the greatest victory known to mankind happened in the greatest moment of division and despair.

Here we are again…

2021 has begun with what many are perceiving as the greatest defeat they have seen in their lifetime. An increasingly horrific global pandemic, oppression and evil manifesting like the plagues of Egypt, economic ruin for so many and the shock in America upon a church that prayed, repented for the sins of their nation, humbled themselves before the Lord and walked in faith regarding what they heard the Spirit speaking to them…then the opposite happened. But even when the narrative on earth looks nothing like what we thought it would— does that mean that we have been defeated? It surely looks like absolute defeat (for our freedom, for the unborn, for our children, for our safety and for righteousness to prevail). But God…

In this place of what appears to be contradiction to our faith suddenly fingers are pointing at one another, people are in pain, in grief and in confusion. They are looking for someone to blame or clinging to the narrative that they thought would occur. But God’s narrative always has a deeper work to be done.

What if the “testing of our faith” is upon us so that we become steadfast, complete and lack nothing? Maybe in the midst of emotional turmoil and deep grief we should stop trying to figure out the Almighty and begin to “count it all joy” that our faith is being tested. Maybe we should stop pointing fingers and instead raise our heads so that we see the face of God. Maybe…just maybe, a much deeper work is being done.

For me— my personal losses and pain is bringing up dross that needed to be removed. Places that I didn’t even know that I had held unresolved issues have suddenly been uncapped so that I can be washed and purified by His blood.

This is my “sound check” moment. It’s like God has put a stethoscope to my heart and is saying, “Testing, 1, 2, 3, 4.” I believe this is happening for all who are willing. He’s clearing and purifying the sound of our hearts. He’s balancing and aligning us to His heart, His ways and His pure sound. He’s removing every obstacle that blocks the pure sound of His good news and perfect love.

This is our James 1: 2,3,4 time. Let us count it all joy and then watch a greater victory than we ever imagined come forth as we see a bride without spot or wrinkle emerge. We have not been defeated…we are having our faith tested and it is time to allow Him to make every adjustment needed.

We Are At Jabbok

By Kathi Pelton

The Spirit of the Lord has been speaking to me daily over the past month about Jacob’s wrestling match recorded in the book of Genesis. This story could be described as Jacob’s wrestle with his flesh, in order to surrender, so that he would “prevail with God!” Remember, at the end of the wrestle God changed Jacob’s name to Israel, meaning, “The one who prevails with God.”

Here is the story in Genesis 32:22-28:

22 That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. 23 After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. 24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. 25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. 26 Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”

But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

27 The man asked him, “What is your name?”

“Jacob,” he answered.

28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”

This wrestling occurred in a place called “Jabbok.” For the past month I have felt that the body of Christ, both corporately and individually, are at a spiritual “Jabbok.” We can no longer go forth and overcome in the ways that we have in past seasons. This is a time to wrestle down our flesh with the Lord until full surrender comes upon us. It is as though there has always been a mixture of God’s power and our human strength that has overcome past battles but no longer is that the case! God will touch our hip socket so that He will prevail, leaving us with a fleshly limp but a spiritual victory.

It is time for our name to be changed from Jacob (Jakob) to Israel. Jacob means supplanter and supplanter means “someone or something taking the place of another, as through force, scheming, strategy.” As I said earlier, Israel means the one who prevails with God. The Lord is removing any attempts of our flesh to usurp the glory, strength and honor that rightfully belongs only to the Lord. Every desire within us to force or scheme our way to victory will be surrendered so that we can truly prevail with the truth of Zechariah 4:6,

So he answered me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by strength or by might, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord of Armies.

When Jacob fully surrendered—after his flesh/hip socket was weakened, and his name was changed to Israel—he changed the name of Jabbok. Jabbok, meaning “to empty itself” or “a place of passing over” was now named Peniel, which means, “The face of God” or “he who strives with God.”

I believe that this is a prophetic picture of where we are at as God’s people. We are Jacob at Jabbok, and our wrestle will result in both names being changed to “Israel at Peniel.”

I love the way the late David Wilkerson describes Jabbok,

“Jabbok is the place where Jacob wrestled with the Lord. It is where he made his total surrender to God. It is where he got his new character, and new name – Israel. It was the place where he cast down his last idol, and won his greatest victory.

‘And he rose up that night… and passed over the ford Jabbok…’ (Gen. 32:22).

Jabbok means ‘a place of passing over’. It also stands for struggle; to empty and pour out. What a glorious truth is revealed in this place called Jabbok. It has everything to do with us today. It is the place where God’s people discover the secret of power over every besetting sin. It represents a life and death crisis – one that leads to absolute surrender.” (David Wilkerson)

Absolute surrender! We may have to wrestle with God in order to receive absolute surrender because our flesh and the sins of our flesh can be strong and overcome us. But, in mercy, God caused Jacob’s hip socket to be wrenched, thus causing a physical inability to continue to wrestle in the flesh. The hip joint is a ball-and-socket joint that allows motion and gives stability needed to bear body weight. This is why he walked with a limp thereafter. We may walk with a limp to wrestle down our flesh and the sin that has prevailed, but afterward we will “prevail with God!”

Do not shy from this place or this wrestle because it is the greatest victory you will ever experience in becoming “one with God.” It is where you will learn to dance with God according to His steps and His lead. It is where sin will no longer prevail in your life but you will prevail with God. No more force— “by His Spirit” will be your victory song and it will bring you into a Shalom (rest) that is greatly needed.

Now is the time—

Two Types of Wrestles: One With God and One Against God

By Kathi Pelton

Two months ago the Spirit of the Lord told me that 2021 would be a “wrestle or a dance” for his people. He extended an invitation to enter the dance with him but he also made it clear to me that many would not receive his invitation. The ones who do not take his hand and dance with him will walk according to their own steps (and wisdom) resulting in a painful wrestle. This word helped me to continue to fully yield and surrender to his invitation to follow his lead and keep my eyes fixed on his.

We are less than two weeks into 2021 and I keep hearing people say how they are wrestling with what it happening in our world, with what is true, what is from God and what they are seeing with their eyes. Quite honestly, I don’t think that there is anyone who hasn’t had a bit of a wrestle because the world is shouting at us to look upon the “things of the world” and we wrestle to keep our eyes on things above. What was once familiar in this world has suddenly become unfamiliar and uncomfortable. Yet, God has not changed and he is still our Comforter.

When I began to find myself wrestling to “keep my eyes on things above”, I asked the Lord a very serious question, “Have I left the dance that you are leading and entered the wrestle that you warned us about?”

He responded by revealing to me that there are two types of wrestle— one that rebels against his leadership and one that wrestles down the flesh to enter into full submission and surrender to his leading.

After Jacob wrestled with God his name was changed from Jacob to Israel. Israel means, “The one who has prevailed with God.” His wrestle changed and aligned his life to prevail with God. To prevail means: To prove more powerful than opposing forces; to be victorious.

God has prevailed over his enemies! He has prevailed against sin and death; he is inviting us into “prevailing with him!” While this is our desired posture- often we first have to wrestle down the narrative that this world has written upon our souls. The narrative of doubt, skepticism, unbelief, defeat and fear always fight against God’s prevailing victory like a boat tossed about by a raging sea.

Those carnal narratives can lead us to hold back from God, to manipulate, to rebel and to enter into a “flight” rather than a fight mode. The Lord revealed to me that the wrestle against that which would prevent me from “prevailing with God” is part of the dance that we are in. We are wrestling down the flesh that rebels against God for the sake of allowing surrender to make us one with him. As we are one with him, we become one in prevailing with him. No longer do we battle from a hope for victory but we battle from victory that has already been established.

The wrestle that we DO NOT want to enter into is the wrestle that causes us to walk according to the flesh rather than the Spirit. That posture doesn’t wrestle with God but against God. It tries to wrestle down truth, covenant, love, righteousness and oneness. It could be compared to when a married couple postures themselves against one another and begins to demand their way to the point of breaking the bond of oneness, defiling the covenant and eventually walking away from one another.

Marriage can be compared to a dance in which we have to learn steps that submit to one another, prefer one another, lay down demands and change our ways as needed. Sometimes we step on one another’s toes until we get down the steps so that we can move in unity and oneness. Marriage can feel like a wrestle at times while we learn to surrender to love but when you “fight for prevailing together” it transforms the individuals into one flesh; yet, many prefer flight from the fight for oneness…and just walk away. Just like in marriage, to wrestle (fight) for oneness through a surrendered heart and feet that follow his lead is a fight worthy of entering into. It is the fight against all that is within us that rebels against God and his ways. This will end in a name change! You too will be called, “One who prevailed with God!”

Be careful to not fix your eyes on this world or become overwhelmed by all the chaos in it. When that happens most people enter into one of two postures. One is to become enraged and bitter, causing them to focus their eyes on the world and charge forward in their own zeal and opinions (which is foolishness to God). The other is to completely disengage. For instance to stop praying, worshipping, reading the Word and to comfort themselves with a posture of denial and distancing themselves from both the things happening in the world and from God. Neither posture will allow you to “prevail with God!”

For those who want to walk in their own ways, live in their own opinions and lead their own steps (and who call themselves believers), they will find themselves tripping over God’s feet and wrestling with rebellion.

I normally find writing such an easy form of communication in my life and yet trying to describe these two different wrestles is proving difficult. I only pray that I have communicated it clearly. 2021 can be a dance, but sometimes we will have to wrestle against the temptation to create our own steps or move according to our natural tendencies. We have never been this way before! Especially for those of us in the United States- we have never even dreamed of walking through what we are suddenly facing.

Know this, the dancefloor for this dance that “prevails with God” is in the heavenly realms, not the earthly realm (although it will greatly impact the earthly realms). Our eyes must be fixed on things above and our thoughts must be upon those things that are “praiseworthy.” I want to remind you of one key that He gave me when He asked me to enter this dance, he said, “Keep your eyes fixed on mine and your feet will follow.”

YOU CAN WRESTLE WITH GOD BUT DO NOT WRESTLE AGAINST GOD! The wrestle with him will cause you to prevail with him. The wrestle against him will cause only pain and defeat. Fight for oneness with him!

I Saw a Great Washing and Refreshing

By Kathi Pelton

As we all know 2020 was a year of extremes. Many experienced extreme losses and at the same time many in the Church experienced extreme transformations. But, without a doubt, all of us were subject to the deep darkness of evil that was revealed and vile accusations that came from the evil one.

I saw a picture this morning of a woman who was returning from a long and treacherous hike in the wilderness during the winter months. She had scaled mountains, walked through deep ravines, crossed valleys and climbed over obstacles that blocked her way. She was muddy, weary but also so grateful for all that she had experienced, learned and overcome from the journey.

Then, in this vision, the Lord send angels to attend to her. First they removed her muddy boots and outer garments, then they removed the backpack off of her back. Then they ushered her into a warm home with a cozy fire burning. In this room there was a tub filled with steaming water and the rest of her garments were removed. She stepped into this warm tub of clear water and then the angels began to pour warm, clear water over her head. As the water ran down over her, it washed away all the residue from the long journey she had taken. The angels washed her hair, her face, her hands, her feet until they were washed clean. Then they poured oil over her to anoint her. This oil touched her heart and mind and softened it to keep it tender and sensitive (for she had seen things and experienced things on the journey that sought to harden her heart). Then they brought soft, white linens to clothe her in; including what looked like a towel or turban for her head. All of these garments were white but around the edges (sleeves, neck, ends and surrounding the towel/turban) were many words sewn in gold thread. As I looked closer I realized that they were scriptures from the Bible.

One of the scriptures was from Ephesians 5:26-27,

“…to make her holy, cleansing her with the washing of water by the word. He did this to present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or anything like that, but holy and blameless.”

Another was from John 15,

“You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.” (vs. 3)
‭‭ ““I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me.” (vs. 5)

There was also the verses from Hebrews 4:12-13,

“For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart. No creature is hidden from Him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account.”

There were more but those were the three that I am aware of. I found it so beautiful that the first scripture in Ephesians is from the chapter regarding how a husband should treat his wife. Our Bridegroom, Jesus, was doing just that for his bride in this vision. He was cleansing her by the washing of water by the word. Then he was clothing her in garments that represent purity, fruitfulness, unity and the sword of his authority.

I believe that 2021 is beginning with a washing of his bride. All of the residue from the long journey of the past year is being washed away. We are being anointed with oil and we are being clothed in purity, oneness and the authority of his Word!

The Word of God is your sword and shield. More than any other time, this year you will need to be equipped with his Word as your weapon and protection. You must clothe yourself in the Word of God and saturating your mind in his Word (wearing it like a turban). His Word will cleanse you! In a year of even greater exposures; his Word will clothe you, cover your nakedness and keep you pure. His word will wash you and keep you joined to the true Vine so that you will produce fruit.

His Word will be a tent or canopy over your life, your family and your home (even your ministry or business). It will be warmth, water and fire for you. Begin each day by reading his Word and praying his Word over all that pertains to you. Declare it over your home, your city, your nation, and over all who sit in seats of authority. For his Word is a two edged sword that will separate the holy from the profane.

I heard the words, “My Word is your key to success and fruitfulness! My Word gives victory and triumph to all that it touches. My Word keeps you pure and gives you peace. My Word is your authority and it brings heaven to earth.”
‭‭
Let us saturate our lives and this year with the water of his Word!

2021: A Wrestle or A Dance?

By Kathi Pelton

I will be putting out a longer and more detailed word regarding “prophetic insights for 2021” in the coming days. But for now I wanted to share with you the most important thing that the Lord spoke to me. It was these words,

“Tell my people that the days ahead will either be a wrestle or a dance. It is their choice.”

Then I saw the Lord extending his hand toward his bride; inviting her to dance with him. His eyes were filled with tenderness, longing and deep love for her. I knew by revelation that this was a dance that she’d never danced before— it was intimate but also intricate. I could see her longing to enter his arms and dance but I also saw her trepidation because she did not know the steps.

He once again spoke saying, “Don’t look at your feet but look into my eyes and your feet will follow.”

This dance required her to remove her shoes— she was barefoot because this was holy. She also needed to be able to keenly feel the ground beneath her feet as she followed his lead. Face to face would be the posture needed for the steps ahead. Eyes locked on his eyes and not on the things below— he will lead and order the steps as love leads the dance. The light in his eyes will bring beauty, joy and pleasure even as you are trampling serpents with your joined steps— you’ll be unhindered by what is below because your gaze will be fixed on his eyes.

I also saw another scene. It was those who insisted on walking as they have in the past. They weren’t wanting a dance but rather a fight. Deep inside they wanted to take the lead. They tightened their boot straps and forged ahead. Then quickly they got tangled up in the movements of Jesus because he was not moving the way that they were. The clash in movements became a wrestle to those who didn’t take his hand and engage in the steps of this dance.

I was very aware that each step of this intricate dance was defeating more giants than anything we had done before. This dance required surrender, yielding, oneness and undivided focus. It was a surrender to the realization that “his ways are not our ways” in an atmosphere that provoked the flesh to battle in “our ways.”

The enemy provokes people to get us to enter into our strength, our ways and even our strategies. He has no idea how to battle those who are surrender to oneness with Christ. He has no idea what to do with joy and unity. Peace is absolute chaos to the enemy, who feeds on an atmosphere of anxiety and fear.

I don’t know the steps to this dance but I know his eyes and therefore I will remove my shoes and draw near with a surrendered and yielded heart…and let him lead. We will see more victories than ever before. This dance will lead prodigals home and the lost into the arms of Christ. It will release peace, joy and favor and it will reorder things like a supernatural plumb line.

If you find yourself in a wrestle then stop and find his eyes— then let his eyes lead your feet back into the dance. We dance and live from the place of victory…because Jesus has already defeated death and hell.

“Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance,
And the young men and the old, together,
For I will turn their mourning into joy
And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow.”

Jeremiah 31:13
