444: Why Is This So Significant As We Approach Passover?

By Kathi Pelton

I began hearing the Spirit speak to me regarding calling a corporate daily communion from 4/4/2020
-4/8/2020 (Passover). Though I was sure that I’d heard this I wasn’t sure why until I woke up this morning. That’s when the “why?” began to be revealed.

How My Day Began:

I woke up this morning at exactly 4:44 a.m. and heard the Spirit speak the words from Ezekiel 44:4,

“Also He brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple; so I looked, and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD; and I fell on my face.”
‭‭
Then, as I began to pray, I once again saw the date before my eyes, 4/4/2020. Then saw four days of a corporate communion prior to Passover beginning on 4/4. Once again, I didn’t know why or what the significance of the date 4/4 was. The fifth day, Passover (on 4/8) would also be a day of partaking in communion and anointing the doorposts of your home in remembrance of His deliverance from captivity.

As I began to pray further into what I was seeing and hearing I was led to look up the date (4/4) this year to see if it means anything significant to the Jewish people.

Sure enough it does!

It is the last Sabbath prior to Passover and it is called, “Shabbat HaGadol” (“Great Shabbat” שבת הגדול). It is the Shabbat immediately before Passover. The first Shabbat HaGadol took place in Egypt on 10 Nisan five days before the Israelite Exodus. On that day, the Israelites were given their first commandment which applied only to that Shabbat, “On the tenth day of this month (Nisan)… each man should take a lamb for the household, a lamb for each home (Exodus 12:3).” This lamb is the lamb that would be sacrificed four days later and its blood placed on the doorposts of every Jewish home.

This explained the four days that lead up to Passover but I felt that there was something more; something specific that was on the Lord’s heart. Knowing that we are in a time like no other time before, where the whole earth is closed in, I could feel the depth of purpose behind this time of communion—but what was it? As I prayed more and researched more I finally found the piece that I had been looking for!

During the time when the Israelites were living in captivity in Egypt “the lamb” was considered a god (it was an Egyptian idol). After 400 years of living in the Egyptian culture many of the Jewish people had begun to accept Egyptian idols as a part of their belief system; they had abandoned the purity of Yahweh being their one and only God. But in His mercy He was breaking idolatry by asking His chosen people to take an unblemished lamb (this Egyptian “idol”) and set it aside to be sacrificed and it’s blood sprinkled on the doorway of every Hebrew homes. This act, which was going to be used to save the firstborn of every Jewish household, was also setting them free from the idolatry that had crept into their lives. They too, would be locked behind the doors of their homes and instructed to not go out until the “death passed by.”

This commandment to pick an unblemished lamb happened on the Sabbath prior to when the death angel would pass by the homes of the Jewish people, sparring their firstborn sons from the plague of death. Today the Jewish people remember this day and call it Shabbat HaGadol

God has said that there is a timeframe from 4/4-4/8 to break idolatry in the church. These are places that we’ve conformed to cultural beliefs and behaviors that have replaced the pure and simple truth that is found in “The Blood of the Lamb.” I saw in my spirit many thing “added” to the purity of His blood that was shed and those things were defiling His temple; which is us.

This is an essential time to come as God’s chosen people and set apart time each of these four days to partake in communion with your entire household. Each day we will acknowledge the spotless and pure Lamb of God who, by the shedding of His blood and breaking of His body, paid the price for the sin of the world. We will partake of the pure and simple truth of our salvation and deliverance from sin.

It is the blood of Jesus that speaks a better word and has the power to save us from this plague called Covid-19. It is time to see the glory of God fill the temple (Ez. 44:4) as we fall on our faces in humility and repentance. These days of communion will prepare our hearts to be sparred from death and delivered from every form of idolatry that has crept into the church. As we are locked in our houses, just like the Jews were during that first Passover, we will once again be saved and delivered from our captivity.

It’s time to see the power of the blood of Jesus come back upon the church. It’s time to believe the old hymn we use to sing,

“Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
There’s wonderful power in the blood
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb
Would you be free from your passion and pride
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood
Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide
There’s wonderful power in the blood
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood (in the blood) of the Lamb (of the Lamb)
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb.”

The blood of Jesus is the only thing that will save us from this pandemic. It will deliver His people from idolatry and it will cause this curse to pass us by.

Will you join us as we partake in communion for four days (4/4-4/8)? There is power in the blood and a return to the cross of Christ.

Press In— God Is Giving Us A Sabbath Rest

By Kathi Pelton

“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Many of us have this verse highlighted in our Bibles, hung on the walls in our homes and written in our journals— but do we live it?

It is interesting to me that God began speaking to me right before the outbreak of this virus (or at least it coming upon the shores of our nation) that He was going to rightly align “beliefs and actions.” He began to show me areas of my life where I believe one of His truths (even have a strong conviction in that belief) but my actions have not aligned with it. Therefore, in that area I live in conflict with my own beliefs and in contradiction to my own convictions. God began to help me “take inventory” of the areas where these contradictions exist.

I understand that Psalm 46:10 is more of a “stillness from worry/anxiety (striving)” and an invitation into trust but how much of our busyness and restlessness comes from avoiding stopping? If we stop it causes us to look and see what is behind the veil of all our activity. When we can do nothing (physically or naturally) to resolve a situation we must come face to face with the truth of this verse and enter into the invitation to be still and watch Him move.

For the past year I’ve been hearing so many talking about the theme of a “Sabbath Rest” for God’s people. God has been speaking it to me as well. In the Jewish culture the Sabbath is set aside from sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday evening. It is a time to focus attention on God and to abstain from work.

Is God using this quarantine and closures of airlines, public places and even group gatherings as an invitation into a Sabbath rest? Though Sabbath is only a day this call to a “Sabbath rest” may take a bit longer. But we can press in to it and see what the enemy has meant for evil become a spiritual reset into fully apprehending a stillness in our souls where we “cease striving and know that He is God”; even when the entire world is in crisis.

We may be in a spiritual Friday evening sunset where we take the time to allow God to align our beliefs and our action. It may be a time to allow God to wash our “garments” and it may be a time to return to first love.

In our 36 years of marriage, my husband and I find it very crucial to occasionally just stop everything and take a day or two away together. It is usually to the ocean where we can sit together and watch the sunset and rise with just the two of us. It is in those times that we rest, reset and stop long enough to recognize the areas that activity and busyness have been veiling. We get to go behind the veil of our ministry and parenting and working to see “us.” We see how we are actually doing as a couple and were our love is— and it gives us an opportunity to rekindle first love.

Though I do not know how long this “shut in” will last, I do want to take this opportunity to “be still.” By nature I am restless and my mind is constantly active with ideas and spiritual things; but I must learn to have a Sabbath rest. God took one and yet rarely do His people (especially since Sundays are often one of our busiest days!). Even on our days off we make plans of how to fill it with activities for getting things done that have been unattended to our or having fun as a family. Though these things are important— where is our actual Sabbath rest where we focus on God and abstain from work?

Yes, need to be praying during this time and we need to be His hands and feet to a hurting and fearful world during these hours, but we need to understand the times and seasons and this may be a call to a Sabbath rest.

Let’s discern well and respond well. What if our greatest form of intercession is the postures of, “Cease striving know that He is God?”

It may shift the atmosphere! The enemy seeks to wear out the saints of God and yet God calls us into rest. As we refocus and reset our affection upon Him we let the battle belong to Him.

I submit to you this word; this invitation to be still. Turn your gaze toward God and stop your works. Take a Sabbath rest. It may be dark but that is because the Sabbath begins at sundown. The dawn will awaken and we will spend a day resting in Him.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

-Amen-

Jericho Walls Will Fall During This National Day of Prayer— We Will Recover!

By Kathi Pelton

“Now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut because the people were afraid of the Israelites. No one was allowed to go out or in.” Joshua‬ ‭6:1‬

No one was allowed to go in or out. Does that sound familiar? There was fear in Jericho because of what God had done through the Israelites as they crossed over!

Many prophetic voices prophesied that the beginning of 2020 was a spiritual crossover into the “Promised Land.” For my family it surely was as we crossed our nation from the West Coast to move to the East (the Washington DC region).

Whether or not there was a physical move for you; still, in the spirit, there was a great crossover into a new era and time.

After some time and purification in the new land (circumcision), the Israelites were ready to begin to take back the land! What God has done for them was already known throughout the land and it struck fear into the heart of those who would resist them. I believe that the crossover (spiritually and physically) has struck fear into the enemy’s camp and he has ordered the gates of his fortified places to be locked; for there is great fear in his camp. He knows that God is with His people and they are coming to take the city!

This day, we are in a time that fear has caused men and women to go in and shut their doors. Public places are closed (Disney parks, all of the Smithsonian Museums in DC, sports arenas, etc.); no one is going in or out! A virus of fear has gone global— but today a nation has been called to prayer. Is this our Jericho moment? Our seventh day miracle?

As I went to read the Word this morning my Bible flipped open to Joshua 6 and my eyes fell upon the first verse,

“Now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut because the people were afraid of the Israelites. No one was allowed to go out or in.”

As I read the words I heard, “Blow the trumpets and let My people shout because I am giving you the land!” I don’t know if the “walls” are the virus or the “stronghold of possession” that the enemy has had on land that belongs to God’s remnant; but in any case, something that has held land and has occupied that land is about to fall.

I believe that this very day that has been set aside for prayer in America (in the midst of a 40-day global fast) is a day for some fortified walls to fall! Though this day has been set aside as a day of prayer for the United States of America, I believe that it’s a trumpet call that all nations are invited into.

We are in the 15th day of the Jesus Fast (15 of 40) and it is the 15th day of March. Coincidence? I doubt it! We are marching around the walls of Jericho and they are about to fall! The number 15 represents deliverance and rest. Another interesting fact about the number 15 is that in 2 Kings 20, when Hezekiah became “deathly ill”, he prayed and God added 15 years to his life. What if God is adding 15 years of grace to our nations? What if He is extending time to see harvest and revival take place?

I am not prophesying, I am merely pondering and praying. I am looking around and surveying the spiritual and natural surroundings. I am painting a picture of what my spiritual eyes are seeing unfold.

Today, the 15th of March, which is a National Day of Prayer, may just be a day of fortified walls falling, a day of deliverance, a day of healing, a day of grace extended and days added!

I hear the Lord inviting the nations into this National Day of Prayer. The United States is often a trumpet and a prophetic voice to the nations and that may be the case once again. President Trump has released a trumpet call for prayer to bring healing and deliverance from this deadly illness called Coronavirus.

Hezekiah’s prayer went like this,

“Remember, O Lord, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single-mindedly, always doing what pleases you.” Then he broke down and wept bitterly. 2 Kings‬ ‭20:3‬

This was God’s response,

“Go back to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. Tell him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the Lord. I will add fifteen years to your life, and I will rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my own honor and for the sake of my servant David.’” 2 Kings‬ ‭20:5-6‬ ‭

God, defend our nation and the nations of the world for your honor and for the sake of your servants!

We will possess the land! We will recover! We will see God honored! We will be delivered and receive His rest. Today we will pray, we will worship, we will march and shout! We will see walls fall!

Am I Living In My Shadow or His?

By Kathi Pelton

When you stand in the direct sun on a clear day it will cast your shadow onto the ground with vivid and vast definition. Why? Because you are blocking the sun that is shining directly upon you. Yet, on a cloudy or stormy day, you rarely see your own shadow as there is no sun for you to block.

Sometimes in a “stormy season” of life I find that I actually see the shadow of His wing covering me more than on the clear days that are absent of storms. When I am in full dependency because circumstances are beyond my control I become so aware that I am being kept and covered by my Heavenly Father’s love and protection. Yet, occasionally on clear days (days absent of great need) I will find myself beginning to walk in “my own shadow” and begin to venture outside the shadow of abiding in Him.

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms‬ ‭91:1‬ ‭

There is something that is within human nature (or sin nature) that is prone to wander, to go our own way, to be independent, to give into the desires of the flesh. Yes, even within Christians! Though we learn through experience and spiritual maturity not to give into these temptations; still they call to us and there are still times that we give in.

For me, those times come most often when my life is “carefree” and the sun is shining— when all my skies are clear. I think that it’s just that when we don’t “feel” the urgent need for dependency or divine intervention we can begin to dwell in our own shadow. I don’t actually believe that I can ever truly leave the shadow of His wing, because I am His daughter, but my focus can leave the place of abiding and I can begin to focus on my own shadow (which is just “me”).

I remember a season in my life many years ago that was months of “clear skies!” Spiritual and circumstantial summer had come. Our family was thriving, relationships were thriving, finances were thriving, our ministry was thriving, business was thriving, and even my physical being was thriving. What a glorious beginning to that summer season it was! I woke up rejoicing and went to bed rejoicing. But as that season moved from days to months I began to unconsciously abide in and “glory in” the freedom from storms more than in the rest of the Almighty. I found myself beginning to follow my own shadow rather than abiding in His. It all looked spiritual and good but I had begun to venture out of abiding in His shadow and into enjoying the shade of my own shadow because the sun was shining so brightly in my life. Toward the end of that season (which was to be a gift from God) I found myself feeling disoriented, disconnected from God, careless in my decisions and utterly aware of the faults within the lines of my shadow. My security and rest had shifted from Him to striving to seize the days of “more than enough” (as I knew that like every season, this one would be limited in its duration).

That time in my life was a wonderful lesson on how to remember to remain (abide) and rest in His shelter rather than find my security in the “lack of storms.” I think that there is such an emphasis on circumstantial “breakthrough” in the lives of believers that we forget that He is our breakthrough! He is our dwelling place, our hope, our warmth, our light, our portion, our refuge, our abiding place and our rest. This must be established in every season.

People often focus on achieving breakthrough from adverse circumstances, but we don’t prepare to live in it when it arrives. The poverty spirit can live in prosperity as much as it can in scarcity, but it manifests as greed and independence. We know how to live in need but do we know how to live in abundance? Wealth and riches can be a far greater burden than poverty because a greater responsibility and accountability is required. I believe that God wants to entrust His people with abundance but we must be prepared to remain in Him (fully dependent, sober, humble, at rest and prayerful) or our breakthrough can become our breaking. It’s so easy to find comfort in the fullness of our flesh and soul but our spirits will always long to be satisfied with Christ alone. We must remain living out of our spirits and to train our flesh and soul to find fulfillment in God.

Let us be a people who can live abundantly in every circumstance because we live in the never-changing fullness of our Savior. We live in the constant breakthrough of His love, His grace, and His victory. We live in the shadow of His wing which gives us rest.

He is breaking us out of the mindsets of “feast or famine,” because it is there that we splurge or starve rather than abide and thrive in the constant abundance of a never changing God whose promises are true and kept in every season and every circumstance.

One last thought; when the sun is in front of me, my shadow is behind me but when the sun is behind me my shadow goes before me. Let us keep the Son in front of us and not behind us!

In every season, sunshine or storm, let us say,

“I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”” Psalms‬ ‭91:2‬

Mountains Will Move In March!

By Kathi Pelton

As I sat with the Lord this morning I heard the sound of boots marching forth. It was an army of “boots on the ground.” Then I not only heard them but saw them. There was a mighty mountain standing in their way— BUT THEY COULD NOT BE STOPPED! They were moving in the conviction of His Word, the obedience of His instructions and the persuasion of His promises. They were confident in the assurance of faith. They were not dissuaded by what their eyes were seeing or even the voices that were trying to persuade them to stop or turn back. They knew the voice of their God and were marching toward the impossible with a joy that came from knowing their God who makes all things possible. As their feet began to touch the base of the mountain it began to crumble and become level with each step taken but it wasn’t leveled until their feet touched it. They had to move forward to see the impossible made possible. Then I heard the words, “Mountains will move in March as My people march forward!”

It is time to exchange your hope deferred for the “assurance of hope.” Move into the true conviction of the unseen things that God has spoken to you and apprehend them in faith with action. Begin March by marching forward in the faith that says to the mountains that stand before you, “Be removed!”

This week there will be some of you who will go straight through what stood before you last week just because you moved forward in the assurance of your hope! That mountain has no power over you when you walk in the assurance of faith. It crumbles at the sound and touch of your feet of faith. Your boots are your confidence in Him and they have power over everything that has exulted itself against His name, His Word and His truth. It crumbles at the sound of true faith on the move. Like David before Goliath; it will fall!

Rarely in my life have I seen the way open up before me prior to steps of faith taken; it is when I stepped forward (in His leading) that the way was made and mountains were moved.

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matthew 21:21-22

Far too often God’s people wait for the mountain to be removed and end up setting up camp at the base of the mountain that stands before them. They don’t know the authority that accompanies their faith or that the mere sound of the forward movement of their faith levels the path and clears the way. Many who have camped at the base of these impossible mountains have lived in the shadow of hope deferred which has caused their hearts to grow sick. Disappointment and disillusionment have become their view but the Lord is not stopped by mountains or threatened by obstacles; He is calling you to put your boots of faith back on and place your feet on that mountain— then watch as it crumbles before you.

Mountains will fall, giants will fall and hope deferred with crumble as you see your desire fulfilled! What has the Lord spoken to you? Are you waiting passively to see it come to you without putting your feet upon the mountain or facing down the giant? March is a month to put on your boots and march forward— speak to that mountain, “Be ye removed!” Go forward.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

God Is Releasing A Pandemic of Miracles

By Kathi Pelton

As we are daily hearing the word “pandemic” throughout all media resources regarding the Coronavirus; the Lord has a different perspective!

Today the Lord asked me to look up the Greek origin of the word, pandemic. The word originates from two Greek words, “pan” meaning “all” and “demos” meaning “people”. It refers to something that affects “all people” (pandemos).

Then the Spirit led me to look up the word corona. It has a number of meanings:

• the rarefied gaseous envelope of the sun and other stars. The sun’s corona is normally visible only during a total solar eclipse, when it is seen as an irregularly shaped pearly glow surrounding the darkened disk of the moon.

• the glow around a conductor at high potential.

• a small circle of light seen around the sun or moon, due to diffraction by water droplets.

• a part of the body resembling or likened to a crown.

• the cup-shaped or trumpet-shaped outgrowth at the center of a daffodil or narcissus flower.

• a circular chandelier in a church.

As you read through these definitions you’ll notice that almost all of them represent a glow or circle of light. Since the beginning of 2020 the Lord has spoken to me again and again that we have entered into a time of seeing the sovereignty of God light up the darkness. I hear continually the words, “Not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit!” (Zechariah 4:6)

The Spirit of the Lord is coming with His might, His power and His light! A great move of the Spirit is beginning that will effect ALL PEOPLE! A PANDEMIC of miracles!

It will be like a great “chandelier” has come on in the midst of His Church to crown her with His Spirit! In the midst of the light being eclipsed by the shadows of evil and fear, the Spirit of the Lord is about to show forth His crowning glory. It will encircle the whole world; all people will see it! Yes, darkness is increasing but it will even more illuminate His light! When you shine a light during the day it is not noticed or effective but when darkness comes the light stands out and people are drawn to it. Mankind looks for light in the darkness.

This move of His Spirit will restore authority, honor, salt and a voice to the Church! His glory will crown His Bride. It will not be credited to any man or woman but all will recognize that it is the glory of the Lord resting upon them. It will usher in unity as competition, jealously and the jostling for positions fall away. A oneness will come upon God’s chosen remnant as Jesus prayed for in John 17:21-23. All credit and praise will be given to the Lord!

The light in the midst of darkness will be like the “rending of a veil” that has blinded many from seeing that Jesus is the Light of the World. Seekers of light will see the true Light for the first time! Many in the new age and cults will see the truth and turn to Jesus. Many looking for true identity will see the image of Jesus and find their God-given identity for the first time! His light will trumpet truth and reveal Christ. Many will be “crowned with salvation.” Jesus will be restore as the “center.”

Though this Coronavirus is a bad report that is affecting all people with fear; there is a good report coming from the Throne of God! A virus multiplies within living cells of its host but we will see the glory of the Lord multiply in those who host His Spirit and His presence. The solution to this demonic virus is to host His presence! His Spirit will come with power to heal, deliver, save and reveal the Light of the World.

Let’s become the hosts of light and the presence of the Lord; then watch what His Spirit will do!

Your Delay Has Stored Up A Reservoir of Blessings— The Dam Is About to Break Open!

By Kathi Pelton

This morning in prayer I saw a vision of many of God’s people who have been experiencing long delays. In the vision they stood at a cement wall that was many stories high. The wall seemed to represent the delay and what was standing between them and the promises and prophetic words they had been given. It reminded me of the wailing wall in the old city of Jerusalem but it was smooth and much higher. But just like at the Wailing Wall (Western Wall) they were offering prayers, declaring scriptures and believing in the faithfulness of God to help them. Then I was taken up to the top of the wall and when I was at the top I realized that the wall was actually a huge dam. I saw a massive reservoir of water at the top that was at maximum capacity. Then, suddenly I saw the dam begin to open up and water began to come forth upon the people who had been waiting, praying and believing for breakthrough.

Then I heard the Spirit speak saying, “The delays have stored up a great reservoir of blessings that will begin to be poured out like a heavy Spring rain. It will saturate My people’s lives with promises fulfilled, provisions, long awaited breakthroughs, answered prayers and a flood of blessings that exceed their expectations.”

The delays have prepared hearts and lives to receive the blessings; to steward them with integrity and humility. God has taught many how to give from the place of their need, to love from the place of pain and how to wait from the place of faith. These learned things have begun to open the floodgates.

It is easy to be generous in the midst of wealth, to love in moments of joy and to have faith when there is no need. But God has strengthened the character and hearts of His people through the delay. Those who remained at “this wall of faith” to pray, declare and believe are about to receive their breakthrough. Your generosity has greatly increased and now you will be trusted with more. Your love has greatly increased and now joy will break forth. Your faith has greatly increased and now you will scale mountains.

The delay has store up for you a wealth of blessings!

Thank You For Standing With Us!

Receive His “Kiss”— It Will Transform You!

By Kathi Pelton

During a time of worship the other day I asked the Lord what He was doing with His sons and daughters in that moment. Almost immediately I began to feel His forehead touch my forehead, the tip His nose touch the tip of my nose and then I felt His breath. I then realized that the Lord was greeting me (and His loved ones) with a “Honi.” Honi (pronounced HO – nee) is the traditional Hawaiian greeting. The english translation is “to kiss”, but actually, the original greeting was touching forehead to forehead, nose to nose and exchanging breath.

I have spent time in Hawaii and received this beautiful greeting. It is very intimate and vulnerable. The interesting thing is that since that moment (many days ago now) I have not yet stopped sensing this beautiful “greeting” cease. I still feel his head against mine, His nose touching my nose and His breath warming me with “the breath of heaven.”

The Maori people, indigenous to New Zealand, greet with “hongi” which is the same actions as the Hawaiian greeting. When you hongi, you touch forehead to forehead, nose to nose and exchange breath just like the “Honi.”

When the breath is exchanged during the “Honi” it is called, “ha”, or divine breath, which is held within each of us. When we exchange divine breath through the nose, it is the part of us that comes directly from Spirit. The breath of God.

It is believed that this type of greeting will reveal the the “intention” of the other person. The intention of the heart or motivation of the heart is what God transforms so that we can walk in purity and unity with one another. He is not only revealing the intention of His heart to His sons and daughters; which is pure, life-giving, merciful, kind and full of agape love but He is also imparting the purity to our hearts.

During this extended “Honi” that I have been experiencing, I asked the Lord to impart the purity of His intentions to me. His “Ha” (breath) is doing just that! I see Him standing before His people as they are in worship and prayer with their faces turned upwards toward Him and He is placing His forehead against their forehead, His nose against their nose and He is releasing a divine “Ha” or breath upon them. He is imparting to them (to you) both the revelation of His intentions toward them and also imparting the purity of His heart into them.

Like so many, I long for the motives of my heart to be pure! Yet, all to often I find selfish motives mixed into so many things that I do. But still, I will not stop until He makes my heart and my motives pure. So— I take pleasure in this lingering “Honi” (“Hongi”) and I receive His divine breath; the revelation of His pure intentions toward me and the impartation of purity for my heart.

2 Corinthians 13:12 says,
“Greet each other with a sacred kiss.”

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be greeted by one another with pure intentions and motives? All too often we have been greeted with impurities that have left many feeling used, unwanted or divided from one another. Our “Western Handshake” is void of breath and does not reveal or even require the intention of the other to be revealed or intimacy to be entered into. God has come with a “sacred and holy” kiss— a Honi.

Receive His greeting and allow yourself to linger there. Linger until His breath has brought revelation and impartation. Don’t break the intimacy of this “kiss” or “breath of God” that will transform you.

Leaving The Shallows

Leaving The Shallows
Kathi Pelton

When my kids where young and we spent a lot of time as a family at lakes and at the ocean, I was always shouting out to them to “stay in the shallows.” Why? Because it is a safe place for young children to play.

As new believers we do the same thing in our infant state. We start small by playing “in the shallows” of God’s love. There we begin to learn His ways, His faithfulness, His character and His truths. Every once in a while new believers go immediately to the deep waters but often end up disillusioned or overcome because true faith requires knowing the One that you are putting your faith in.

I often see many believers (who have walked with God for many years) “stay living in the shallows” their entire lives. They know God, they know His promises and they have seen His faithfulness yet they still want to play it safe. Fear of the “deep end” keeps them in shallow places.

I was definitely one of those young believers that needed a constant lifeguard because I was never satisfied with the shallows and was constantly jumping into the deep end without knowing how to truly depend on Him. My strength was my source in those days and it rarely lasted very long before I found myself sinking and drowning in my soul (thank God for rescue angels and friends!).

I have now walked with Jesus as my Savior for 38 years (and four years more “exploring if I should commit). About 25 years ago my husband and I knew it was time to dive into the deep end of faith— we were ready to find Him there. The difference was that we had learned that “in our weakness He manifests His strength!” We understood that we were about to be made very weak and come to the end of our strength so that we could learn to rely fully upon His strength. We knew it would hurt and stretch us but we knew the discover of Him was worth it!

Even more than the natural risks we were began taking 25 years ago (by moving to another country, leaving everyone we knew and loved, leaving the familiar; leaving the shallows)— the risk of facing things being completely out of our control and coming to the end of our strengths was what sobered me the most. But it was at the end of my ability to control my life and circumstances that I began becoming intimately acquainted with His loving faithfulness. It was at the end of my soul’s need to understand and comprehend that I began to learn and experience “the peace of God that exceeded my understanding.” And, it was at the end of my physical, emotional and spiritual strength that I was weak enough to find His strength that comes with great power!

Sometimes I wonder to myself, “Why don’t you just stay in the shallows where it is safe?” But in the shallows are not where faith is needed, my love is tested and my weakness made strong by His strength. It is not where dependency is so tested that it turns into intimacy. It is not where “oneness with God” is made manifest in my life.

There is a time, when we are babies in Christ, that we “play in the shallows” so that we begin to become acquainted with who He is; because those formative days are needed to know how to live the depths. Knowing Him and His ways are vital because your soul must learn to depend upon His Spirit that lives within you. But as we grow we outgrow the shallows and must venture into deeper places.

“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11

There is risk in living in the deep places, not visiting or occasionally jumping in for a momentary plunge, but actually living there. It is a risk because it requires full surrender! It requires not playing it safe, not being able to figure it out, not comprehending it and not being in control. It will take you to weakness so that you can discover true strength. Not your strength but His.

All of these requirements do not equal misery (as I once believed) because when God takes over what happens is that you come into true dependency which ushers in true rest for your soul, true peace that silenced the warfare of doubt, true joy that no longer depends upon circumstances and an “awe and wonder” as you watch His strength do what you could never do!

I love “gifts and talents”; they’re beautiful and amazing, but they will only highlight “you” until they are fully surrendered to Him in the deep places. Just look at Hollywood! So many gifted and talented people who have gained fame but become completely lost in the wreckage of their own limited strength. I have spent years traveling and being acquainted with amazingly “gifted and talented” believers (even ones who are well-known); but only a remnant of them have moved beyond their “gifting” to discover Him in absolute surrender. Their identity had to die to discover His within them. Many who didn’t learn this have fallen away.

I love surrounding myself with people who have learned to live in the depths; beyond the place that they are in control. These people don’t put on airs, pretenses or masks. They don’t jostle for position because they have gone so low that only God is lifted up. They call me deeper and make me aware of the places that I’ve yet to surrender. They have been made into His likeness and I see His image within them.

The shallows aren’t bad when you are a child, but don’t stay there. If you desire true joy, rest, peace and love you must come to the end of circumstantial joy, rest, peace and love. Intimacy is waiting for every believer but it is found in surrender. It is found in letting go of “you” to grab hold of Him.

He’s inviting you now, “Come deeper My child.”

“Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.” Psalm 42:7

A Jubilee Dream

On 2/9/2020 (into the morning of 2/10) I had a dream that lasted all night that had three themes:

• Jubilee
• Awe & Wonder
• A Renewed Heart of Gratitude

These themes filled my dreams last night— in the dreams I saw large debts forgiven and brought to the place of “zero balance owed.” It was a financial jubilee! Along with this jubilee, the recipients were given the gift of “awe and wonder!” Many of these recipients had become a numb as they went through one hardship after another but this jubilee caused their hearts to be awakened to the glorious awe and wonder of the overwhelming love and kindness of God. This awe renewed a heart of gratitude within them that awakened prayer, worship and love like they’d never known before.

Many of His people are about to discover the awe and wonder that comes from the loving kindness of God. This discovery will resurrect depths of love for God and for others that take their breath away.

“Discover” is the word that will define what they are about encounter because they will discover awe, wonder, grace, miracles, gratitude and love in a way that transforms every part of their lives.

Thank you Jesus for such kindness! We stand in awe of You!
