Do You Need Relief From Fear? Here’s What The Lord Told Me…

By Kathi Pelton

I battled fear for many years! It was a gripping fear that would consume me and rob me from experiencing joy. I would obey (say yes) to the Lord and then as I began to walk it out I’d be gripped by a soulish terror that was traumatizing. A number of years ago God brought me through a season of healing and freedom from this “spirit of fear.” It was a process of learning trust and peace but because we live in this world there is always the temptation or opportunity to allow fear to return.

When God recently called our family to move from the West Coast to Virginia (we arrived less than a week ago) and live in the Washington DC region I have to admit that the challenges and obstacles that were before us to make this move where an “invitation to become fearful.” The day we said “yes” was filled with some anxious moments as I dealt with my soul. When I took my anxious thoughts before the Lord, He took me into a vision. In this vision I saw the disciples on the deck of the boat in the midst of the storm (Mark 4:35-41) while Jesus slept in the stern of the boat. The disciples were in a fearful panic for their very lives! As I saw this scene the Lord spoke to me and said,

“Daughter, you have two choices; you can live on the deck of fear, focusing on the storm, or you can find where I am and come rest with Me.”

Jesus was not going to let anything happen to His disciples because He knew that the Father was watching over Him (then). In this story, He gave us a beautiful and powerful example of His posture in sudden storms— rest! Just as He rested in the care of His Father, we too, can rest in the shadow of His wing in the midst of the storms.

As we walked through the process of a complete life change, location change (3000 miles from anything familiar), leaving our youngest son, our church, our dearest friends, our home and saying yes to a new financial demand (and spiritual atmosphere) that would take the stretching of our faith once again— I decided to allow my soul to rest with Jesus in the stern of the boat. Though there has been a constant demand on my physical body; my soul (my heart, mind and emotions) needed to be at rest.

If you are experiencing fear, anxiety or a sudden storm— find where Jesus is and let your soul abide with Him there! The “deck of fear” is where the storm will beat against you relentlessly! It will scream defeat with every crashing wave. But there is an invitation into the hidden place (beneath the deck…in the stern) where your soul can find rest.

This is your promise and this is the stern of the boat where you will find rest:

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”” Psalms‬ ‭91:1-16‬

The key is where you dwell! If you choose to live on the deck, trying to save yourself, you will experience the crashing waves but if you will go into the place of abiding in Him with absolute surrender to trusting in Him— you will find rest for your soul and be free from the fear of the day’s arrows and of night’s terrors. Because He loves you, He will rescue you!

Leave the deck of fear and allow you soul to find Jesus and find rest. There is joy in the absence of fear. There is peace in the presence of Jesus! ————————————————–

The Waters Are Parting

By Kathi Pelton

The body of Christ is in a time of a corporate “crossover.” Whether it involves a geographical move, a career move, or a ministry move…it really doesn’t matter because there is a corporation “spiritual move” that is happening for all. This is a move of His Spirit that aligns us with God’s times and seasons. Though we can prophetically describe what we are seeing and sensing, no one really knows what is on the other side.

Some prophets are prophesying the greatest move of God the earth has ever seen and others are prophesying the overcoming of the darkest hours ever known but I’d like to suggest that it’s most likely not either/or but both/and.

In Psalm 23 we read the words, “He prepares a table for you in the presence of my enemies.” This may be the most accurate description of what is on the other side. I believe that we are in the midst of this massive crossover. We aren’t on the shores of where we were nor are we on the other side but we are crossing over on supernatural dry ground in the midst of what should overcome us or prevent us from getting to the other side.

The Father has set a table for us and had rung the dinner bell for all to come and feast at His table. It will be in the presence of our enemies. That does not need to cause you fear because God is with you and you do not have go focus on the enemy but rather in the One who has set a table for you. The battle in this new day and new land is different so our perspective needs to adjust. We must adjust from being “enemy focused” to being “Jesus focused!”

Battles will be won by hearing and obeying in a posture of peace and rest in His victory. This is not about your spiritual strength to overcome the enemy but about allowing His strength to be made known in the midst of human weakness. David didn’t defeat Goliath because of skill or strength but because He put His trust in the name of His God and stayed true to his identity.

Jericho’s walls shouldn’t have fallen because of a shout and Goliath shouldn’t have fallen because of a stone; yet the impossible fell because men did not put their trust in their weapons or their wisdom but in the name of their God!

This is how we must live in the new land. We feast at the table of the Lord with the whole family and we watch victories come as we trust in the name of our God! It’s not about the one man or one woman but about the whole family walking in oneness with our God.

Today, Anita Alexander (an Australian prophetic voice), saw a vision of the ocean waters standing up to salute the King. She said, “Creation is saluting the King!” This was so amazing because in November I was taken into a vision of the massive crossing over that was about to occur and in this encounter the rushing river that stood between the people and the promise land stood up like a soldier and saluted the people passing through. Creation was honoring (like an honor guard) the sons and daughters of the King. I believe both visions are happening in this hour.

We are being honored as we give all the glory and honor to our King. Creation will cooperate with “making a way where there is no way!” Miracles will not just be a prophetic metaphor from past times but a reality that are seen by all in present time.

We are moving from individual anointings into a corporate anointing. The focus is no longer about the individual pieces but about the oneness of the family being joined and in their right places to fulfill the prayer of Jesus in John 17; that we would be one just as they are one! Nations will be saved because of oneness! A harvest of souls will be saved because of a “family” that has made a home for those coming in. And walls will fall because we march and shout together!

Do not be discouraged by all the shifting. Do not allow the feelings of being disoriented by the unfamiliar to stop your forward movement. As you salute and honor your King, creation is saluting you as the heirs of the King. You are crossing over and though there are battles to be won ahead; there is a table set before you in the presence of your enemies. There will be enemies but there will be feasting.

You will learn to feast in the battle and rest in the storm because the King has been given the honor He deserves. For now, the waters are parting and standing up to make way for a procession of purity to enter the new land; for it is the pure in heart who will see God!

Step forth! Your faith and obedience has opened the way!

Our family and ministry base is now 24 hours into our cross country move from the West Coast to the East Coast (Washington DC region). We are still $700 short of our fundraiser goal. If you would like to help us reach our goal you can donate through our ministry site or through our GoFundMe site. Here are the two links: http://bit.ly/2qNqBI2 or https://www.inscribeministries.com/

THANK YOU FOR STANDING WITH US!

Time to Crossover!

In 24 hours our moving truck arrives! We will pack it and begin the drive from Oregon to Virginia— our new home and ministry base.

This is a huge transition with a huge price tag but the Lord asked us to go to the Washington DC region for our next assignment and we will always say, “Yes” to the One who is worthy.

Some have asked why we are raising funds if the Lord asked us to go (saying that if He asked He will provide). Our answer to that is that God made family and partnership within that family; just as we can ask for prayer, counsel, encouragement— we can also ask for financial support. God often provides through His family so that all receive a blessing.

We have spent years giving and often sacrificially, but in everything we’ve ever given we received back more than we gave. It’s how the Kingdom of God works.

Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

This has been our experience and therefore when we invite you to give, we also invite you into the overflow of His promised blessing.

On January 4th we will begin our almost 3000 mile journey across the nation to begin to enter into what the Lord has asked of us. We invite you to enter in with us through prayer and by giving a financial gift.

We have a GoFundMe page that is only $1300 from reaching its goal! Here is the link to give through our fundraiser: http://bit.ly/2qNqBI2

You can also go onto our ministry website and give through our donate button at: https://www.inscribeministries.com/

We bless you, pray for you, decree favor and abundance upon 2020 for you and your household. Thank you for standing with us and helping us reach our goal!

Your Set Back Is Your Set Up To See His Glory

By Kathi Pelton

Many of you are experiencing sudden “set backs” or what would appear to you as set backs. But the Lord has a better word for you, “Your current set back is actually a set up to see My glory come into your adversity.”

I assure you that in most cases the Lord did not cause your set back but He takes what the enemy means to harm you to set you up for a miraculous supernatural intervention— you will see His glory in your set back!

Right now our youngest daughter and her husband are traveling 2800 miles by car across the country to carry out their “yes” to go to where God is sending them. We will be joining them in just over a week. Their first day was what appeared to be set back after set back. Yet, we watched their set backs set them up to cause everything that began as a negative turned into a testimony of God’s goodness and hand upon them.

The great “I Am” is manifesting as the great “I Will!” He will do for you what you cannot do for yourself! He is the God of impossibilities and you need to know that the impossible does not frighten Him or worry Him! It merely creates a story board for the miraculous to be carried out!

We don’t go looking for set backs and we do not want to just accept attacks and delays but when God allows them to come; we can know that we are in a divine set up and we can rest in His faithfulness. The enemy wants to push you down but the Lord is saying, “Stand up and watch with joy because I Am about to break in with your breakthrough!”

“So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19

I have heard many teachings on this verse and some say that the original language actually depicts a picture that would say, “When the enemy comes; like a flood— the Lord comes to lift up a standard against him.” Either way works for me!

There certainly are times that it feels like we are taken off guard by a “flash flood” of negative circumstances and set backs. And yet, even then it remains even more true that the Lord will come like a flood to propel us forward and set the enemy back! His standard will be raised in the midst of adversity and impossibilities! The fear of the Lord will come upon all who see what He does for you!

Don’t be sat down or set back but stand up and watch as the Lord propels you forward with a flood of His supernatural power. I hear heaven singing the old hymn, “There is power, power, wonder working power in the blood of the Lamb!”

It is being sung over you while angelic help and sovereign intervention is coming to release His glory in your story!

A Night To Remember and Rejoice

by Kathi Pelton

The third night of Hanukkah this year is coinciding with Christmas Eve— the eve of our Savior’s birth. As we remember another night of the miraculous light that burned in the temple we also remember the announcement of the angels that the miracle of a virgin giving birth would bring light into the world.

Luke 2:8-20 –And in the same area there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And then an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were very afraid. But the angel said to them, “Listen! Do not fear. For I bring you good news of great joy, which will be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign to you: You will find the Baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”

“Suddenly there was with the angel a company of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will toward men.”

Good news of great joy! This light, who’s name is Jesus, has never dimmed or stopped burning. The oil of His love, joy, grace, mercy and kindness still fills the temple and the hearts of all who believe. All the earth us filled with His glory.

Tonight as our family lights the third candle we will remember our Savior and the eve of His birth; his young mother had no room to lay her head as she prepared to bring forth the greatest gift known to mankind. We will remember that He came, He lived among us, He revealed His Father to us and He paid the price for our sin in order to reconciled us to God. Tonight will bask in the joyous and triumphant miracle of His resurrection on the third day!

We join with all the angles to announce “tidings of great joy” to a world that is searching for true joy. Because He lives we now have become a light that shines in the darkness with the miraculous oil of His love and salvation. The miracle oil still burns today. Joy to the world— the LORD HAD COME, let earth receive her King!

The hope of Israel came! He came as a miraculous light in the form of a tiny baby. Yet, the government rests upon His shoulders and His Kingdom has no end. Rejoice, rejoice…Emmanuel has come and is with us always!

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice. From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:6-7

Merry Christmas Eve and Happy Hanukkah!

Thank you to all who have stood with us in prayer and support as we prepare to make the 3000 mile journey across our nation on January 4th. We remember Mary, who traveled on the back of a donkey while pregnant with our Savior and we rejoice that our “small hardship” is unto Him!

If you would like to give a gift of financial support as we cross over to live in the Washington DC region (Virginia), we would be so blessed to receive your gift of love. Go give go to: https://www.inscribeministries.com/

“Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit…”

By Kathi Pelton

“Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit…”

Tonight at sunset the second candle of Hanukkah will be lit. The oil was only supposed to last for one night but it miraculously lasted for eight nights.

I believe that today, on this second night (when the oil should have run out) that miracles of multiplication will be seen once again. If there is an area that you are lacking in and what you have will not last for what you need tomorrow, begin to declare the words, “Not by might, nor by power, but by Your spirit…”

His Spirit releases the oil of multiplication and will prosper and multiply what you have as it is used and offered in faith. When there was only enough oil for one night they didn’t hold it back but lit the lamp— they used the oil. As they did, God multiplied it so that it lasted until the process of producing more oil was completed. Eight full days. The number eight Biblically represents new beginnings.

Often we hold back when we don’t have enough for the days ahead. But, that is because many live in the fear that God won’t keep His promise in our “tomorrow” if we don’t see it today. Yet, it is only what we hold back that is truly lost. If the oil hadn’t been used to light the first night’s lamp then the other nights of miracles would never had happened.

I remember a miracle that happened when my family was living out of our country as missionaries. We only had enough money to buy food for that day. We had four kids and about four dollars to our name. That small amount would buy milk and eggs. But on that Sunday morning at church the Lord asked me if I would give it to Him. I fussed with fear for a moment and then emptied the small amount of provision we had from my purse into the offering. Somehow we made it through the week with what we had and the next Sunday our leaders decided to honor us and asked us to come to the front of the church. They asked the people to pour money into our laps. That morning we received almost $8,000!!! More than enough! My $4 was multiplied into $8,000!! God didn’t need my original $4 but He wanted to pour the oil of His Spirit upon my small faith and watch it grow!

Our Heavenly Father held nothing back from us. He gave His only Son as a light that miraculously has continued to burn and bring forth more sons and daughters then ever could be counted. He is the “servant candle” on the lamp stand of our lives; lighting all the others!

Hold nothing back! When we hold back we align with “worrying about tomorrow!” Trust Him and give what is supplied today and watch the miracle of multiplication touch your “oil” and bring light to your life for many days to come.

Happy Hanukkah— day two!

Step Into The River That Rages Between You And Your Promise

by Kathi Pelton

The body of Christ is in a great time of crossing over. This is happening in both the spirit and in the natural realm. Many are packing up everything as they prepare to cross over from the wilderness home they have known into the land of inheritance they will possess.

As the crossover time from one decade to another is now less than two weeks away, God’s people are experiencing a preparation and call to stand up out of the familiar, out of the comfortable, out of the stagnant place, and move into the new land. Once again, for some this is a shift in their spiritual posture, and for others it is both spiritual and physical.

For my family it it both. The Lord began to speak to us almost nine months ago about a move to the Washington D.C./Virginia region. We have lived on the West Coast our entire lives so this came as quite a surprise and honestly, quite a challenge. When we determined (and discerned) that this move was certain we suddenly were hit with great opposition. Our finances were hit (even our monthly support took a large hit), my physical health was hit so hard that it looked like the possibility of any move would have to be delayed for many months, and circumstances that needed to fall into place were just not happening. Impossibilities were surrounding us like a great army of opposition.

So— we waited. We paused and we ascended the mountain of God to get face to face with Him. During one of my mornings in prayer I heard Him say, “Daughter, it’s time to step your feet into the river that rages between you and your land of inheritance. That which opposes you will stand up and honor you.”

I asked Him if this was a spiritual or a natural step? He replied, “Both.” He then revealed to me what the natural (physical) step needed to be and in obedience I took that step. It was a costly and risky step of faith, but within twenty-four hours everything shifted and the raging waters began to part. Not every detail was in place but we were able to place our feet upon dry ground, and with every step forward the waters of opposition have stood up and made a way for us.

Absolutely impossible circumstances that had no answers suddenly had answers and all of the physical symptoms that I had been experiencing—and that were leaving doctors baffled—stopped overnight. We began crossing over!

I sense that our testimony is a prophetic announcement over many of you. It is time to put your feet in the river that has been raging between you and your Promised Land. What has opposed you will stand up like a soldier that salutes you as you pass by. This may require a spiritual step or a natural step; or like us—both. Ask the Lord what it looks like for you to step into the river of spiritual or natural circumstances that is preventing you from crossing over. He will “direct your step(s).”

As you go forward you also need to know what to bring and what to leave behind. For us, this is occurring in the physical realm and the spiritual realm. In both cases there have been good things, and even useful things, that the Lord has said would not be needed in the next season. Parting with these things that have always been fruitful or useful has been an act of faith but we know they are making room for the new. We’ve never been this way before so we don’t know what we will need in the days ahead, but we know that we must make room for the new by leaving behind some of the old.

One thing I am experiencing (which I believe is a prophetic picture) is that, in the natural, even what I have loved and found “homey” in regards to the way I decorate my home is having to change. I will be about to pack something for our new home and the Spirit will say, “That is part of the old design. I have something new.” To me this speaks of taking off old mantles and making room for new ones. We are stepping into new mantles that will radically change the way we function, and even alter the appearance of “who we are.” There are days that I spend so much time getting rid of things that I wonder if I’ll have anything to fill the new with. But we must trust that the Lord is making room for the new, and not try to fill the empty space with something just because it feels empty at the moment. There are many provisions that will come as you step into the new.

Do not be overly concerned with what you don’t have as you move forward, but be careful about what you do have that you need to let go of. Those are the things that will hinder you, slow you down, and become obstacles in the days ahead. You don’t have to understand His ways but you do have to trust His wisdom! Letting go and trusting Him is key in this hour.

In this process you can be experiencing times of stress or sudden anxiety. That is normal because you may be crashing into the “boundaries” of your faith. We don’t like to believe that our faith has boundaries, but in times of transition you will most likely run headlong into a boundary line of faith. It is the level to which your faith has been tested and proved in the past seasons, but suddenly God is calling you to cross over beyond that point of faith that you’ve walked in before. The moment you begin there is a new giant waiting there to mock you and intimidate you with fear. I find it so helpful to pray out of Philippians 4:7 each day,

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Let His peace be the guard over your heart and mind as you go into new territory and as you expand your spiritual walk further than you have gone before. He is extending the tent pegs (Isaiah 54). You may be confident in facing a lion or a bear but a giant is altogether something new!

So, be patient with yourself and with those around you, because so many are in transition and it is a very vulnerable place to be. Change is hard. The unfamiliar is just that: unfamiliar and unknown. We are entering new cultures and assignments, and the boundaries of people’s faith are being expanded and stretched. This involves our souls being refined, and fears that we have never had to face are suddenly “in our face”! This process is challenging motives of the heart and purifying aspects of our lives that needed to be made pure. So, don’t be too hard on yourself or on your neighbor, your spouse, your friend, or your leader. We are all being stretched and what was normal is no longer normal.

Finally, pray for the grace for yourself and others found in Ephesians 4:2-6,

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

‭‭It’s time to step into the river!

OUR BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

We are moving to Virginia to stand with our nation, pray from DC and to see our nation turn back to God! Will you stand with us and we prepare to go?

We have lived our entire lives on the West Coast. No matter where we’ve traveled in the world; we always returned to the West Coast to go home. That will change as of January 4th, 2020. We will begin our 3000 mile journey across the nation to make Virginia our new home and ministry base.

We received a prophetic word that said, “This is not just another move— this is your destiny!” God has confirmed His desire for us to live in Virginia and to turn our attention to turning our nation back to God. Jesus is worthy of His full inheritance and we will join forces with those that have labored with great sacrifice to see God’s original intent for our nation fulfilled.

Although we know that “He who called us will make a way for us.”, we also heard Him say, Invite My people to enter into this destiny journey with you.” We are a family and God loves it when the family stands together to bring the breakthrough. It makes our Papa proud!

Therefore, we are asking if you would like to be a part of our destiny journey by helping us cross the country to settle into a new land? The Lord said, “Look at the nation through My eyes; it is flowing with milk and honey!” That is His good report that we are believing as we crossover.

A GoFundMe account has been created for those who feel to stand with us as we step our feet in the river. In faith we are believing for the water to part so that we can cross over on dry land. If you would like to be a part of our journey by sowing into this destiny move then here is the link:

Receive Your Crown: It Is Coronation Day!

by Kathi Pelton

This morning I heard the words, “Bow down, it is time to receive your crown.”

Often, as Christians, our focus is to cast down our crowns before our beautiful King but the Lord made it clear to me today that there is a coronation ceremony happening in the spirit where God is crowning His chosen ones to walk in their sovereign positions as kings and queens who represent the crown of the King of Kings.

I saw that now is the time for the sons and daughters to enter into their birth rights and to receive their crown. There is great inheritance within your birth right and because you have been born into a King’s family (born again) that inheritance is yours. It is time to take your place and to begin to access your inheritance.

Like in the days of Queen Esther, the King’s scepter is being extended, the signet ring is being placed upon the hand of the rightful recipients, favor is being shown and crowns are being placed upon the heads of those who have been prepared for “such a time as this!”

Not only is there a coronation ceremony happening but as it is happening there is something else simultaneously happening; it is the “hanging of the antagonist.”

Haman was the antagonistic figure in the Book of Esther and there has been a Haman spirit sent to try to destroy God’s people but suddenly the very gallows that he erected to destroy God’s chosen ones will now be used to “hang this antagonist!”

God is asking if you will bow down before Him to receive the crown that you were born to wear. You didn’t earn it, you weren’t elected to wear it by any man but it is because you were born into a royal family and now is the time to walk in what you were born to do.

All of Heaven is gathered for watch this coronation ceremony. Bow before Him and allow Him to crown you with His crown of authority where you will rule and reign with Him.

We have a huge announcement on Tuesday so be sure to watch for it! If you would like to “sow in faith” into our ministry and what we are about to announce, go to: https://www.inscribeministries.com/

We believe that there is a breakthrough anointing upon sowing into our “suddenly!”

Has God Said?

by Kathi Pelton

There are three words that the enemy has not stopped using to abort God’s purposes, tempt God’s people and undermine God’s truth since as far back as the Garden of Eden,

“Has God said?”

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” Genesis 3:1

These three words brought doubt and that doubt brought unbelief and the unbelief brought forth disobedience. These three words changed mankind and introduced sin to what had been pure. I can quite honestly say that I have been tempted on many occasions to make a wrong decision based on the battle that comes when the enemy speaks these words.

My husband and I are currently in one of the biggest transitions of our lives. It is our conviction that the Lord has asked us to do something that will change so much in our lives (we will announce it soon) but the moment that the decision to obey the Lord was made, the enemy came like a serpent in the garden with those three words, “Has God said?”

The problem is that those three words are just the opening of a flood of other words and accusations that make you wonder if you truly have heard. It is the doorway to fears, doubts and anxious thoughts. “Has God truly said?”

But we can put our confidence in these words from our precious Saviour,

“My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:27

The voice that questions God’s people saying, “Has God said.” Immediately brings confusion, anxiety, doubt and turmoil. Yet, when God speaks, even to correct or adjust, it brings peace, freedom, stability and resolve.

In our personal transition we have had people come and say, “Are you sure?” Or, even provide an altered interpretation for what we are hearing. These are good and spiritual people who love us but it has been a test for our souls to see if we will hear and obey by standing firm and following Him. We listen to counsel, advice, the voices of friends and family but we the weigh and discern it to the voice of our beloved Shepherd.

His voice brings a deep conviction of “Yes” but the “Has God said?” voice seeks to shatter your conviction and alter your path and actions.

I was telling a friend today that the moment we made our final decision to obey this radical change that we are transitioning into, those three dreadful words came like a wet blanket or bucket of ice water in our face. I literally wanted to scream like a woman in the midst of the most intense part of birth, “MISSION ABORT!” (not abort a baby but abort our decision!) I entertained the “Has God Said?” voice just long enough to make me want to run the other direction and choose the familiar, the easy and the known over this unfamiliar, hard and strange new land.

I’m only sharing our current story because your story may be similar. My mistake was allowing my thoughts to take the bait of “Has God Said?” and actually doubt my ability to hear His voice which brought me into an entire day of emotional turmoil and questioning.

Don’t take the bait! God will speak to you and He will be sure to “keep you from falling.” You will hear, make your plans and it is God who then will order your steps. When the enemy comes to question you so that you doubt what you’ve heard, panic and fear enters in; you can be assured that this is not the voice of your God.

So, the one thing that I can assure you that God IS NOT saying is, “Has God said?”

There is great wisdom in the counsel of trusted friends and leaders! We have been walking with many during our journey and it is an amazing safety net. Yet, you may get different opinions even in the midst of trusted spiritual counsel. In the end you must follow His voice and put your confidence in the fact that YOU KNOW HIS VOICE!

There has not been one big transition in our lives where we did not face the enemy asking us this dreaded question. It should be our sure sign that God has said! Don’t compromise your conviction or your “yes” even though the offer to taste the fruit the serpent is tempting you with looks appealing. Especially when what God is asking has great personal sacrifice attached to it. The temptation to abort the mission or change your answer can seem very appealing in the moment.

To wrap this up; if you are hearing, “Has God said?” and it brings doubt, fear, rationalization and temptation to compromise then you can know that is not the voice of God. His voice will lead so that you can follow. He brings peace, a deep knowing and forward movement that is almost involuntary because it comes from your yielded and surrendered heart. It feels involuntary but it truly is not because you voluntarily said, “Not my will, but Your will be done.”

“God, right now I pray for all of those who are in transition and I pray for all who are stepping out in faith in response to the sound of your voice. I decree peace over their hearts and minds; the peace of Christ. I pray and decree an unprecedented favor over them as they follow you. I pray for the comfort of the Holy Spirit to rest upon them and upon all who are affected by their transition. I silence the voice of the serpent that questions their ability to hear their Shepherd. The Lord rebuke you, Satan. I pray for their ears to hear and for the crooked paths to be straight, the valleys to be raised up and the mountains to be lowered before them. God, I pray that you would increase their faith, their trust and their wisdom. Thank you for your faithfulness to speak and to lead your sheep. You don’t let your sheep go astray! Your Shepherd’s rod comforts your people as we know that you will use it to keep your flock on the right path. Lord, by your power break the confusion and turmoil off of those who heard the question, ‘Has God said?’ and it robbed their peace and their joy in the journey. Break off the doubt, fear and unbelief that was attached to the question and has now affected their souls. Restore to them the joy, peace and intimacy with you in every step of their journey. In the name above every name, Jesus Christ. Amen”
