It’s Time For Your Vats To Overflow!

By Kathi Pelton

Did you know that as believers we are not under the control of the chaos, confusion and circumstances of the world around us? The promises of God are above the bad reports of the earth below.

Today I was praying through the first and second chapters of the Book of Proverbs and I was so taken by the amazing wisdom that produces the promises of God to be made manifest in our lives as we “listen and obey.”

Here are just a few of them:

• If you cry out for insight and understanding, God will give you wisdom, knowledge and understanding. (2:1-4)

• As you receive wisdom, knowledge and understanding you will gain success! (2:6)

• As you live in integrity God will guard and protect your path. (2:7-9)

• As you walk in the wisdom of God you will be rescued from darkness. (2:9-20)

• As you live an upright life you will “inhabit the land and remain in it.” The wicked will be cut off and uprooted from it. (2:21-22)

• As you keep God’s commands He will give you many days, a full life and well-being. (3:1-2)

• As you hold fast to loyalty and faithfulness you will find favor WITH GOD AND MAN! (3:3-4)

• As you trust in the Lord and acknowledge His ways (not depending on your own understanding) He will guide you on the RIGHT paths. (3:5-6)

• As you fear the Lord and turn away from evil, healing will come to your body and strength to your bones. (3:7-8)

And, one last promise! This is a key one…

• As you honor the Lord with your processions and the first fruits of your increase He promises that YOUR BARNS WILL BE COMPLETELY FILLED AND YOUR VATS WILL OVERFLOW WITH NEW WINE!!

There are so many more promises that a lifestyle of wisdom and obedience ushers in. This is part of the amazing alignments that have been taking place. To live apart from obedience that comes from His wisdom is like trying to take a drink from a water fountain and turning it on but not aligning your mouth with the stream of water. The lack of alignment causes the flowing water to pour down the drain; never quenching your thirst.

We must open our spiritual mouths and then align our lives with the flowing wisdom that fills our lives to overflowing! Then our barns will be filled completely and the “vats” of our lives will overflow (a vat is a large tank that holds liquid). It’s time to hold the liquid of the new wine of His glory and His promises!

While the world eats of the “grapes of wrath” let us, as God’s people, be filled with the new wine that is grown in the vineyards of wisdom and oneness.

It’s time to align to drink the new wine!

Perfect Peace!

By Kathi Pelton

I wrote the following article three years ago. It came up today on my Facebook Memories and it is even more fitting today then it was then. I pray it blesses you!

Perfect Peace

In a world that is in constant chaos it can be a challenge to find peace. Yet we are told in Isaiah 26:3 that if we trust in the Lord and keep our minds on Him that we will not only have peace— but perfect peace.

Now, I don’t know about you but most of the battles that I face are fought on the battlefield of my mind. When earthly circumstances challenge my heavenly hope (faith) the initial battle is played out in my mind. Who will I trust? Will I trust in my natural means to fix the circumstances? Will I trust God? Will I let the storm dictate my direction or will I allow peace to keep me on the path of righteousness?

Will I live with merely a “sense of peace” or will I press in to obtain “perfect peace?”

Let’s just be honest; one of the battles that all mankind faces revolves around money and resources! Having resources (money or needed supplies) can give a real “sense of peace” that often can keep us from having to face some of life’s storms that lack can cause.

I remember an extended season of time in our family when we had more than enough in our bank account to take care of our own needs and even be able to help others in need. My husband’s business was prospering greatly. When our car needed new tires or had an engine problem we merely took it into our mechanic and told him to fix the problem. We didn’t lose peace because we knew that we had what we needed to pay for the problem to be fixed. If one of our children came to us with a need, I easily could say, “Dad and I will take care of that for you!” Our bills were paid early, our gas tanks were full, our kitchen had all of the food we needed and we gave generously to others without leaving us in need. Now, we know that money cannot fix the needs of relational issues or sickness but I wanted to give you an example of how a circumstantial blessing can give us a sense of peace.

Now let’s talk about perfect peace!

Perfect peace goes beyond a “sense of peace”. Money can come to an end; we can lose a job, economies can change or even tragedies can happen that money cannot fix. Then what? Where did that sense of peace go?

Whether we are in abundance or in great need, we need to nurture and practice living in the place of perfect peace. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the only sure thing! God never shifts or changes, He’s never unavailable, He’s never broke, sick or tired. We can go to Him day and night and know that His character remains true and perfect.

He will come into our storm tossed boat and calm the waves, speaking those familiar words. “Peace be still.” He has authority over EVERY earthly thing. Although He does not promise that the storms will not come, He does promise His perfect peace to calm you in the midst of the storm. The only condition to that promise is that we trust Him and keep our minds steadfast upon Him. We dwell on things above!

Are you in a storm today? When I begin to feel the battle in my mind I replace the anxious thoughts with the truths found in the Word! Every anxious question is answered with a promise of His peace and faithfulness. He then speaks the words, “Come into the safety of My perfect peace.” I don’t have to fix my eyes on my the lack or where earthly supply will come from because He has everything that I need. He has everything that you need. He is inviting you into this place of perfect peace as well. Breathe deep and enter in.

Isaiah 26:3 in the Amplified Bible says,

“You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

It’s time to fix our minds (our thoughts, affections and focus) upon Him with confidence in the fact that He is who He says He is! Trust Him even when answers seem delayed. Lean on Him with absolute confidence. Then, His peace will guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). In a world of uncertainties— there is One who we can be confidently certain of! He holds the whole world in His hands; the One who sets the boundaries of the seas also sets the boundaries of the storms that come upon the shores of your life. You will not be overcome for He has overcome and He will secure your boundaries!

A Preemptive Strike of Prayer— A Shaking For Awakening!

By Kathi Pelton

For days now I have had a deep sense that the enemy is trying to change times and seasons. His plan is to prematurely initiate things that would “buy him more time” and stop the Church from occupying land that he has held.

God will use this “pandemic/epidemic” to usher the Church into a greater purity and into the governmental authority that we were intended to walk in. As many of God’s people have joined in the 40-day “Jesus Fast” and now (beginning March 18th) a three-day Esther fast— I believe that this fast is unto a greater purification and authority for the days to come.

The enemy’s plan is to take this global crisis into a global shift that would change times and seasons but as I was woken up at 3 a.m. to pray, I heard the words,

“I have enacted a preemptive strike of prayer that will cut this global demonic assignment short!”

Corporate prayer will stop this in its tracks! As prayer is partnered with the fasting that is happening on a global scale, we will see this come to a sudden and miraculous halt. In this hour we have all witnessed prayer meetings move from the boundaries of buildings to the seemingly limitless expanse of the internet. Nations are joining together as ONE FAMILY to pray, stand with one another and to be the corporate voice of the Bride. Theological differences (opinions) and cultural differences are being set aside to raise our voices as one voice.

In the midst of a global tragic pandemic a global incense of prayer is being released and it is beautiful! It is uniting His people in an offering of prayer and praise. It is John 17:21-23 coming upon the Church.

“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.” ‭

In the midst of what was sent to separate us and isolate us; God has raised up a way to come into times and places of corporate authority, unity and agreement in order to launch a preemptive strike of prayer. We may not be physically together but we are joined in our spirits and online as nations gather to humble themselves and pray as one!

We are praying with nations and names that we never have joined with before this crisis began. Our schedules and lives have been interrupted but God is using it to awaken us from a slumber that was allowing the enemy to dictate time and change seasons.

On Monday morning I was at a prayer meeting and while I was there I went into a vision. In the vision I was trying to wake up my oldest son, who is a very heavy sleeper (VERY heavy sleeper!). I heard his alarm go off but it did not wake him up so I went into his room and began to gently shake him; still he did not wake up. I then realized that the hour was late and began to shake him harder. Finally I shook him with a force that shook everything around him. With that he was awakened— just in time to not be late.

I immediately knew that it was a vision revealing that there are those who have been in a “hard sleep” that needed a forceful shaking to finally awaken. My oldest son is part of the millennial generation and I felt that is was also to further awaken those upcoming leaders who are now young adults. The enemy wanted to have these ones sleep through his attempt to change times and seasons until it was “too late.”

God is using this shaking to awaken many to keep and align with His times and seasons; with His heart and longings. As I went into intercession following the vision I found my mouth crying out the words, “Awaken us from this ‘hard sleep’ that has caused our hearts to slumber in the hour of need.”

A couple years ago I was given a very detailed dream of a younger millennial generation. In this dream they would not sleep as the disciples did while Jesus prayed in the garden on the night of his betrayal. They would remain awake and “give Him no restuntil the end…” (Isaiah 62:7). In this very detailed dream (which I’ll share at another time) God called this generation His “Third Watch Generation.”

The third watch of the night is the midnight to 3 a.m. hours. There are four watches of the night; the fourth being from 3 am to 6 am which finishes the night. Many believe that we are in the “fourth watch” of the ages but in this dream the Lord clearly spoke and called the young adults of this day “The Third Watch Generation.” They may be the trip wire for the third great awakening. But it may take a great shaking (as we are experiencing) to awaken many of them from a “hard sleep” so that they, “Give Him no rest!” They may be the ones to usher in the fourth and final watch?

Let this shaking awaken every place in each of us that has been in a “hard sleep.” Let’s awaken to first love and not turn him away when He comes to knock upon the door of our hearts.

Throughout this week the words from Songs of Solomon 3:1-4 have been going through my spirit,

“By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him, but I did not find him. “I will rise now,” I said, “And go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love.” I sought him, but I did not find him. The watchmen who go about the city found me; I said, “Have you seen the one I love?” Scarcely had I passed by them, When I found the one I love. I held him and would not let him go, Until I had brought him to the house of my mother, And into the chamber of her who conceived me.”

In this time of shaking, prayer and fasting may we be like the bride running through the streets looking for the “one we love” and may we find Him, hold Him and not let Him go!

This shaking is causing a preemptive strike that stops the enemy from changing times and seasons but even greater— it is awakening first love!

What If This Is A Dress Rehearsal?

By Kathi Pelton

The late John Paul Jackson prophesied about two pandemics that would come; the first would mainly produce fear but the second one would be very serious. I am sobered by the fact that God gave us words that we see coming to pass in our current days through voices that “left us too soon” like John Paul Jackson, Kim Clement and Jill Austin. “Give us ears to hear, Lord!”

As I’ve watched fear empty the shelves of grocery stores and even online warehouses I began to think about Joseph and how God gave him the interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream (Genesis 41) where there would be seven years of abundance and seven years of famine. Because Joseph was given the interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream he was given Pharaoh’s signet ring and put in charge of Egypt during this fourteen year period. Joseph took from the abundance of the seven years and stored grain “beyond what they could measure” that would provide in the days of famine that were coming. During the famine the nations went to Egypt to receive from Joseph’s storehouses the provision that would sustain their lives.

Yesterday I kept hearing in my spirit three words, “Fill Joseph’s Storehouse!”

What if what we are experiencing today with the COV-19 is merely the dress rehearsal for a much more serious pandemic? If it is a dress rehearsal then we, as the church, were not prepared! Where is the wisdom of Joseph that fills the storehouses with grain for the days of famine?

Will the Church arise and take the signet ring of the Lord to take charge and become storehouses that are “filled beyond measure!”

Yes, we want to fill the vats of heaven with prayer first and foremost; we are doing that. Yes, we want to prepare by turning the hearts of sons back to fathers and daughters back to their mothers! We are longing for that! Yes, we want to return to the fear of the Lord that releases wisdom; we are humbling ourselves to receive that wisdom. But, maybe we have forgotten to steward the practical provisions that will be greatly sought after in days of “famine” (or in another global pandemic).

What if the church had storehouses of abundant supplies that were “beyond measure” for the days to come? The nations of the world would come to where the storehouses are in the days of great need.

I am first an intercessors and worshipper; but I want that intercession to release wisdom that has foresight for the days to come. I love the prayer of Solomon in 1 Kings 3,

“…And now, O Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of David my father, although I am but a little child. I do not know how to go out or come in. And your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people, too many to be numbered or counted for multitude. Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”

We need to be given an “understanding mind” to govern this great people! Both Solomon and Joseph were given “understanding minds” to know how to lead and govern; both spiritually and practically. Again, first and foremost, we need to see our nations (our hearts) turned back to God. Solomon’s prayer in 1 Kings 8:22-61 while dedicating the temple confirms that (read and pray those verses for your nation) but often we forget that we need an understanding mind to know how to prepare practically (to steward the abundance we’ve been given). Will we be the much needed storehouse when famine comes?

Let’s begin to ask the Lord to give us wisdom (an understanding mind) of how we, the Church, can become Joseph’s storehouse that is filled with grain for the days that are coming. I looked around my house this week and realized, “I am not prepared! Have I eaten my seed that was for the days of famine?” It’s a real question. This isn’t shame or condemnation but rather a sobriety of the current state of things.

Will God in His great mercy give us time to prepare? Will He give us seven years of plenty so that we will steward abundance for the sake of times of famine? Will we eat the “above and beyond” or store it for the days ahead? God, have mercy upon your people and sober us in this time to humble ourselves and ask for wisdom and an understanding mind.

If we will do this we will see the very ones who “threw us in the pit because of our dreams” come to us in times of great need and hold their hands out to receive from us (spiritually and practically). They will be like Joseph’s brothers and be restored to us; they will show honor the ones that they had previously mocked and threw into a pit.

We are to be the answer to a world in need; spiritually and practically. It’s not “either or” but “both and…

I do not know if what we are experiencing is a dress rehearsal but if it is we have been found wanting and must let this be a wake up call to both dedicate the temple AND to fill the storehouses!

Give us understanding minds God!

It’s Time To Prophesy His Answer!!

By Kathi Pelton

All day yesterday I kept hearing the Spirit of the Lord say,

“Turn your prayers into prophetic decrees over those areas that refuse to move! I have heard your prayers so now prophesy My answer!”

It’s time to prophesy what the Lord has said over that area, that person or that circumstance that seemingly will not budge! You have His Word to back you with authority over every place of resistant and opposition!

Faith is the ASSURANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR— ASSURANCE!! Not hope deferred but assurance! It’s time to enact Hebrews 11:1.

The enemy is trying everything he can do to get you stuck in disappointment and hope deferred. He wants to make you heartsick! Don’t give him any part of your heart because Jesus is your assurance and your great fulfillment. Prophesy to that which is shouting “you’re defeated!” You are not defeated— the enemy is the defeated one and he’s just trying to put that off on you! You are VICTORIOUS! Prophesy your victory, your healing, your breakthrough. He is the Lord of the Breakthrough!

Your prayers have already been heard so now prophesy His faithfulness and His answer NOW! 🙌🏼🔥💥

He Delights In Helping You!

By Kathi Pelton

During a past season of refinement that I was going through, I had began praying prayers that were not familiar to my ears. They were prayers that resembled begging— they sounded like the voice of an orphan not a daughter. Since some of my needs during that time stemmed from my own mistakes, unbelief and “taking matters into my own hands”, I felt deserving of the burdens that I was carrying. I found myself apologizing to God constantly and agonizing over the fact that I’d made some choices that brought about personal hardships. My prayers went from “Thank you Father…” to “Please help God…”

One night while I was struggling with guilt, worry and regrets over my predicament I began apologizing once again and praying (begging) this way, “Please help me God…” Immediately the Lord interrupted me. He said, “Daughter, why are you praying like an orphan when you are a loved daughter?”

I replied, “Because I acted out of doubt and unbelief and now I’m paying the price. I knew better!”

With such love and compassion He spoke again, “When one of your children make a bad choice, even when they knew better, do you withhold love or help when they truly apologize and need your help out of their troubles?”

I answered, “No, I run to their aid and comfort their hurting hearts. I restore them to peace, to sonship and purity. I don’t think twice about it!”

He said, “Do you not know that I am far more patient with you? Do you know that My love for you far exceeds your love for your children? And do you not understand that it is My delight to help you?”

That night my prayer changed! It went from begging God for help to thanking Him that He takes delight in helping me. My heart released the heavy burden of the responsibility for my failure. When I repented I was released from the burden and Jesus took it upon Himself. I allowed the rain of His love to wash away the guilt, the shame, the regret and the orphan spirit that had taken hold of my heart. He baptized me anew in His mercy, grace and love. He restored my place as His daughter.

Whether what you are facing is by the fault of your own choices or even merely by circumstances beyond your control— know this: He takes delight in both helping you and comforting you! You are His beloved child and His greatest longing is to be near to you, comfort you and help you. He does not want you to suffer under burdens that you were not meant to carry. Just as a natural parent would carry something too heavy for their child to bear or pick them up to carry them when they are too tired to walk on, so will your Heavenly Father. He far exceeds any human love or compassion— even that of a father or mother.

I awoke this morning feeling the depths of His love and compassion for those who feel separated from Him because of the grief of their own failings or choices. He longs to take from you all that you cannot bear. He takes delight in helping you and setting you free. Turn your words from the words of a beggar back to the words of one who knows they are a loved son or daughter.

When my kids come to me feeling broken and burdened, I drop everything to do everything I can to both comfort and help them. God is doing that for you right now. The amazing thing is that He has no limits in His ability to help and He knows exactly what to do to comfort you. As a parent I am limited in my abilities— He is not! He dispatched angels on your behalf , He opens the doors of Heaven’s storehouse, He comes as Comforter, Redeemer, Deliverer and holds nothing back.

Thank Him! Thank Him that He delights in helping you! Thank Him that He loves you and has taken you as His own child! Don’t beg but go to Him knowing that He takes great delight in you.

“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

Freedom From The Religion of Regret

By Kathi Pelton

“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭7:10‬ ‭

This morning my “verse of the day” once again struck my spirit with such joy because it carries such freedom! Years ago the Lord spoke the words to me, “No regrets— only repentance!” The Godly sorrow that leads to repentance brings freedom from guilt, shame and regret. God disciplines His sons and daughters; He doesn’t punish them. Punishment lingers on and brings regret but God’s discipline invites us into a procession of freedom that goes from “Godly sorrow” to repentance to freedom. It sets us free to change and not repeat the same action.

I always ask Holy Spirit to replace my human sorrow (which often involves feeling sorry for myself, beating myself up, feelings of regret, defeat and shame) for true Godly sorrow that takes my hand and leads me out of captivity and into freedom. It puts me on the right path and takes me off the “hamster wheel” of repetitive sin and regrets.

You can’t make Godly sorrow come; you must ask for it. It is a work of the Spirit. Often believers will spend years in religious regret which robs them of joy and enslaves them to human effort rather then asking the Spirit of the Lord for the gift of “Godly sorrow.”

“Not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit” says the Lord.

We have entered a time of great deliverance from religious regrets. That has been a spiritual Egypt for so many with a hard taskmaster ruling over their souls. Some have spent their lives in this land of regret. But true Godly sorrow, which lasts but a day and sets the captives free will come upon those that have been oppressed with guilt, regret and condemnation…which is not repentance! Your Deliverer has come to set you free!

If you’ve been caught in this cycle (even for decades) then exchange your human sorrow for Godly sorrow. Ask the Holy Spirit for a divine and supernatural exchange. Shake off religious regrets and allow the sorrow that will lead you to salvation and freedom!

I speak over you what the Spirit spoke over me many years ago, “NO REGRETS— only repentance!”

Be free in Jesus mighty name!

Step Into The River That Rages Between You And Your Promise

by Kathi Pelton

The body of Christ is in a great time of crossing over. This is happening in both the spirit and in the natural realm. Many are packing up everything as they prepare to cross over from the wilderness home they have known into the land of inheritance they will possess.

As the crossover time from one decade to another is now less than two weeks away, God’s people are experiencing a preparation and call to stand up out of the familiar, out of the comfortable, out of the stagnant place, and move into the new land. Once again, for some this is a shift in their spiritual posture, and for others it is both spiritual and physical.

For my family it it both. The Lord began to speak to us almost nine months ago about a move to the Washington D.C./Virginia region. We have lived on the West Coast our entire lives so this came as quite a surprise and honestly, quite a challenge. When we determined (and discerned) that this move was certain we suddenly were hit with great opposition. Our finances were hit (even our monthly support took a large hit), my physical health was hit so hard that it looked like the possibility of any move would have to be delayed for many months, and circumstances that needed to fall into place were just not happening. Impossibilities were surrounding us like a great army of opposition.

So— we waited. We paused and we ascended the mountain of God to get face to face with Him. During one of my mornings in prayer I heard Him say, “Daughter, it’s time to step your feet into the river that rages between you and your land of inheritance. That which opposes you will stand up and honor you.”

I asked Him if this was a spiritual or a natural step? He replied, “Both.” He then revealed to me what the natural (physical) step needed to be and in obedience I took that step. It was a costly and risky step of faith, but within twenty-four hours everything shifted and the raging waters began to part. Not every detail was in place but we were able to place our feet upon dry ground, and with every step forward the waters of opposition have stood up and made a way for us.

Absolutely impossible circumstances that had no answers suddenly had answers and all of the physical symptoms that I had been experiencing—and that were leaving doctors baffled—stopped overnight. We began crossing over!

I sense that our testimony is a prophetic announcement over many of you. It is time to put your feet in the river that has been raging between you and your Promised Land. What has opposed you will stand up like a soldier that salutes you as you pass by. This may require a spiritual step or a natural step; or like us—both. Ask the Lord what it looks like for you to step into the river of spiritual or natural circumstances that is preventing you from crossing over. He will “direct your step(s).”

As you go forward you also need to know what to bring and what to leave behind. For us, this is occurring in the physical realm and the spiritual realm. In both cases there have been good things, and even useful things, that the Lord has said would not be needed in the next season. Parting with these things that have always been fruitful or useful has been an act of faith but we know they are making room for the new. We’ve never been this way before so we don’t know what we will need in the days ahead, but we know that we must make room for the new by leaving behind some of the old.

One thing I am experiencing (which I believe is a prophetic picture) is that, in the natural, even what I have loved and found “homey” in regards to the way I decorate my home is having to change. I will be about to pack something for our new home and the Spirit will say, “That is part of the old design. I have something new.” To me this speaks of taking off old mantles and making room for new ones. We are stepping into new mantles that will radically change the way we function, and even alter the appearance of “who we are.” There are days that I spend so much time getting rid of things that I wonder if I’ll have anything to fill the new with. But we must trust that the Lord is making room for the new, and not try to fill the empty space with something just because it feels empty at the moment. There are many provisions that will come as you step into the new.

Do not be overly concerned with what you don’t have as you move forward, but be careful about what you do have that you need to let go of. Those are the things that will hinder you, slow you down, and become obstacles in the days ahead. You don’t have to understand His ways but you do have to trust His wisdom! Letting go and trusting Him is key in this hour.

In this process you can be experiencing times of stress or sudden anxiety. That is normal because you may be crashing into the “boundaries” of your faith. We don’t like to believe that our faith has boundaries, but in times of transition you will most likely run headlong into a boundary line of faith. It is the level to which your faith has been tested and proved in the past seasons, but suddenly God is calling you to cross over beyond that point of faith that you’ve walked in before. The moment you begin there is a new giant waiting there to mock you and intimidate you with fear. I find it so helpful to pray out of Philippians 4:7 each day,

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Let His peace be the guard over your heart and mind as you go into new territory and as you expand your spiritual walk further than you have gone before. He is extending the tent pegs (Isaiah 54). You may be confident in facing a lion or a bear but a giant is altogether something new!

So, be patient with yourself and with those around you, because so many are in transition and it is a very vulnerable place to be. Change is hard. The unfamiliar is just that: unfamiliar and unknown. We are entering new cultures and assignments, and the boundaries of people’s faith are being expanded and stretched. This involves our souls being refined, and fears that we have never had to face are suddenly “in our face”! This process is challenging motives of the heart and purifying aspects of our lives that needed to be made pure. So, don’t be too hard on yourself or on your neighbor, your spouse, your friend, or your leader. We are all being stretched and what was normal is no longer normal.

Finally, pray for the grace for yourself and others found in Ephesians 4:2-6,

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

‭‭It’s time to step into the river!

In My Weakness He Becomes So Strong!

By Kathi Pelton

Have you ever been in the midst of God launching you into new and amazing things and suddenly you are hit with the reality of your own weakness so strong that it knocks you to your knees? That is my life currently.

It’s not a bad place because it increases dependency, breaks boundaries that you didn’t know you had and humbles you to enter into the new place in a posture of being bowed down and transformed.

Each time that the Lord has brought me into something new it has required a new level of faith and trust. Of course it is such an honor to be chosen, to be called, to be asked to “go for Him”…but it requires not only my “yes” but my surrender, my death to self and the severing of any dependency on my “gifting.”

The other day I found myself in one of those “knock you to your knees” moments. Suddenly I felt as though I ran full force into a brick wall. It hit so hard that I began weeping. I asked the Lord, “What was that?” His answer took me to my knees. He said, “It’s the comfort boundary that your ‘yes’ hit.”

Oh my heart! I was immediately undone. I am keenly aware of my propensity to deeply desire comfort, traditions, the familiar and a “picket fence” life. This is probably why God keeps me from a life of human comforts; He is jealous for my heart. But in this particular moment I realized that my faith had a comfort boundary or picket fence that looked like “great faith” to the outsider but still created a limited habitation for my God that my transition had hit.

Creating a boundary wasn’t a conscious decision but when I became aware of it I also was immediately aware of every lingering insecurity, weakness and fear that existed beyond the boundary I had set. I felt cripple and it crumbled me to the ground all day long. It wasn’t condemnation but rather a dismantling of securities that are not founded in Him.

As I looked at these weaknesses and these limitations I could only weep. Then I bundled them up and carried them to the feet of Jesus. As I laid them before Him I could only bow low before my humble King. I presented my pain, my fears, my desires for the “safe road”, my weaknesses and then asked Him to be King over them.

Suddenly I was filled with strength that was so sovereign that it reminded me of when Daniel was in the presence of the Angel of the Lord and it took him to his knees,

“Then the one who looked like a man touched me again, and I felt my strength returning.” Daniel 10:18

My strength returned and I was able to get up. Then I was given courage to move beyond the familiar boundaries that my soul had erected. I felt courage imparted to me, His love filled me and His goodness carried me beyond what I had known.

Human weakness is merely the fertile soil for the strength of Christ to be made known and displayed. Throughout my life there have been key seasons where God has prepared to go beyond where I am comfortable and each time it is as if the Lord has bought a field just beyond what I’ve known and invites me to expand my boundaries to be planted there. It is usually a field that is untouched and needs great work before it can receive seed.

When I say yes this becomes the field where I my life is once again tilled, weeds are pulled (roots of weeds are removed), stones are removed, hard ground is softened and fertilizer is added. It’s a messy process and I long for the fruit of the familiar field behind me. But this process prepares me to bear new fruit and to know Him in greater ways; and to trust Him more.

If you are in the grip of the crippling reality of your personal weakness, then allow yourself to fall at His feet. Bring all of your lack, your fears, your pain and your insecurities and place them at His feet. He can turn anything into an offering of praise. Watch as He turns the broken pieces into beauty and the weakened places into strength and courage. Christ in you will become your strength and your song. You will find yourself moving beyond the boundaries that you have known and dancing on the heads of giants that mocked the “God in you!”

It’s okay to cry, to feel weakness and to be afraid…but you must not stop there! You must fall at His feet and present even what doesn’t seem beautiful to you. He makes all things presented to Him beautiful.

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Your Pause Has Purpose

by Kathi Pelton

We are in the midst of a great “crossover” time in the body of Christ. It is a time of great movement and leaving the familiar to enter the land of promise and inheritance.

Yet, for many, their crossover began but then was seemingly “stopped” right as they stepped forward. For my husband and I, we began crossing over and after a couple of steps we heard the words, “Now pause.” This was very confusing but we obeyed. Then the Lord took me to the Book of Joshua where I read this,

“Give this command to the priests who carry the Ark of the Covenant: ‘When you reach the banks of the Jordan River, take a few steps into the river and stop there.’”” Joshua‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭

“TAKE A FEW STEPS AND STOP THERE…pause!” Why the pause or stop? Because God sent the priests in first that carried His presence so that the river would dry up and the rest of the people can cross over first! What if your pause is so that by faith you can stand in the river and watch it part for others to pass through? Your pause and our pause may be to intercede, encourage and carry His presence for others to cross over.

This journey of faith can often cause us only to see our walk and our call but we have been called to make sure that the whole family crosses over and no one is left behind.

If you stepped out in faith to cross into the land of inheritance and after only a couple steps you found that you had to stop then maybe this word is for you and your pause has great purpose upon it! So stand with purpose and stand as one carrying His presence so that the multitudes can cross over ahead of you. Rejoice that you have been called as a priest and take joy that you can be one who is making a way for all to crossover.

“Meanwhile, the priests who were carrying the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant stood on dry ground in the middle of the riverbed as the people passed by. They waited there until the whole nation of Israel had crossed the Jordan on dry ground.” Joshua‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭

Stand! Hold the ground until all have crossed over.
