You Are Brave…You Are Not Alone!

By Kathi Pelton

Deuteronomy 31:6
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
When I was a little girl my dad would often put me in a seat on the back of his bicycle and together we would ride. I loved these times and I felt so brave. I loved feeling the wind in our hair, the road beneath us and a new adventure before us. These times were my favorite times with my dad.
When I was a small child there were not bicycle helmets, shoulder harnesses or all the safety features that we have today. Just a seat on the back of a bike and my DAD! That was all I needed to make me brave; my strong dad sitting in front of me.
Today my Earthly dad is gone but my Heavenly Dad is very present and is taking me on daily rides with great adventure. I don’t need a helmet or any safety device, I just need my DAD. There is never a moment that my Heavenly Father isn’t going before me and with me. I can be brave and enjoy the ride that He takes me on. YOU ARE BRAVE! You are brave because you know that you are a son or daughter whose Dad is with you.
There may be potholes or curves in the road ahead, there may even be obstacles that have to be swerved around but you just have to hold onto your Daddy’s back and trust that He will navigate the way for you. He laughs at all the obstacles and you can laugh too. His strength makes you brave.
Today He is inviting you to ride with your Daddy. What a fun adventure it will be as you go through this day knowing that He is in front of you.
Note: The picture is the exact bike seat that my dad had on the back of his bike for me. 🙂
