Just let those words sink in. You are NEVER alone, never abandoned and never forsaken. He is there with you on your brightest day and your darkest night. Even when you do not feel Him…He is there!
Most of us have experienced the loss of someone close; whether through death or a broken relationship. In those moments the sense of abandonment can leave us traumatized. But there is One who has never left your side. He is forever with you. From the moment of your conception His eyes have never left looking upon you.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
There is so much to terrify us in this world of uncertainty. But the Father says that we do not need to be afraid because He goes with us wherever we go. Some may ask, “Where was He during events like the school shootings in Oregon?” Although we can try to reach for answers that make sense, we will still come up short of any answer that will fully comfort the hearts of those affected and those who lost loved ones. But the one thing that we do know is that those students and the teacher that perished did not stand alone in that moment…God was with them.
The other day I kept seeing a vision of a moth being drawn to a bright light, over and over I saw this.
Finally I asked the Lord,
“What is this that You are trying to show me?”
He then said,
“The students that were taken from this world at Umpqua Community College were show a great light. This was the light of My presence and my love that has always been with them. They were so drawn to the light that they were not afraid to say, ‘I am a Christian’ even though they understood the price. Though fear permeated that room, those who were lost were so drawn to the light and the love and beauty found in that light that they could not resist going there. They left this world with great joy.”
Wow, they instantly became aware of the fullness of the truth that is found in Deuteronomy 31:6…His Presence and His perfect love. Perfect love cast out all fear and they went into His perfect love.
This truth is for each of us every day. No matter what you are facing, He is with you. You can fully trust and lean on that truth. You can ask for that truth to heal every place of abandonment that has touched your life. Do not allow fear to pull you away from the truth of His presence. Instead run into the light of His love and you will find that this great love casts out fear.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…”
