I woke up this morning with an old Vineyard song going through my head called, “Dance On It”. The song is about dancing on the enemies plans (injustice) with praise. When our kids were young it was one of their favorite songs and they would break into dancing every time it was played.
I had a dream last night that I was in a room where a demon was. The fear in the room was tangible. I started out by praying against the demon and rebuking it. But the atmosphere of fear grew stronger. Then the demon began to manifest his power in the room by throwing me out of the chair that I was sitting upon, then taking the blanket wrapped around me and throwing it off and last the curtains on the window began to blow and then were ripped off the window. At that moment all fear left me and I realized the “show” that this demon was putting on to display his power. In a moment this crazy courage came upon me and I stood up and began wildly dancing throughout the room and singing the name of Jesus over and over. Then I broke out into laughter and I realized that my focus had been on getting rid of the demon rather than the assignment that he was sent to release. The assignment was fear and as I overcame fear and began to dance the demonic spirit left and I woke up.
If you are being harassed by the enemy and he’s trying to move you from your posture of faith (like in my dream when he tipped me out of my chair) or he’s trying to disrupt things around you (in my dream he pulled the drapes down) then it just might be time to “dance on it” with great abandon!
The enemy just can’t stand it when we stop being afraid of him any longer. He had no idea what to do when I arose and began to dance in the midst of his trickery. Then as I sang the name of Jesus in the midst of my dance he just had to leave…it was all too much for him.
It’s time for God’s people to get up and dance! Dance upon every bad report, dance upon every fear, dance upon every thing that has disrupted your joy and gladness!
Now get up and dance on it!
…Let Israel be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.…
