A few nights ago our family spent the evening watching the Christmas movie, The Polar Express. It is about a young boy who has begun to doubt the existence of Santa Claus. He is taken on a journey to rediscover “belief”.
When he sees Santa’s reindeer and sleigh he cannot hear the sleigh bells. In desperation to hear the sound he begins to say, “I believe, I believe, I believe!” Suddenly he hears the sound of the bells and great joy fills his heart.
On this Christmas Eve the Lord would like to restore to many the belief that they have lost through doubts and fears. Like the young boy in the movie begin to say to your soul, “I believe, I believe, I believe!”
God is not a man that He should lie or withhold His promises. He is forever faithful. Can you hear the bells that announce His goodness to all men? Can you hear the bells that ring out to celebrate our Messiah’s birth 2000 years ago? Can you hear the bells that remind you that Hope has come and will never leave or forsake you?
Believe again! Let this be the day that your ears are opened again and you hear and believe once again. He brings glad tidings of comfort and joy.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
