“The ropes of death entangled me; floods of destruction swept over me. The grave wrapped its ropes around me; death laid a trap in my path. But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.”
Psalms 18:4-6
This is such an appropriate verse for our nation that is facing hurricanes, fires and floods. Yet in the midst of natural storms I have received many letters from people who are facing life storms. These people have written to me to ask for prayer as they have been crying out for help. God has heard your cries of distress!
“…But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.”
Your cry has reached His ears. Psalm 18 goes on to say,
“He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me. The Lord rewarded me for doing right; he restored me because of my innocence.”
Psalms 18:19-20
Because of my innocence…
As soon as I read those words I was once again taken into a Heavenly courtroom where the enemy was gathering “proof of guilt” against the saints of God. As he presented the evidence of guilt before this court, it was place in the hands of Jesus where it transformed into a blackish sludge and poured through the holes in His hands. As it did it became a liquid gold that was so pure that it was transparent. Guilt was turned to absolute innocence. As the proof of guilt became the proof of innocence because of the blood of Jesus, I saw Heavenly help and rescues angels released.
Because of the greatness of His love, you have been declared innocent! No matter what you have done or what penalty you deserve, as the evidence of guilt is placed into the hands of your Savior it transforms into pure innocence.
Let’s look even further into Psalm 18,
“Then at your command, O Lord, at the blast of your breath, the bottom of the sea could be seen, and the foundations of the earth were laid bare. He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters.”
Psalms 18:15-16
Just like when the Israelites stood before the Red Sea and the Lord opened up a way where the bottom of that sea could be seen and the foundations do the Earth were laid bare; He will command a way to open up before you that will rescue you from what has been too strong for you.
Psalm 18 is a promise of rescue for you. Jesus has provided innocence to cover you and release a rush of Heavenly help to assist you at this time. This is your prayer, your promise and your declaration.
The innocence provided for you in Christ Jesus is, even now, releasing deliverance from your enemies and help in your distress.

As I was finishing this article the Spirit asked me to share a testimony with you that touched our lives so deeply…
A few years ago we met a couple who had been receiving great encouragement from my prophetic words and writings. They came to us with a financial gift and a commitment to walk with us in prayer, friendship and monthly financial support.
They shared with us that the Spirit had taught them that many people within the body of Christ were receiving words of life and encouragement from the prophetic voices and yet not following the example of David in 2 Samuel 24:24 which says,
“But the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will certainly buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God which cost me nothing.” So David purchased the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.”
Though the prophetic voices are not selling the word of the Lord for a price and I pray that no one ever will, this couple shared with us that the Spirit of the Lord had clearly shown them that they were to honor the prophets and to follow David’s example. This couple said to us,
“We cannot take something that cost us nothing.”
Their lives have been launched into the transition of seeing God’s promises and prophetic words fulfilled as they have done this. God has taken them both out of their jobs and moved them from their city (and home state) to transplant them into a new land. He has even now positioned them to move into the call that He has placed upon their lives and is opening doors of opportunity and favor before them. Their entire lives have changed and been positioned for “such a time as this”.
I am certain that we are not the only lives that this couple has sown into and please know that I am not sharing this testimony for the purpose of raising personal support (as this happened a few years ago) but rather because the Spirit asked me to share it. We, too, were stirred to increase our giving due to this revelatory truth that they shared with us. As we did we experienced not only an increase in support but an increase in favor and desires fulfilled.
The Spirit is inviting you into this truth. Who has encouraged you? Who has spoken God’s words of life into you? Sow into your personal prophetic words and watch increase come. Plant seeds into your prophetic promises and watch a harvest come forth. Pour water on the mouthpieces who have been His voice of refreshing in your life.
May all of us say what this couple said to us,
“We cannot take something that cost us nothing.”
