It is the dawning of a new day and I hear the words in my spirit out of Joel 2 that say,
“Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming. It is close at hand—” Joel 2:1
Though darkness is seen throughout the land, it is the dawn that reveals the sons and daughters of God. They are emerging like the sunrise; announcing a new day. They will be light in the darkness, hope to the hopeless and the good news that brings peace.
They are an army that walks in the unity of the Godhead (John 17:20-23). They will not jostle one another but walk according to all that He commands. Together they will follow His lead and His steps while they cry out between the porch and the altar, “Spare your people, Lord.”
Their steps are bathed in the blood of the Lamb and they release the truth that comes from that blood that reveals these words,
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13
This “Greater Love” is the sound that comes from their trumpets and songs. This love is the substance that binds them together as one.
The Lord hears this army of sons and daughters, of desperate lovers, and He responds saying,
“…I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy you fully; never again will I make you an object of scorn to the nations.” Joel 2:19
They will be Joel’s army, they will be Joseph’s storehouse and they will be an ark of safety to a lost and dying world. They will shout, “The Lord has done great things for us and we are glad!”
Once again He will respond to them saying,
“Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten— the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm — my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed.” Joel 2:23-26
He is our God and we are His inheritance…His family! He is pouring His Spirit out upon sons and daughter and all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved!
Blow the trumpet!
