Not By Might…

(Day 8 of 40: The Yielding)

We all know the verse from Zechariah 4:6 but I’d like to share it with you out of the Message translation,

The Messenger-Angel said, “Can’t you tell?” “No, sir,” I said. Then he said, “This is God’s Message to Zerubbabel: ‘You can’t force these things. They only come about through my Spirit,’ says God-of-the-Angel-Armies. ‘So, big mountain, who do you think you are? Next to Zerubbabel you’re nothing but a molehill. He’ll proceed to set the Cornerstone in place, accompanied by cheers: Yes! Yes! Do it!’” (Zechariah 4:6)

“You can’t force these things…” or “Not by might nor by power…”. As we yield to the powerful might of the Spirit even the mountains before us become like molehills. Though the enemy will cast shadows that loom like tall mountains over us, they are but molehills before the Lord.

Our authority and identity as sons and daughters of the Most High God is terrifying before every enemy and every demonic force. They tremble as the Cornerstone of Christ is securely place in our lives and we yield fully to His Spirit and to the will of our Father.

Today we once again yield to the work of the Spirit of God, who causes mountains to tremble and demons to flee. We declare that Jesus is the cornerstone of our lives and of our families. Though the Earth is shaken, we shall not be; for His Kingdom cannot be shaken.

We conclude the first 8-day segment of this 40-days of Yielding with declaring that we put Jesus our Cornerstone in place! I hear the Lord speaking with great authority the words from Zechariah 3:2,

“The LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?””

‭‭God will not be mocked and He will rebuke the one that has accused and harassed you, your family and His people.

Jesus is the Cornerstone of our lives!
