As believers across the world pray for the citizens of nations like Afghanistan, Cuba, Lebanon and other nations where tyranny rules, I felt to remind you to pray not only for the righteous but also for the wicked. Truly, the wicked are in a place of eternal risk. If the wicked will turn, then the righteous and the innocent in the land are set free as well.
Today let us pray for “the wicked” out of Isaiah 55:6-7,
“Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.”
God, today we come together in prayer and supplication on behalf of those who are doing wrong, especially leaders of nations and their followers who have been deceived. We plead on their behalf that they will “change their ways and banish the VERY THOUGHT of doing wrong.” We intercede on their behalf that they will turn to the Lord so that you can have mercy on them and be gracious to them. We cry out to them, “Turn to God while he can be found by you— he will save and forgive you! He will heal you and heal your land!”
Please share this so that we can mark today as a day that the body of Christ globally agreed in prayer for the turning of the wicked from evil to good, from tyranny to their Savior, who sets men free!
Amen—
