Today is the last day of August 2015 and we will finish this month in the strength of the Lord. As we have continued to let our own strength go in order to align ourselves with the strength of the Lord, it will enable us to begin September even stronger than we began August. The more dependent on His strength we become the stronger we become. The world says that independence is strength but the Word says that dependency upon the Lord is where we become strong.
Strength comes in God’s wisdom! The wisdom of man brings us only human results but the wisdom of God brings forth supernatural results. I want to live a supernatural life, not a natural life. When I receive God’s wisdom and knowledge I am strengthened with confidence because I know that the hand of the Lord is upon me and goes before me.
Solomon knew this truth! Let us start September like Solomon when God asked Him what He could give him and Solomon answered by saying,
10 ” Give me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this Your people who are so great?” (2 Chronicles 1:10)
Then God answered him in 2 Chronicles 1:11,
11 …Because this was in your heart and you have not asked for riches, possessions, honor, and glory, or the life of your foes, or even for long life, but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may rule and judge My people over whom I have made you king,
12 Wisdom and knowledge are granted you. And I will give you riches, possessions, honor, and glory, such as none of the kings had before you, and none after you shall have their equal.
Asking for wisdom was the wise thing to ask for! It brought Solomon not only what he needed to rule the people but it brought the blessings of riches, possessions, honor and glory. I hear so many of God’s people asking for provision but maybe we should be asking for wisdom so that God’s people may walk in great authority and the other things will be added.
I will end August asking God for wisdom and knowledge and I will begin September dependent on His wisdom to lead me, direct me and strengthen me. Will you do the same?
