The enemy has sent many “charges and accusations” against those who have been purchased by grace and made right (righteous) by the blood of Jesus. As God’s children we are to have no agreement, nor entertain any charges or accusations, that would in any way reduce the fullness of what Christ did on the cross for us. Though our lives are being refined, purified and renewed daily, our shortcomings and maturing process does not reduce or diminish the fullness of the grace that paid for ALL of our sins.
“He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.” Colossians 2:14-15 NLT
There is a seduction of legalism and religiosity that tries to take hold of the believer, to entice him or her into agreeing with the accuser that there are pending charges against us. If the bait is taken, we will quickly move from the humble posture of grace into the works of the flesh that come out of human strength. The grace that comes from the cross of Christ will move us into renewal and transformation faster than any works that condemnation could ever attempt to accomplish. True conviction comes from the place of recognizing our absolute weakness and inability to save or redeem ourselves.
“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
When we agree with Christ regarding our pardon from all charges against us because of the blood He shed on the cross, in turn we humble ourselves before the grace of God so that His power can work in us, bringing His power that transforms and purifies.
Grace is not a license to sin; that attitude reveals that grace has been misunderstood and misdefined. Such a posture is foolish. True grace saves a person from the old, arrogant, and careless ways that led them into foolishness and defilement. It also saves a person from self-deprivation and condemnation that leads them into works and the strength of flesh. The grace that came from the shed blood of our Savior, who bore the sin of all mankind, causes us to bow down in humility and human weakness to receive the strength and power that comes from Him alone.
This is to be our agreement and our authority. This is what disarms the enemy (spiritual rulers and authorities in unseen realms) that come to try to diminish the finished work of the cross in your life and in the body of Christ as a whole.
We will agree with the blood of Jesus that speaks a better word! We will agree with the truth that the charges brought against us have been paid in full by the blood of Jesus upon the cross. We will agree with, and even boast in, our weakness so that there is room for His strength and power to be made manifest within us.
If you are feeling accused, condemned, charged, or sentenced: today is the day to put those things under the blood of Jesus that washes away all guilt through His innocence. Settle the matter in humility so that the transformational work that has happened in the spirit will begin to manifest in the natural. Do not agree with the accusation against Christ that says His blood was not enough to cancel the charges against you.
His grace is sufficient!
