Oceans in the Desert

I will be putting out a longer and more detailed word regarding “prophetic insights for 2021” in the coming days. But for now I wanted to share with you the most important thing that the Lord spoke to me. It was these words,

“Tell my people that the days ahead will either be a wrestle or a dance. It is their choice.”

Then I saw the Lord extending his hand toward his bride; inviting her to dance with him. His eyes were filled with tenderness, longing and deep love for her. I knew by revelation that this was a dance that she’d never danced before— it was intimate but also intricate. I could see her longing to enter his arms and dance but I also saw her trepidation because she did not know the steps.

He once again spoke saying, “Don’t look at your feet but look into my eyes and your feet will follow.”

This dance required her to remove her shoes— she was barefoot because this was holy. She also needed to be able to keenly feel the ground beneath her feet as she followed his lead. Face to face would be the posture needed for the steps ahead. Eyes locked on his eyes and not on the things below— he will lead and order the steps as love leads the dance. The light in his eyes will bring beauty, joy and pleasure even as you are trampling serpents with your joined steps— you’ll be unhindered by what is below because your gaze will be fixed on his eyes.

I also saw another scene. It was those who insisted on walking as they have in the past. They weren’t wanting a dance but rather a fight. Deep inside they wanted to take the lead. They tightened their boot straps and forged ahead. Then quickly they got tangled up in the movements of Jesus because he was not moving the way that they were. The clash in movements became a wrestle to those who didn’t take his hand and engage in the steps of this dance.

I was very aware that each step of this intricate dance was defeating more giants than anything we had done before. This dance required surrender, yielding, oneness and undivided focus. It was a surrender to the realization that “his ways are not our ways” in an atmosphere that provoked the flesh to battle in “our ways.”

The enemy provokes people to get us to enter into our strength, our ways and even our strategies. He has no idea how to battle those who are surrender to oneness with Christ. He has no idea what to do with joy and unity. Peace is absolute chaos to the enemy, who feeds on an atmosphere of anxiety and fear.

I don’t know the steps to this dance but I know his eyes and therefore I will remove my shoes and draw near with a surrendered and yielded heart…and let him lead. We will see more victories than ever before. This dance will lead prodigals home and the lost into the arms of Christ. It will release peace, joy and favor and it will reorder things like a supernatural plumb line.

If you find yourself in a wrestle then stop and find his eyes— then let his eyes lead your feet back into the dance. We dance and live from the place of victory…because Jesus has already defeated death and hell.

“Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance,
And the young men and the old, together,
For I will turn their mourning into joy
And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow.”
Jeremiah 31:13
