Restoration of Favor!

This is amazing…

Today I opened my Bible this morning and it opened to this page in the Book of Psalms. Somehow my “I VOTED” sticker from the 2020 election got in there and the backing came off and it is stuck to Psalm 85, titled, “Restoration of Favor”

I did NOT stick it there and yet it is perfectly placed with no sign of the backing paper that it was on.

During 2020 one of my constant prayers was, “Let faithful love and truth be joined together; and righteousness and peace embrace.” Or…”kiss.” (Ps. 85:10)

Psalm 85 begins with these words,

“Lord, You show favor to Your land; You restored Jacob’s prosperity. You took away Your people’s guilt: You covered all their sin.” (Vs. 1-2)

At this time of great conflict in Israel, we pray this for the Jewish people and the land of Israel. We also repent as Americans of any time and any way that we have been a part of dividing the land or standing in opposition against His people.

I love verse 8-9,

Listen to what God will say, “Surely the Lord will declare peace to His people, to His godly ones, and not let them go back to foolish ways.

His salvation is very near those who fear Him, so that glory may dwell in our land.”

As I turned to this page and saw the sticker— I felt the presence of the Lord say these words for His people in Israel and over His people in the United States. Though we are passing through this “Valley of Baca” (Trouble), we are just passing through— on our way to His house (Ps 84).

“Return to us, God of our salvation…show us your faithful love and give us Your salvation.” Amen!
